Hi Sara, I'm a 3rd year student of BSN in the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico and I would like to see if you can make a lecture about professional Essential Behaviors in Nursing Assessment. Thanks in advance!
Watching your videos is like going to God in prayers because you know He will not disappoint you or leave you empty handed. God and your videos are why I'm still in nursing school. I watch your videos b/4 ever I start reading. More power to your elbow!
Thanks for taking the time to create and upload all these videos. People like you are making a real difference in how people learn and succeed. I have ADHD and school has always been a real pain in the ass for me, but all the extra help I can find here on youtube has done a lot to level the playing field for me.
I'm glad it's helped you. I'm currently a student recently diagnosed (6 months ago!) and I'm struggling so hard finding study habits. Will definitely try to implement tips from this video
I'm a Nationally Certified Counselor and I'm going back to school to study to become a psychiatric nurse... thanks for posting your video. I feel a little more at ease going back to study becuase nursing is so far out of my element, but I want to be able to stay in my field and better serve my patients. I'm so excited about expanding my knowledge in the field of mental health and looking forward to nursing. Again, thank you.
your god set, you are helping me get through nursing school. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I am never disappointed after watching any of your videos.
Your teacher sounds amazing! Mine literally doesn't explain much. When I asked him how to study, he literally told me to stop stressing, it is a easy A class.... I am so frustrated. So your video help! TY
Thank you for helping me through semester 1 of nursing school! Now it’s summer break before semester 2 and I’m watching your videos to know what to expect this fall:) ❤
Omg thank you so much! This was really helpful!!!! I’ve watched a lot and will keep watching your videos. God bless you girl. This is your gift! I think I speak for a lot of nursing students when I say we appreciate this!!!! Thank you!
Hey Ms. RN! Happy to be seeing you again for my Psych NUR class! Next semester is Peds and maternity! Then I become a senior! You are such a blessing I say again thank u!
Thank you so much for the tips! i'll definitely implement these in my studies however i'd love it if you considered to make more Mental Health videos.Your video's have been such a great help to my colleagues and i since the past year, it has helped me through Patho-physiology, Health assessment and countless other courses. Anyways, I really do hope you consider! Thanks again for all the videos and also coming along with us on our journey through nursing school with your content.
+Ashley D. Hey Ashley :) That is so awesome! Thanks for following up and letting me know how you ended up performing the class. I remember when you requested this video over the winter. When will you be graduating? I know you probably can't wait!
+Ashley D. Awesome! It will be here before you know it, and this time next year you will be working as a nurse and already have several months of experience under your belt!
Thank you! Really helpful info! I wish you did a Mental Status Examination Video.. I have my Mental Health Practical exam the 30th.. wish me luck! keep up the good work!!
i like my friend who just became a nurse. she is very grounded when i tell her i have a problem. she is not that stupid in believing me in the things i hear or i see. she helps me be practical. this is what i need. a therapist who helps me see the practical side of my own irrational/impractical beliefs. i need to be more realistic even though imagination is important to be creative but being practical helps me forget i have generalized anxiety. :)
Hello Ashley :) Thank you for watching my videos. I will definitely be covering these topics in the future. So, always stay tuned. Best wishes with your studies :)
+Ashley D. You're very welcome, Ashley! Thank you for this awesome video request! Glad you found it helpful and I wish you the best of luck in the class :) I hope you enjoy winter break!
turkyish Glad you liked the video :) Are you wondering about the classes or the profession itself? I think it depends on where your interest is because if you are interested in something it makes it easier. So, with that being said mental health nursing would probably be easier if a person was interested in it because it's specialized and focuses on mental health. General nursing would cover a wider amount of material and would be more difficult in that you have to know more about many areas of nursing (not just mental health). I hope that makes sense :)
Thank you for the tips! I will try your recommendation, but what if your professor doesn't give you a study guide? We were told we only get one for the final.
Third semester here, just reflecting on how quickly the video quality has changed. The content has always been quality, but the evolution from a blurry whiteboard to a Streamlined TH-cam channel is dramatic.
Just finished my first semester of nursing school and I have mental health next! While I found my study methods.. I found it a bit difficult to mesh into a study group. I never seem to be confident enough that it would be beneficial for me. Do you have any tips for study groups?
+Wander Slate Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a comment. Great question! Personally, I never found study groups beneficial because I am a read-write learner and I study best all by myself. What type of learner are you because study groups may not be your thing? Here is a video I made about different learning types and how to study based on your type: th-cam.com/video/iOYJ2XdQhFc/w-d-xo.html Tactile and auditory learners do okay in them. My tips for you would be to make sure study groups are for you and if so I would suggest may be having everyone present a topic with practice questions that everyone can practice. I think the key for a study group to be successful is that it stays focused and that everyone brings something to it (notes, study guides, practice questions etc). Sometimes study groups tend to go off topic and people start talking about other things, but they can be great if they are done right. I hope that helps :)
I suggest trying to develop your own mnemonics to help you remember them. This has always helped me and if you make the mnemonic unique to something that is personal to you it really helps :)
wonderful videos! just correcting a spelling mistake though, you have the two eating disorders you mentioned, on the board, written as "bulumina & anoxerica" and i believe you were referring to "bulimia and anorexia nervosa"- still understood the concepts It was just bothering me throughout the video!
+Breanna Webster Thank you for your comment, Breanna! Sorry about the misspelling....my hand sometimes goes faster than my brain haha. Glad you liked the videos....wish you the best in nursing school :)
Hey Sarah, around beginning of 9th minute, you say you made a video about “how to assess what type of learner you are…” I’ve been trying to search for this video throughout your channel because I can’t find a link in this video’s description or anywhere. If you get the chance, any ideas which video it might be? Thanks!
Hello :) This video is no longer available. We no longer advocate these types of theories but suggest that you find what works for you regarding how you learn best and use it. Thanks for your interest in the video.
thanks for your upgrading whether undergraduate and postgraduate .for the last five years to think how to improve mental health as post graduate study due to no any specialist for mental health so my question is there any scholarship involved mental health ? thanks for responding
+Cabdilaahi Dalmar Thanks for your question. There are scholarships available for nursing. The best advice I can offer is to check with a local university. In addition, my husband did a video covering common ways to pay for nursing school (financial aid, scholarships, etc.). You can watch that video here: th-cam.com/video/WRjXISYU3Fs/w-d-xo.html
I am in Australia and our course is horrible, starts with DSM diagnosis, MSE and history of madness. Nothing was mentioned from chapter to chapter, from different types of diseases
Jesus spoke to them again: "I am the light of the world, anyone who follows Me will never walk in the darkness but will have the light of life." John 8 : 12
I have been having an inner battle between social work and nursing. Is a long story but in short, I like counseling so much but also nursing because I really see it so exciting. I like psychiatric and cardiology. When I walked to the hospital to volunteer, I pass a building call "Saint John Cardiovascular Research" so when I remember my debate between these two careers I go indecisive and my heart hurts. 😔 Also, I will be taking an abnormal psychology course. Is this like mental health nursing? Thanks 💛
I suggest buying a good resource guide like Saunders Comprehensive Review for NCLEX. Then start practicing questions and reading the content in the book. Try to practice 100s of question a day. I don't have anything on renal at the moment. I will definitely be adding a series on this in the future. Thanks for watching my videos!
Have anyone used Introductory Mental Health Nursing edition3 ? ... because I am having a hard time taking the test due to the fact that the test questions are nothing like the book !
Regroup and practice some more. Believe in YOURSELF and remember why you want to be A Nurse. MOST IMPORTANTLY Be KIND to YOURSELF. Wish youAll the best
