@@samedwards3285 I prefer the HD pack for Half-Life over the OG models. The only thing I don't like about it is that the MP5 was swapped for an M16 but I have a mod that fixes that.
These are all drawn, actually. The more technical term is "paintover" I think, since they started life as 3D model rips and then were painted over to look appropriately doomy.
For future reference: This needs to be paired with NashGore or one of those other ultraviolence mods (preferably something that implements location damage?) for the genuine Soldier of Fortune(tm) experience.
The only location damage I'm aware of is headshots and maybe backstabs. Suffice to say adding different hitboxes to sprite-based entities is a surefire way to cause lag and would definitely demand way too much work.
Most of the weapons are either 1-1 (pretty much in function) soldier of fortune 1&2 weapons or have sounds sourced from soldier of fortune ( mp5 uses SOF 1 &2 sounds, double barrel shotgun and AK use SOF 2 sounds etc etc)
Ooh. Me very much likey. My saves were all lost due to a bug, so once that's fixed and I hopefully get them back, I'll take this out for a spin. And that ssg sprite is amazing and I know I recognize it from another mod somewhere.
That's unfortunate, but I hope you have fun when you do. I don't know of a lot of mods that use Lucas Kord's sprites, just this and maybe some earlier version of Resurrection of Dawn (which I do plan on showcasing at some point, it's just a little jank at the moment).
@@matteldrydgeI think you're right! I looked up the sprite artist, and now I remember that I saw that post back on the zdoom forums way back when, and hoping someone would use them! Glad to see it finally happened.
@MA-pg1id Spanish is not my first language. Neither is English, but I used to speak Spanish daily and writing it twists my brain into a pretzel these days.
God, I like the gameplay for the most part but the sprites bug me so much. Besides the obvious bit of seeing mostly unmodified Shadow Warrior sprites yet again, some weapons have a sorta cartoon-y look to them while others don't, the Mac-10 (or Bulldog T-31, whatever)'s suppressor has part of it's black outline cut off on the left side, and ngl I've never been a fan of that knife sprite.
I can't stress enough how important your channel has been to me in finding new ways to enjoy Doom.
Same here.
Thanks for the praise, but I'm just doing my part here. More Doom is always better after all. :)
"Soldier of Fortune vibe" This *IS* Soldier of fortune!
Yeah, I knew those sound effects when I heard them!
the booming sound of the shotgun that rivals the half-life HD pack shotgun made me immediately think that

As usual, glad to help!
This is my favourite mod from this creator, and I see you're using Bullet Time mod same as I do because it somehow fits it.
Yep, more to show off the animations Mace did. Those take a lot of work.
I dig how modders are trying to make even imported 3D models like this have to look and feel of Doom sprites.

@@matteldrydge Either way it rocks.
This is such a weird thing to hone in on, but I love the two-tone coloration on the SPAS-12. This looks like a blast
Agreed, grey and olive drab always go together.
i tried to make the spas-12 green, i swear!
I prefer grey-orange

Tell Mr.Mullins he forgot to switch off the safety on his MP5. :)
Bro turned the spas-12 upside down but forgot to push the button
The button is activated by the little man inside the gun, trust me.
Very fun mod. Been rotating between this and metal ops
I played through a bit of DBP 58 Immortal Warfare with it the other day, it's a match made in heaven.
Second mod, other than Raging Bull that I see the CORRECT reload for the SPAS shotgun...yep, this is a strong one.
Wait, Black Panther 9mm and Silver Talon .44, that's a reference to the first Soldier of Fortune game.

What our illustrious friend Eggmaestro said. The mod's meant to be a take on SoF, but in Doom.
Daaamn I like that Super Shotgun a lot
It's very strong. I think you can 3 hit barons with it, haven't played around much with this mod yet.

Buen mod inspirado en soldier of fortune. Lastima que mace (el creador) se retiro😢
Dicen que tu puedes dejar Doom, pero Doom no te dejas. Espiero que sea el caso con Mace.

It sure has. Actually recording the showcase is low priority still, given the sheer amount of stuff to cover.

Could always replace the sprites yourself if you're up for that challenge. It's a Doom mod, not something you paid for.
