    Therapeutic communication helps you understand what your patients are going through - which is why it’s tested on the NCLEX exam.
    As a nurse, you’ll often be the first point of contact between a patient and their medical team. In order to practice effective therapeutic communication, you need to listen closely, be open to feedback, and ask open-ended questions.
    As a part of our Mental Health series, we provide you with plenty of therapeutic communication techniques and examples.

    Thank you for everything you do. I passed the NCLEX with 76 questions and I couldn't have passed without you. You take complicated subjects like pharm and break it down to digestible pieces. Again thank you for all the content you have created for the NCLEX.

      Passing the NCLEX was very difficult for me. I graduated nursing school and I immediately started studying for the NCLEX, I purchased U World and Kaplan quiz banks and was taking 120 questions Monday through Thursday. I was getting very low scores in pharmacology on the quizzes. I purchased several pharm books but they were just too overwhelming. I was talking to a co-worker and she told me to give simple nursing a try and I tried the heart failure video and the content just stuck with me. Mike is very gifted when it comes to delivering content. Looking back had I have known what I know now I would have just purchased a subscription with simple nursing. There's a saying that goes smart people learn from their mistakes but wise people learn from the mistakes from others. I want you to learn from my mistakes, purchase simple nursing and go through as much content as possible especially the pharm content.

      Just say "I haven't passed yet." Don't take it as a failure but see it as a learning opportunity. There is a lot of power in "Yet", you are telling yourself that you will get there and that your eyes and heart are still fixed on your goal.

    You said "never leave the room", but what if the client state they want to be left alone?

  • @PinkYellowGreen2023
    @PinkYellowGreen2023 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Blaming nurses for things they didn't do is a form of communication that is toxic. Criticizing each other harshly like they are perfect angels is another. Nurses also become toxic communicators when they start checking up on other nurses patients to show their nursing judgement is better than another! We all learned the same things yet run around competing and trying to out perform each other on the job. For nurses to be gifted in the area of therapeutic communication- alot of nurses seem to use their gifts erroneously and harshly.

    Hello, what if you have to ask OPEN - ended questions? I am confused 🤷🏿‍♀️

    • @cedeirdredumond2217
      @cedeirdredumond2217 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Open ended questions are supposed to be asked. To get mor information out of the patient. Asking a closed ended question will get you a "yes" or "no" and that cuts the communication short.
