this is what the makeup community NEEDS. we have soooooo many "first impressions" that now when little girls try to find tutorials for their first try at makeup.... there are no videos to be found.

Why did you choose the orange shadow as your 3rd color after the 2 first transition colors and then you chose a yellow? What's the thinking behind it? Just do your makeup with tons of different colors and see what you like best on you. I really don’t think there should be rules for what colors you use on your eyes because 2 people with green eyes for example could have completely different hair colors and skin tones. You might be surprised what colors you like on you, I don’t even do browns anymore, mostly mustards or bright red/orange/pink corals

Puye Aref I know I try to do a simple Eye lookAnd literally all of my tutorials are like 20 minutes long and the reason is because of this right here most if not all of these beauty gurus and their movie magic it is extremely hard to learn anything from- honestly I have never learned anything from any of them and I always said that if I ever did a beauty channel I was going to explain in detail and show how I am blending and show where exactly I’m placing the product because product placement is equally as important as blending and honestly I guess that’s why my videos are so long!

I love when she is not pushing Morphe. I personally found their brushes to be very cheap. They break so easily. I love the way Jaclyn teaches us how to apply makeup. She is super knowledgeable and talented. 👍👍❤❤❤

Try the ardel magnetic lashes they are 13.99 or 14.99 a pair but you can use one pair for a month so its worth it 😘 they do take a little practice but i think they are easier than using glue

You are by far the queen of blending eyeshadow. I watch all the usual suspects and they all do a great job with eyeshadow but the detail you go into and the precision in your blending and shading is unmatched. I’ll be honest, there were a few of those lighter brown shades that you used that I initially thought were a waste of time but in the end the way all those browns blended and faded into each other from light to dark was simply gorgeous. I feel like the other beauty influencers would have skipped at least two (maybe three) of those lighter brown shades and in the end they would have come up with a pretty look that I probably would have liked but it wouldn’t have been anywhere near as beautiful as your end result. This eye look is simply beautiful.

Dear Jaclyn, your lips, your nose, your hair: you master all kind of techniques in order to visually "erase" or "improve" your face (and body). Some like it, some don't. My thoughts when you appear on your video are: "Is it you, Jaclyn"? "Are you real?" and finally :"Your techniques are so upthere, that looking practically perfect makes look like a MODERN GEISHA". That means a lot of new followers from Japan will be so happy to watch your videos! Personnally, I don't mind the "unnatural" result, as long as it isn't harming your face or body. I was a former subscriber and haven’t watched her videos in a while because I just checked out of the makeup/beauty channels completely but I’ve always loved Jaclyn and her positive attitude. I wondered “what’s Jaclyn up to” & was totally caught off guard by how different she looks. She was always so beautiful and I don’t understand all the work that’s been done. I truly believe this stuff can become an addiction.
Jaclyn, please trust the people who are telling you to stop doing this stuff. It’s not jealousy, spitefulness, or anything like that. It’s sadness that you don’t see how beautiful you were and don’t realize that this stuff is detracting from your beauty and making your face look hard and masculine, and even older to be honest. If I could send this privately I would because I would never want to embarrass someone (not that she cares what I think) but it’s hard to see this happening and not say something. It’s like body dysmorphia. She doesn’t see what everyone else sees.

LADIES-- keep in mind... everyone’s eye shapes are different. Give yourself a break when it doesn’t turn out looking like hers. Hooded eyes, smaller eyes are difficult to work with. It will be a completely different technique. she has a perfect eye shape for working with multiple colors and achieving lots of dimension while making it look easy.

This is so true! I used to get annoyed with myself that I couldn't achieve her exact look, BUT my eyes are smaller, and I don't have as much space to lay down all of those shades, so I learn from her, and I apply it to what I CAN do with my eye shape. Plus it takes practice, It's taken me a good year or more to achieve my "perfect" eye look.

I would love to see you do someone else’s makeup! I am a professional makeup artist, mainly for weddings, and it’s sooo different doing makeup on yourself than it is on others. I’ve come such a long way from when I first started freelancing but I always feel like there’s room to improve and would love to see and hear your tips and tricks that you used when you were freelancing :) much love!
