The Ayreon Universe concert was recorded in September 2017 at 013 Poppodium concert hall, Tilburg, the Netherlands. It was released on DVD and Blu-Ray on March 30, 2018.
I really hope he beats that anxiety because he can definitely sing and play on stage very well.

Man, Arjen's singing as well as guitar play is so on point live, it's a shame we don't see him perform more often.

Thank you for posting this and the other recordings of the concert. It is so much fun seeing them having fun on the stage. And such an amount of outstanding talent there. I just discoverd Arjen Lucassen and his projects a few months ago when I was searching all I could find about Floor Jansen and of course found what she has done on the Ayreonprojects. By now i have become a huge fan of Arjens music and will be going to go to The Night of the Prog at the Lorelei Festival where they will be performing, the only show they’ll be doing this year. I’m so looking forward to that!
It really makes me happy to hear about your journey to Arjen's music, thank you. I'm just sort of attempting to chronicle the stuff I enjoy on the channel, hoping I'm not taking away from the artists themselves (in terms of profit), so knowing that this is how people find new music and are inspired to put their money towards the actual creators themselves is great.
I'm fairly recent. Came in via The Gentle Storm, as I *love* Anneke. Into the Electric Castle is already in my top 3 albums of all time - I've barely stopped listening to it!

It should say 645 MILLION views, Ayreon is the greatest bands in the know and unknown universe, beyond galaxy's and going where no one has gone before!!!!!!!!!!! I know it's only posted a few week's ago but stil....
I almost never watch ayreon on youtube because i pre-order al his new stuff on earbooks. I know it is hard too believe, but it sounds so much better.
Actually Zappa was doing it 50 years ago. The opening couple minutes reminded me of Zappa with Ray White singing. NMB (not Neal Morse Band) but Napolean Murphey Brock had a great voice too. But it's great that Lucassen is doing what he's doing. Sounds great!!!
I only discovered Arjen's music about a year ago. The opening minutes sounded a lot like something Zappa did. Thought it was great. Thanks.

that version is complete as it is the full retelling of the album! Most of these songs are shortened and they are all out of context as well but this concert was what made Arjen realise he could pull this off live and made the Live Electric Castle possible :D
TBH I prefer this one, strongly. Jay does the vocals amazingly well, and I prefer Arjens (original) intro solo over the improvised one there.
