The Mini Hopper is terrestrial pattern I ran across many years ago and have greatly enjoyed tying and fish ever since. A simple pattern to tie, it is a wonderful learning fly for those new to fly tying. Plus, with little modifications you can have all sorts of variations to fit your favorite waters.
The Mini Hopper was developed by Jason Jones, the same person to bring you the Bluegill Candy Hopper. You can see his original video on TH-cam - • AZ Wanderings Mini Hop...
Look for more Panfish flies in the coming weeks. - Enjoy

Caught some cut throat trout using this fly today thanks!
Nice, that must have been fun on the surface. Thanks for passing that on! - Ian Anderson
Great looking fly
Thank you. Can't take credit for creating it only tying it and fishing it. Fishing it is the best part. - Ian Anderson
That fly will catch far more than just panfish. I've used something very similar for years and (toned down a bit) it'll take trout and the occasional bass. Well done! Thanks for sharing.
James, I agree. I have not cast this to trout but am planning on it this summer during the terrestrial season. Glad you like the fly and video. - Ian Anderson
