Excellent. What rod and reel are you using for your heavier set up please?

Hi Paul, glad you enjoyed the video. The rod you are asking about is a Savage gear multi purpose Predator soft lure 8’ 3”. 7to23 grams casting weight, unfortunately this rod is long out of production and I believe the mk2 version is also out of production. The reel is a Shimano Stradic 2500 size, I can’t remember the exact model but I think I have had it about 3 years now. The Stradics are still available but again probably updated from the reel I was using. Hope this has helped and a Merry Christmas to you.

Glad you enjoyed the video Will, as to where I was fishing I don’t like naming specific spots. When information like that fall to the wrong people good spots don’t stay good very long. Hopefully you will understand and I am in no way referring to you as being one of these persons. It’s mid Co Down if that makes sense.

Best rockpool spot ;) endless fun on low tide, but dangerous as hell there on those slippy rocks. Had a nasty fall last year.

Yes I only go on the rocks now in dry weather, I know they get wet from the tide but rain makes them even more slippy. I had a nasty fall a couple of years ago on the rocks above Ardglass, it started raining and I fished on, big mistake, although I wasn’t wearing it in this video I normally wear a life jacket now when I’m rock fishing. Makes you think after a nasty fall doesn’t it.

Thanks, glad you enjoyed it. The lrf rod I am using is an HTO rock rover which has now been replaced by the HTO Nebula rock rover, same length and lure rating but don’t know how they compare to each other. The heavier rod is a Savage gear mpp soft lure rod 7 to 21 grams and 8’ long, this rod is also no longer made. The reels are shimano stradics in 1000 & 2500 size. Although I use ISome worms I wasn’t actually using them in this video, I had pieces of Berkeley gulp sand worms which are like ISome and I may have referred to them as ISome. I believe ISome is Japanese for sand worm, hope this helps
