- Personally I choose the ERA. - We own a DSR+. It is a great shooter and the shot quality is pretty hard to beat. However, I haven't been a huge fan of the dye feature set (mainly the eye design and eyepipe) since '07. I find some of the design choices are not great, like the ASA knob is hard to turn with gloves on and is made of plastic. I also never liked the way you adjust the UL triggers and I find the their toolless grips annoying. So mainly, my personal preferences don't really line up well with the current design choices of Dye. Still a really good shooter though and if I had to shoot one, I wouldn't mind. - I haven't played with the 180r, but have shot multiple, and they all had a different shot quality; ranging from awesome to not that great. However, they still shot paint at 10.5. I liked the 170r more. I feel like QC at Planet Eclipse has been slipping with the current generation of markers. Even my LV2 was the second one from the shop because the first one had a bad leak out of the solenoid. Not a HUGE deal since PE has some of the best support in the industry and will make it right, but just an observation. - I was really impressed with the ERA in a non-surprising way. We have owned 3 Amps, All of which shot well. It isn't the fanciest gun with all the latest features, but the amp always shot well and never let me down. The ERA fixed pretty much everything I personally had issue with the Amp, the main being the bolt speed and more distance between the bottom of the ASA and the top of the frame (i do not care about toolless eye covers). It shoots about the same if not better, is a workhorse, has everything I need and nothing I don't care about.
i have had to return all the Eras i have barrowed but after a considerable amount of trigger time with them, i can confidently say it is my favorite marker released recently. It is a no nonsense workhorse that is competitively priced and can shoot any paint with ease.

@@nitrospice1222 I would recomend looking at the Etha3 and the Shocker Amp. if you want to spend a little more on something a little nicer, the Shocker ERA. No need to spend more than $1k on a marker to be competitive on the field - The Etha3 is a great first marker with plenty of aftermarket parts to make it your own. i would not mind playing an event with it. Is also a great platform to learn on when it comes to marker maintenance and customization. - The Amp is a solid marker that i have used in events several times. pretty much my workhorse. you can still find them new but there are plenty on the used market for even lower prices. - The ERA is just a refined Amp, in all the right ways. I will be getting one as soon as I can.
I don't even know. Pretty sure it was the paint. We were all having wacky issues that day. Also 30 degrees after sitting for a bit and never cleaned probably didn't help
If brand new, for me it would be CZR, Axe, Etha 3, Gtek 180r, ... and I wouldn't buy anything more expensive than that lol. But if used, I'd probably pick up a DSR.

i just got my hands on an ido this weekend, so i havent had a lot of time to make the comparison. However, the Idol does have an incredable shot.

I would go PE no matter what the price point I am at.
