Hey man. I know you've been going through a rough patch, so I just want to let you know how much I appreciate you, and these videos. They're entertaining, and interesting when I'm happy, and they help me relax, and escape when I'm having a rough time. I'm glad you bought yourself that Music & Video sign, you deserve it.
thanks for doing these videos...without them there would be a lot of these stores I would never get to see ...as I watch it makes me think ,why did these places close ,thanks again wallie , good job
Hey! I mentioned this location to you a while back. Really miss this store, now the only choice left is Walmart. I think this store did okay and one of the managers told me before they closed that Sears in the mall was losing more money than this store, but they closed Kmart first. In its heyday, this store did a great business. Part of the problem is the company that owns the mall, they do absolutely NOTHING to try to refurbish or invest in it to try and lure new stores here, they just simply sit back and let the empty storefronts multiply. With IUP here, there should be much more in Indiana than what we have. You will have to check out Sears before it closes this month. Keep up the great job, really enjoy your videos, Happy New Year.
Thank you for filming this. Funny you filmed it on Dec 31 which is my birthday. SPent this past New Years Eve and the one before alone but I make due.Cried somewhat being solo but oh well. Hope your holidays were great. THanks for doing all these videos. Even in the cold. You warm us with your commentary and your positive attitude.
I see Indiana plaza is deteriorating just like the Galleria mall and plaza here in Johnstown. If you want to see a sad mall, come to Johnstown, 30 minutes away from Indiana
@@WallieB26 oh I forgot to mention! You'll love the Galleria plaza, there is an abandoned circuit city, toys r us, lone star steakhouse, ponderosa, a other restaurant, and everything in the mall. It's a abandoned wonderland
That's one of my local Kmarts too! Actually was just there today. I really hope it isn't on the list for the next closures. It's like the only reason I still stop by Rotterdam Square
+Nathan, sad to say but the K-Mart in Rotterdam is closed! Won't be long until that VIA Aquarium/entertainment center closes down. Sears closed in Colonie Center as well.
I live in Indiana, the mall isn't doing too hot. I visit quite a bit, and other than the cinema, it rarely gets any business. Everything is slowly going on a downward spiral.
Maddy Fairman I live on North 4th Street between BILO and Sheetz and sometimes take the 1 or the 5 to the mall just to get on the 6 into Blairsville or Blacklick (I have friends down there). I never actually go into the mall anymore unless I need to go to PennDOT or I'm hungry for Subway. Other than that, there's really nothing to love about the mall other than the fact that it's perfect for Indigo to dock.
Hello. Spirit Halloween is opening a store in the former K-Mart at the Indiana Mall. There is still K-Mart signage in it. A Khols is also opening at the Indiana Mall. The mall is trying.
We had a mall Kmart in Williamson, KY. I do not think the logo was ever updated in the mall interior or exterior. It is of course, closed. It became a Magic Mart (local discount store), which is now closed. As far as I know, the anchor space is still empty.
_Both_ Sears and Kmart locations closing at the same mall. That's what you get when you put a hedge fund manager who's a follower of Ayn Rand in charge of a retail company.
I remember when I was at this K-Mart check out and there was a bad storm outside and the power went off. We just stood there smiling at each other, waiting for the electric to come back on. Pretty sad to see it all empty inside. The last thing I think I bought was a paisley tablecloth--had to say, they had a pretty good selection in every category, many good shopping memories. The only thing was the parking lot at Christmas, people were not very patient drivers last time I was there.
I work AT Spirit Halloween that is now at the closed Kmart. The Bon-Ton that was one of the 4 staples closed down too. So that's K-mart gone, Sears Gone, Bon-ton gone. Only store left is JCPenney. HARBOR FREIGHT is moving into Sears. Spirit will be gone soon as well because its seasonal. The Mall owners are horribly mean and dont support us at all. Let me know if you want any updates.
Kmart was an anchor (and I believe the first store to open) at the Schuylkill Mall in Frackville, PA. Don't look for it; it was torn down late 2017, early 2018. Middlesboro, KY, also had Kmart as a mall anchor. It closed in 2002. Later repurposed as a Steve & Barry's until they went out of business circa 2009. Location currently is a Roses. But, yes, it is a rare thing.
Bonton is supposed to be closing 1/4 of their stores and from reports the one in this mall will be closing too. Before Christmas they have a bunch of vendors that make the place look like there's actually people there. Now if you go in it's like a scene from the hills have eyes where the few employees left just stare at you from a distance as you walk around.
I remember that an older cousin of mine worked at this Kmart as a manager back in 1994 and was able to find me the Dragonzord from MMPR when they first came out. The toy was impossible to find in Ohio so my parents asked if he could set one aside if they should come upon it. As luck would have it we happened to be in town on a Sunday in April 1994 when he was working. He was headed in for a night shift and had set it aside for me! I remember he had to buy it and bring it out to our car as he could not be seen handing it to my dad in the store as it was stashed away. lol.
Reminds me of Carnation mall in Alliance,Ohio that had an attached Kmart to it which is also failing.Radio📻 today said rumors of Amazon buying Target Corp.So they would have modern brick & mortar stores to go head to head with Wal-Mart in a battle for retail dominance since Wal-Mart bought Jet.com

I used to shop at that K- Mart, it was a pretty nice store ! The mall isn't run down not vandalized.I can't believe K-Mart .Sears and Bon-Ton closed down ! I never thought I'd live to see the day that happened ! Bon- Ton needed a buyer to take over and no one bought it ! A lot of these businesses just needed to change hands.but with iup no wonder no one bought the stores ! If that mall ever does get abandoned,I'm sure iup will have its grimy little hands on the mall and turn it into more frat apartments.iup stinks !
The malls not doing well at all. The interior stores have mainly went out of business. Theres like 5 stores left with Jcpenney doing ok. I was there last week they have the bonton section with no stores at all closed off and no lights on.
Oh my god, Super Kmart in Warren, Ohio is closing. Liquidation sales begin January 12. The closure is some time in April. Also, the Kmart in hermitage pa is closing
I prefer Kmart, but there is a Sears in the shopping mall I work at, and I would actually like Sears if mine ever had employees... waiting 10 minutes at a register with no one in sight kinda ruins it :( I only go in there if my SYW rewards say I have free points to spend at Sears haha
Miss the sears catalogue, ordered often from them, as I live in a small town so it was easier just doing an order! Had a lot of great stuff, too bad it's gone!
have you ever thought of doing abandoned houses? It would be you need an idea. Now, I'm legally blind so I don't always see the fine detail that you describe however, you were very good at describing what you see in there so I can follow along with the video very well.
This is a serious question. Is everyone in that city miserable? I met a guy from there. Nice guy had everything going for him on the outside. But still miserable.
Wow I can't believe this I moved from there in 2005 and it went down hill so badly .can't believe it I used to work in Reese bros.and CVS in that .just shocked to see it so empty and stores closing left and right .wow shocked
I remember the Little Ceasers/K Cafe that was in that store. Sad to see it go but at least the K Mart in Altoona is doing good Edit: NVM the Kmart in Altoona closed. Oof
Via Port Mall (formerly known as Rotterdam Square Mall) in Schenectady New York has a Big Kmart in it, with a mall entrance and garden center just like the one in this video. I hate shopping at Walmart.. too crowded lol and after some of the things I was told about Target, I really don't desire to shop there... and besides I'm just not the type of person to shop at Target lol

Years ago before it was demalled, the now closed one in Crystal Lake, IL was part of a short lived shopping mall. Which IIRC, the name of that mall was Crystal Point Mall. It had that, and another very local department store(not a national chain) that I forget the name of. Joseph Spiess and Co? Forget the name of it, but it's probably up on Wikipedia or on another site. Galesburg, IL's struggling mall(Sandburg Mall) had a Kmart, till like 2(?) years ago.

Hi Wallie. I am at work at Walmart on lunch watching your video.
SCOTTY BEHM I hate your employer 😂
If Kmart and Sears make it past March of 2018, it will be shocking. I wish all the employees good luck in finding jobs.
My local Kmart is an anchor store in a mall like that. The Kmart is doing quite well. The mall lost the sears a few years back. Rotterdam square mall

Ok, thank you Maddy.

Thanks for keeping me company on my lunch break today.
It looks like an identical set up for the K-Mart that was in the mall in Murrells Inlet, SC. (Myrtle Beach)

Hey Wallie did you hear the last Super Kmart in Warren Ohio is closing in April?
Kmart and Sears as anchors for your mall? That's a double whammy of depression.
That was my childhood Kmart, there was a old Hills department store a mile up the road. Not sure what there now
The Hills is now an Ollies. There's also a TJ Maxx, a Dollar Tree and Martin's grocery (where Wards was).
kmart is closing the last kmart in the metro phoenix area in the march 2018 round of closings... they had 12 stores here at one time
