One thing I always enjoy is looking at everyone's different techniques. Just proving there's no perfect technique, only what works for each individual musician.
They have different technique because some of them are better than others. Dont get me wrong their all great, much better than most, but just because you can play something hard doesnt mean you have really good technique
@@edannoble4116 my point is that Micheal Angelo batio has a super weird grip on his sweeps, and there are probably 3 or 4 different methods of sweep picking in this video, and they all accomplish what they want. Sure some players could be more strictly ergonomic or have less wasted motion. But the pursuit of perfection isn't the goal. It's expressing yourself. That's the entire goal of this video series I think, showing off everyone's playing style, what THEY consider perfect shred.

What a blast! Honored to collab with such an amazing group of talented people. Merry Xmas everybody 🎸🔥 que bestia! Extra hug to Jared for putting this together!
My favorite was Ola Englund's guitar solo, for some reason his style just tickles me the right way. The biggest surprise for me was seeing Kevin Frasard in this, I never coulda expected that but I'm very happy to see it.
1:45 I can't get over the fact that Dan Sugarman's entire solo sounded like he listened to every entry from last year's collab and said "Alright I'm doing all of those"
This isn’t a shred collab; this is the bow wave of the art of guitar. The best thing in the history of guitar youtube. Thank you to every artist that shared their stuff.
Ichikas part with the synthtar was super sick. Really clever to use weird stuff to help stand out, even though way too many people crushed it to name them all.
I feel bad that they put the two bass players right beside each other in the playing order because... Davie is really friggin' good, but Charles is a damn alien.

Annie Shred’s cat was such a highlight. In all seriousness though, I came here for Brandon Arcker and Bernth, and now I’m a fan of nearly every bruh and bruhette in this compilation.
Yes Charles is really taking the bass into new realms and deserves so much recognition for saying something new on the instrument beyond mere shred technique🤘🏻
Onyx Morales' part with that crazy whammy bar vibrato hammer-on solo was definitely a highlight. Everyone put it so much effort and time to make this the most epic collaboration yet!

Brandon Acker's piece was poetry. It felt like a journey through the most beautiful landscape in a fantasy medieval setting.
No one understands never in the time line of humanity has there ever been such a collaboration of talent such as this.
God Bernth's solo was such a breath of fresh air, such tasteful playing
This is one of the coolest things the guitar community does each year. I love it!
That was so much fun!! Everyone killed it. Stoked to have been invited man 💚💚
Brilliant as always, Stephen!
Big fan!
An honor to be in the shred collab with you 🙏 BEAST!!!
Looking forward to your next work! Permanence is one of my favorite albums
Your guitar looks like if Master Chief was an instrument
Manuel and Marcin WTF!! Unbelievable talent
What a blast! Honored to collab with such an amazing group of talented people.
Merry Xmas everybody 🎸🔥 que bestia!
Extra hug to Jared for putting this together!
Tim? Scotty? 😢
Yea. That’s sad:(
Literally came on expecting Tim and Scotty.... got upset when I saw this comment...
We need Clay at least
My favorite was Ola Englund's guitar solo, for some reason his style just tickles me the right way. The biggest surprise for me was seeing Kevin Frasard in this, I never coulda expected that but I'm very happy to see it.
1:45 I can't get over the fact that Dan Sugarman's entire solo sounded like he listened to every entry from last year's collab and said "Alright I'm doing all of those"
What the hell was that at the end, I've never heard something so beautiful and challenging in my life
asmr shredding lol
Check Alan out! He's absolutely amazing
That Careless Whisper reference at 23:42
LOL yep
good ear! nice Easter egg.
I was just about to post that! Lol
Yep
I heard it too! XD
Charles on Bass is on some other $hit 🤯
For reals though
I feel bad that they put the two bass players right beside each other in the playing order because... Davie is really friggin' good, but Charles is a damn alien.
@@Snakerjaker lmfao so true

Annie Shred’s cat was such a highlight.
In all seriousness though, I came here for Brandon Arcker and Bernth, and now I’m a fan of nearly every bruh and bruhette in this compilation.
Thank you guys ! Merry Christmas to all of you ❤
Merry Christmas 😀
A fantastic arrangement this year Jared, big congratulations.
(But Charles will always be my favorite).
SAME
Yes Charles is really taking the bass into new realms and deserves so much recognition for saying something new on the instrument beyond mere shred technique🤘🏻
Absolutely MAGNIFICENT lineup, best collab yet! Always so stoked to be a part of these, love you dude
Glad to have been in it with you man. Great work 🙏
Onyx Morales' part with that crazy whammy bar vibrato hammer-on solo was definitely a highlight. Everyone put it so much effort and time to make this the most epic collaboration yet!

Freakin' loved your part. It was heavy, melodic, and arranged in an interesting way. Really cool seeing how artists find a way to stand out in a collab full of insane talents like this
Favorite part ;)
Always a standout from the crowd
Sick solo man! So glad to be in the collab with you 🙏
I really miss you in the shred collabs, glad you're back
That guitarist!
And that one!
That one, too!
Man, volumes could be written about all of the players. I can't write about a single one. What an exceptional compilation. What a treat.
I’m 32 and been playing since I was 12. And I can’t recall the last guitar player to truly blow me away like Marcin. His spot last year was breathtaking and this years truly inspired me
Edit: This is the best shred collab to date. And Ive been watching these every year since the first.
This is the best shred collab by far. So many beastly players this year, both popular and lesser known peeps
The tapping with the ring at 4:54 was so slick
🙏🏼💙
Holy. Ive listened to his part at least 10 times and hadn’t even realized.
Bumblefoot style lol except i guess he wears the thimble and not a ring
@@codylucas4634 yeah the main purpose of my use is to get past the frets but still have all my fingers free conventionally speaking. Bumblefoot’s is great though because you can slide with it as well 👌🏼
@@Tramaineguitar your solo is easily one of the best in the Collab and i cant believe ive never seen you on youtube up until the contest lol

Rafa at 12:58 stood out to me the most. Everything tickled my ears just right. Insane player #respect

Right? I remember him from other Dines videos about history of guitar, and seeing him in this ensemble brought joy to my heart!
Trust me, writing 3 solos for one collab wasn’t easy haha but it was totally worth it! I can’t be happier to be a part of this amazing roster at 21:33. The acoustic segments were definitely a much needed reprieve. Great stuff.
This collab really has become a christmas tradition

A First of October album and a Christmas Shred Collab. My two favorite musical traditions.
totally!
Dude that triple neck guitar at 26:15 was so insane!. It gave a super necessary break to all the high gain stuff.
Marcin, Rafa, and Lwandile made me delay the WHOLE video literally a dozen times each before moving on...amazing talents all.
Marcin and Gardner right next to eachother got me fucked up bro
My solo is at 27:47 !!

those harmonics on the slide down were legit some of the most insane i've ever heard and seen.
I thought you were talking about the guy in the beginning… then I got to his part.
luca superior
he truly is, his part was mindblowing
Didn't expect rudy to kill it with this juicy lo-fi lead. One of my favourites along with manuel, marcin, bernth and andromida. It's my top 5)
Agree, they sound unique. The rest I didn't even remember, it was like the same song 36 min straight
Bernth do be in that one of a kind class
I've never been a big fan of Rudy, but yea I felt the same way when I heard that. He killed it
@@RealNomadicus agreed. His style is quite unique
Hold up. What is going on? 5:30 this is insane!
I hate to break it to you, but there's this kid named Tim Henson...
Lovely playing, manuel is amazing

6:24 is why I had to HAD to thumb this up. I don't think Marcin has been in one of these before, brought a tear to my eye. Lwandile Prusent's was mind bending awesomeness! Onyx Morales ripped all of our faces off! This whole thing was absolutely spectacular.
Marcin is phenomenal. He was actually in last year’s shred collab for the first time. He was the last player😊
@@lmcphee1 Oh crap, I forgot.
I gotta say the women that showed up for this one were amazing. Definitely showcased way more talent this year than years past. That was spectacular
