    Three Corrections to this Video:
    1. You have to subscribe to the "Mod Hub" mod in addition to "Sandbox Utilities"
    2. You need > 60 FPS to clip easily into the side.
    3. When the drop pod is about to come down, and it clears the ground around you, figure out a way to cling to side a little way above the bottom, right where the bottom of the seats are going to be or where the angle of the cut changes to be more vertical, and then jump for the interior when the pod lands on you.
    Sorry about that.

    This is a great reference for some of these tricks, nice to see process of learning the tech, it's honest and shows how muddy learning DRG is. Many conflicting methods and hazy understanding of concepts even by people who preform them regularly. Sorry I didn't see this right away but also thank you for including me in the discussion. You are welcome to ask me questions about any of the mechanics you are investigating or making a video on. Shout outs to Assembly for Sandbox Utilities. Refreshing to see a video endorse the tool without even going to the sandbox room. Usually it's like a graphing calculator that people seem to only use to add two whole numbers together.

      Communication is hard. Most people say stuff and think they got across what they meant to convey. I'm an old interface developer, technical marketer, and technical documentation person and I understand how terrible language can be for conveying precise information, so I'm used to it, and trying to make sense of it for others. I actually like the *second* video better than this one, as it's more precise and has much better instructions for doing things efficiently. *laughs* I may have to retitle that one or something... not sure.
      And you hit a point on the head that I'd run into was that "the Sandbox" is nearly always presented by DRG creators as that box room... and when I figured out there was SO MUCH MORE to it, I had to really take advantage of that, as the drop pod doesn't always just appear in the middle of a big room with a clean floor.
      But, yeah... thank you so much!! I will definitely contact you (probably Discord, feel free to friend me and we'll figure things out) when I get back, and I'd love it if you could take me out to demonstrate some of these tricks, and I'll figure out if there are good ways to present them so anyone can learn them. Some of the ones I know my guys were particularly interested in were the throw-grapple-catch, the action canceling for mining, and maybe a more intuitive grasp of the difference between speed running Haz 2 and the DD's versus Haz 5 and the EDDs and maybe interesting approaches to allow newer players to just TRY the lower haz runs more frequently. Even if it's just to post more times on the speed running boards. Heck, that might be a tutorial in and of itself... how to get to and participate in speed runs no matter ones level.
      You want more people doing them, I'll try and help lower the barriers of entry.

      I managed eventho I was hosting! But I'm also playing just below 60 fps, so not sure if that matters as much as they say...

    Sandbox is such a fantastic tool to use for practicing speedruns, dread fights, and builds! The free cam helps out so much in routing and figuring out shortcuts in the caves. In your last video using sandbox utilities, I couldn't figure out how you got bosco and molly in the sandbox with you. I did end up figuring it out: I was used to starting the sandbox from the space rig instead of starting a mission and THEN creating a sandbox lol.
    If I may, a point of correction at 5:11, the molly door clip is easier at MORE than 60 fps. I've tried getting in at various frame rates and have had the least success at 30 fps. Beni and I agree that success tends to increase the higher the fps but also agree that it isn't impossible as a host and around 60 fps.
    Not sure what your game's framerate was while recording for this video but it looks like you're getting the hang of it really well! Hope to run into you on Hoxxes sometime! ⛏

      Thanks for the correction!! I appreciate that a LOT. I wouldn't have thought of starting the sandbox in the space rig, either, so that's good to know as well.

    It sure would be nice if anywhere listed what all the sandbox hotkeys are,

      I realized, finally, that you might not have the Mod HUD installed as a mod. You need that in order to control all the mods.

  • @vkaa3k190
    @vkaa3k190 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

    the H button doesn't work, it just toggles your HUD and there is no mission tab or whatever to pull the sandbox once you are in. I guess the mod has changed like 1000 times, but it's extremely confusing that I need to do so many steps just to access something which other games have by default (Ultrakill for eg)

    • @Autogyro.001
      @Autogyro.001  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      After you've installed the sandbox mod, created a modded save file and loaded all that, it should show up as something on the left side, as one of the mods in the mod hud. You need to click on it before all the tabs appear.
      It *is* confusing compared to other mod setups, Ghost Ship has, from what I've heard, been really reluctant to make modding actually easy or simple to use. They've even had weird politics over some of the mods. Factorio has it so much better. Still...

    • @Autogyro.001
      @Autogyro.001  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah, you're right. It is confusing, and I think I also left out subscribing to the "Mod HUD" mod as well, which I am really upset at myself about, as I just had it as a default thing because of my other mods. I've changed my Steam tutorial on this to reflect what needs to be done, and I'm contemplating making another video to put in ALL the information I've learned in the last year, including when I was doing speed runs with this tech.

    Hello, I'm kind of new to modding.
    I only have VERIFIED mod so I can have a "legit" save (mods that add utility, quality of life)
    I wanted to try the Sandbox Utilities to try weapons, builds, spawning glyphid ect... But I'm scared if I click "Subscribe" than my save, all my progress won't be "legit" anymore.

    • @Autogyro.001
      @Autogyro.001  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Deep Rock automatically saves your legit, original save file to another place than your sandbox save. So it keeps them completely separate and when you turn off the sandbox utilities, it'll go back to your legit, original save.
      When you play in the sandbox, it'll show your lobby, if you leave it open to the public, as being modded that isn't verified. When you leave, that tag/warning will come off your lobbies.
      Hope that helps you!!

      Ah... I guess whatever your configuration uses to open the modhub would work instead of H? Check your keybinds to figure out which that now is?

    • @Autogyro.001
      @Autogyro.001  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Ack. Okay. I just realized you also have to subscribe to the "Mod HUD" mod. I'm going to have to redo this someday, as most of the latter information is also inaccurate, but if you put in the "Mod HUD" as well, you'll have the H and all the other stuff with it.
