This video will showcase how to set up a successful yarder operation using equipment from the Platinum DLC, from start to finish. Using the Koller Yarder, Volvo EC250DL Processor, and the Volvo EC250DL with the Grapple configuration.

I always had the problem of the stockpiles to slide of to one side. your tip with rotating finaly fixed that issued for me! Thank you very much

Check out FDR logging… he has actual forestry equipment that he’s helped develop. He has to be one of the smoothest operators on here.

Ah. How do you remove the watchtower from the landings?
I used a mod called 'Map Objects Hider' it's for PC only though. 😄

i have a very good and heavy gaming laptop, but if i would ever load into that game with those stockpiles it would be the end of my laptop.. even tho i love logging and I'm pretty good at it , i have No motivation because of the lag i get when i proces 10 trees. So I'm kinda jealous here 😅 great video man👍

i just started and wow you are smooth man. I struggle a lot with the processer, when it has a log in it I can't turn it, and the tree rotates itself while processing ending in an ugly pile I spend ages on fixing.
Thank you! If you play on PC, I highly recommend the mod 'Wood Harvester Controls.' It allows you to rotate the header even when processing trees.
It's still doable without the mod, though, but it's definitely harder, as you have to use the weight from either pile to force the tree back into position again, like I do a few times in the video. 😄
I love this its really cool hey just as a suggestion could you possibly show how to properly do other types of logging using the dlc? Just ss an example we have a really unique pieces of equipment in the expansion it'll be cool to know the proper ways to use them

I could look into that! 😄 But I didn't use the mod for this guide, the only mod I used that alters the game was the 'Map Object Hider' to get rid of the watchtower.

What is your favorite way to do forestry? Like yarder operation, feller buncher skidder and procesor, normal harvester like the ponse skorpion king, or chainsaw and winch, out of all of these and some that i probably missed wich is your favorite?
It's a hard pick as I love all the different operations, but when I'm just chilling I enjoy the tree harvesters and forwarders the most. 😄
Are you using joysticks or mouse and keyboard.. personally I use a Xbox controller on pc and I still find it a bit tricky when it comes to forestry
Yeah, I could imagine it's harder to be precise with a controller compared to joysticks, of course. Personally, I use dual Thrustmaster T.16000m. 😄
Where on silverun is that landing that use use? And how do you remove to wooden watchtowers from landings?
It's on plot 25 😄 I just removed the tower using the mod ''Map Objects Hider''

Hey Charles! Unfortunately, I lost the save game from the survival series when my PC broke down last year. 😔 But I will definitely do another survival at some point on another map. 😄

How loing do you cut your logs and how do you make such good piles when you proses them
It depends, but in this video, because of the size of the landing, I cut them into 5-meter logs. And processing becomes easier as you get the pile going. 😄
Man if my game didn’t lag as much as it does I’d have a big landing like that but instead of shorts I’d go with log logs ( 12-15’s ) just easier to load in my opinion. but then yet I do only use the 2 bunk trailers
Only times shorts have ever works for me is with the big big logs. small ones idk never really liked the small ones so I just chip them
Yeah, longer logs help a lot in reducing lag! 😅 It also doesn't take as long to load, so I agree with you!
That being said, if you use the yarder on a narrow mountain road, there might not be enough space for 15-meter logs. Hehe. 😄
Hi you are great with the volvo🤩🤩 one question but how do you get the log collisions so "realistic" to me it looks like the logs don't touch each other and by a lot, when I do a load I put a lot less logs than you do because of this very problem, it really looks like there is 30 cm of space between one log and another
Does this happen to you in Silverrun Forest? Various tree species might have different hit-box collisions, which could be the cause. 😄
@@Bambis_GamerHut Yes in all maps the kind of tree doesn't change, it always gives me that problem, tank you :)
Hmm, it might be because I rotate the logs now and then? If all the ends are facing the same direction, it might look like one side is floating more in the air. But otherwise, I don't really know. I haven't done anything game-changing to the trees or logs. 😄
@@Bambis_GamerHut I don't know it's really strange...... One question do you play with the high settings? Maybe it's that I usually use a medium low so the PC doesn't explode so to "simplify" it makes my collisions square😅 tanks for tht time

Hello Pallets have stopped appearing at all factories, although I have "storage" assigned to me. It says "too many pallets", although I took everything. Don't know how to solve this problem?

"If you have too many pallets out and around the map that aren't in a bale/pallet storage eventually they will stop spawning pallets as to not make the map too laggy."thank you@@Bambis_GamerHut

can you do a torturial on how to do a nice big pile of logs cuz my piles just seem to be uneaven and ugly
I wouldn't recommend making the piles much bigger then shown in the video. Otherwise they start to get unstable and shift over time. 😄
When your processing the tree how do you get it so straight, for me it just goes off to the side.
I try to line the trees up before I begin processing. Now and then, some trees will swing a little, when this happens I try to knock it against either the tree or log pile to straighten it out again. 😄

What is the optimal log length?
Well, I personally have never tested it myself, but I believe logs ranging from 6 to 12 meters are ideal. However, I choose the lengths based on the equipment I'm using or the size of the landing I'm working on. 😄

Nope. 😄 Just spent a lot of hours doing logging in the game hehe.

Not that I'm aware off, but you might be able to find modded versions of yarders that can rig heavier loads. 😄

If you play on PC you can download the mod ''Map Objects Hider'' And if you are a console player, you can always expand the area using the in-game landscaping tool. 😁
