Started walking a year ago. I walk 60 minutes everyday on treadmill. Im now addicted to it. Last years clothes are now too big. I went from a 6 to a 2! I feel much better at 61 than I did at 60. Happy to get rid of. I sell most items online. If they’re still in style you can sell most everything. It’s a lot of fun, and gives me extra cash for new.
Honestly I have never liked to show my arms. I am 41, and I am still not comfortable showing my arms even though I do strength training 5 days a week ….I like to wear crochet tops or lightweight cardigans that are soft and breathable or a white linen button down. You can wear just about anything you want underneath these. So these are my 3 go to’s to hide my flabby abby arms 😂
I think the suiting vests look great on Anna, but I prefer sleeves in the summer, because I’m usually cold. I’m in Colorado, not Florida, and I’m usually cold in sleeveless tops, even in the summer.
Anna, you mentioned those spaghetti strap tank tops that we were wearing years back. I love these for under sheer blouses and tops and under blazers and jackets. They are a great underpinning. I wouldn’t wear them on their own, but as an underpinning, they are great. Especially for travel, they pack really thin and I can have a clean white tank top everyday.
I will never ever get rid of the concert T-shirts of concerts that I went to. Those actually have some meaning in my life and experience that I had You’ll be ripping my Pearl Jam T-shirt out of my cold, dead hands, and especially my Alice In Chains shirt. I was there that means more than anything someone on TH-cam could ever say
Yeah I love me a t-shirt too. I just make sure that whatever I'm wearing is something that I want to support. Because we're basically giving them free advertising lol so all of my t-shirts are my favorite movies or bands or whatever. You won't see me wearing a Taylor Swift t-shirt if I don't listen to Taylor Swift if that makes sense.
Regarding trying things on to see if they look good on you. If you can, I REALLY recommend setting up a cheap tripod (mine was $30 on Amazon) and snapping some pics to look back at. I had a few pieces I was going to sell because I just felt like they looked “meh” on me in the mirror, but when I looked at the pics I was like “Oh my gosh, that dress actually looks really good on me” 😆. And the reverse can also happen… where something you think looks pretty good… in pics… not so much. You can just get more angles and a more “full” view of yourself in a pic then you can in the mirror. 😘. Love your channel always Anna!
I have a few "kimonos" & really like the silky ones as a fancy robe over a silky night gown. The rayon one is a nice light cover up or jacket in the Summer. If you throw it over a sleeveless dress & belt it, it can look quite nice. But my style is pretty Boho/vintage & I love uneven hemlines, hanky hemlines, embroidery, India prints, paisley, oriental florals, granny boots, gladiator sandals, dusters, etc. & don't plan on stopping wearing them any time soon. While skinny jeans have their place (in the winter w boots & an oversized sweater), I was really glad when bootcut, flares, wide & straight leg came back. It's nice to be able to bend at the knee lol.
Excellent advice! I just did a big Marie Kondo type closet purge a couple of months ago and got rid of half of everything I own. FEELS AMAZING! Light and free, clean and clear. I took literally everything out of my closet and tried on things I hadn't worn in a while. A few things I put in storage but was able to donate the rest to others who may need and appreciate them.
For the cold shoulder tops, if you still love the top you can have the sleeves removed (at a tailor or maybe you have a friend/family member who can sew) and wear it as a sleeveless top. I changed a few of mine and they turned out great!
The main thing that helped me wear my clothes and not feel overwhelmed, is by packing away the winter clothes come spring and summer. It frees up so much space. Same with packing away summer clothes for winter. I put all the clothes I wear on cruises in their own container. Cruise/resort clothes and shoes are a totally different monster.
Too true for many of us and so sensible. Why did sensible come a dirty word when many of us have bills to pay and no money available for keeping up with fashion. We are told that find out what suits you and keep a hold of it now matter what the fashion. That’s good …..how you dress becomes part of your personality .. it works, I am quite old and most of my look is a little bit of every years that works for my body and my personality. ‘Fashion’ wants us new every year but that is only to make a huge profit, make loads of money, travel the world and meet new easy to manipulate new customers. Do what you feel is 4ight and good for yourself. Money doesn’t grow on trees.
I am watching this to know what not to buy or wear lol One thing I have gotten rid of are clothes with fabrics that are not comfortable. I am all in now with natural fabrics that are breathable. Menopause hot flashes taught me a lot lol I am thankfully past the flashes, but it made me transition to good well made clothes lol
Me, too, friend! I also discovered that I have skin allergies to plastics, no wonder I was so miserable in all that polyester, etc. Natural, breathable fibers only forever.🙂
I had a favourite hoody and after washing it I saw there was still a stain so I decided to just wear it in the house. I did this for a few weeks, washing it as needed, and I noticed that after multiple washings, the original stain had washed out! So glad I never got rid of it!!
I keep some professional strength Dawn dish soap by my laundry area. Scrubbing with a wet rag or old toothbrush & a bit of that soap, then chuck in the wash. Does wonders for stubborn stains, grease etc. better than "stain removers".
I work in a machine shop and I bought about 20 high neck tanks from Target for $8 for both work AND home. The scoop necks are good, too, but I prefer to be modest at work regardless of whether some of the other women in the plant wearing shorts and spaghetti strap tanks because it’s “too hot”…. My high neck tanks are professional and stylish so I’m happy! I may buy more to pack away at the end of the season since they’re likely not going to be the same style/fit next summer. Thanks for the video ❤
I am for sure inspired. I’ve lost a lot of weight this past year. Hard not to hang on to the larger sizes. “Just in case”. Love the ideas. And the ladies here are awesome. ❤❤
I live in Florida and we cruise a bunch. I love a nice kimono over a casual strappy maxi dress. It adds a whimsical light weight cover for the girls that want to cover their arms, but don't want to pull out a balero or heavier style of shoulder cover. I still love a kimono in my plus sized 47 year old hot Florida beachy world.
I used to live in Jacksonville so I understand. I have a beachy/boho-chic/princess style so kimonos, especially lacy, colorful ones, will never retire from my closet lol
I collect kimonoes...( Im up to 87)But wear with my gauze maxi dresses... here in fl its the only way i can layer or be "arm" modest without suffocating in my clothes... But at my age i get away with being "dated" so yea my kimonos are and will always be in style... ❤ Some of your tips though are helpful... ❤❤❤
Yes, it's frustrating to see more of this "trash or donate" when the amount of textile waste generated by fast fashion industries is already such a problem.
Hi Anna- I’d like to add to your well thoughtout list of decluttering with a suggestion. There are many townships, cities & states that have placed recycle bins(like the big goodwill metal type) around high traffic areas in strip centers, parking lots, big box store parking lots. Companies recycle unusable/worn out clothing and shoes and the city gets $ for their coffers. I keep a bag in my car trunk and add to it. It’s my little way of keeping clothing & recyclables out of landfills(may be a Pollyanna-ish view, but I’m trying to do my part for this earth)..great video , thanks for all you do 🙏🏻
You gave a LOT of great tips!! Thank you!❤ I'm a BIG fan of pointy-toed shoes, too! They are just so flattering for anyone! I just replaced a pair of black flats that were velvet(?) with an almost identical pair in leather. You know the style, pointy toe, sides bare, and heel cap. I love them because NOW they go with any style: shorts, slacks or dresses. When I wear them with shorts especially, my legs look a mile long! 😍 I don't why in this particular video, but it REALLY struck me just HOW much work you've put into it! ALL the changes of clothes PLUS the modeling of them, then editing the 5-7 second clip that works from out of probably 5 minutes in each outfit. Your hard work really shows in the professional, entertaining, informative, and just plain FUN videos!🤩 I appreciate all of your hard work! I'm so happy I stumbled across you!
Mr. Clean magic eraser is wonderful for cleaning shoes, especially leather athletic shoes. You can't go wrong with a breton stripe in a classic fit, also a classic white or black crew-neck t-shirt in both long & short sleeves. For jeans, Levi 501, classic strait-leg fit, NO distressing, that's just not not for me. Ballet flats, cap-toe espadrilles, & classic Keds sneakers. My 'three words'... Simple, classic, comfortable.
Hard truths. Sitting with what’s left is solid advice. Intentional next steps. The kick from the buy is powerful but I have a lot of trend led pieces in my closet that I’ve been apparently buying for my fantasy self. Sitting with all of this. Thanks, Anna!
Another clear, kind and useful video! I agree with all your closet edits and would like to throw these ideas out there for consideration: 1. Extend the use of sequin tops by wearing them under a chiffon layer. The chiffon softens the boldness of the sequins and seeing the unexpected sparkle is fun. Sumer sequins are fun at every event that has fireworks regardless of the casual nature of the event. My red sequin top is my 4th of July at the beach favorite with a chambray shirt or jean jacket. 2. Repurpose the spaghetti strap tanks, short-shorts and kimono dusters as pj's and robes. Limit the quantity retained because "saving" clothes to repurpose is quite a rabbit hole. I like to wear freshly washed PJs every night so a few extras come in handy. I also repurposed one or two printed cotton jersey dresses that are good for lounging and sleeping in. They are in good shape and I don't mind sleeping in tie-dye or last year's floral print. I like your kimono as a beach coverup idea too, but then it depends on how dated the print is. When I tried it, I just felt I could do better in an old white men's shirt or my chambray shirt. I don't know if I should be proud of this, but I can honestly say that I disposed of most of the out-of-style pieces due to staining them. Somehow, big boobs are just a magnet for lunch stains in spite of pre-treating my laundry. Maybe I need to invest in washable scarves that I can tie to my purse after eating. Ha-ha. That's my new trend. 😬😂🤣😭
lol I wore an old school/vintage, boat neck j crew striped shirt with embellished neckline to dinner the other night and 2 people stopped by my table to compliment it and ask where it was from 😂😂 it always amuses me how things get labeled “dated”. I wear what I like and what looks good on me 🤷🏼♀️ And yeah I wear my authentic concert ts and graphic ts with a jacket etc, but only keep the really great ones.
Thank you so much for this video!!! I’ve been sick and in bed for basically two years. Now I’m so confused with how to jump back into fashion. I’ve been more interested in knowing what is clearly out of style and not coming back than what is trendy for this season. So this video is gold! You’re the best!
Great video for those of us who want to hold on to too much stuff. I think the only thing that I may hold on to is a few graphic t shirts and a couple of kimonos. I did get rid of many of these already. Otherwise, the recommendations are very helpful.
I feel better now after watching this video, you more or less confirmed all of the things I thought! I've been doing a serious closet clean out already and this is a help, thank you!
Happy Mother’s Day! Good encouragement to get organized. Following your suggestions should make getting ready in the morning easier. My closet currently looks like a mess ☹️
Perfect time of year for this advice and helpful tips. I have to be so strong shopping not to be tempted buying prints. You are so right. They are the first to loose their charm! Solids and stripes are much more timeless and easily matched. Thanks for your videos...love them!
I would like to just announce that 6 mins into this video I have a great big box of stuff I'm just not into right now, but have felt guilty throwing away. Thank you for giving me permission to make a box to put away instead of having to give everything away. Brilliant! TYSM! Been stuck with an overflowing double set of closets for a couple years.
I do this checking and donation of my woodrow every autumn and spring time. It is a general cleaning and checking as you have mentioned in this video. It's very helpful, I do feel better after that. Thank you very much for your interesting video, well done 👍❤
Just like yellow washes you out, green does the same to me! I still kept some of green bottoms, but cannot wear anything green on top. Great video! Thank you for all the tips!😁
Anna, You've touched on nearly every area I needed help in. Thank you. I really appreciate how you provide suggested alternatives when you are making a recommendation to remove. That's so helpful!
I’m loving this version of Anna video- with the kind but firm reminder that if people are going to be offended, they are free to stop the video. Love that! Too many people offended over silly things these days! In every video, you affirm that we should wear what makes us feel beautiful….so we should heed that advice, NOT GET OFFENDED, and move on with our days! 🩷💜
9:50 the spaghetti strap tank top thing I disagree with. I don’t wear it as a top layer but as an undershirt or to add a modesty panel to low cut shirts.
Great video Anna! Ditching the prints for classic solids such a simple good idea. I've always had loads of prints and you are correct, they get dated faster than anything. That was great when I owned retail stores for 30 years and had to represent the store....LOL....but those days are over. I'm learning how to keep it classic, fit and fabric feel right, and with a stylish edge from videos on your channel. Kudos fellow Florida chick!
Great video on tips of getting rid of clothes to donate. Definitely chose some clothes from the past that should go to a charity or shelter. Hope you’re enjoying your Mother’s Day!! 😊❤️
This was the first video of yours I have watched , I love it. I'm obsessed with linen at the moment, linen shirts, wide legged pants and dresses. I've never been a print type of person apart from the odd dress, and the last time I wore ripped jeans was more than 40 years ago 😂. I love the way you presented this video, I could see you in a movie like Sex in the City, great sense of humour and you look stunning. I'll be watching more of your videos, thank you.
I’ve gotten into a habit of doing try ons every spring and fall when swapping out my clothes for the new season and getting rid of a few pieces and adding a few new pieces. I find it somewhat excited for the new season.
Your ditch-it suggestions are spot-on. I did a closet purge last weekend and tossed a ton of stuff in most of these categories because they seem dated to me too. I've never liked ripped jeans or jeggings, so I don't own those, lol.
I sure am not a yellow person too. I am a winter and it is so true for me Thanks for the video. I needed it! Lol. I think about those styles that are going to come back around.
I just did this over the weekend and I space bagged the sweaters that I will not be using. I live in South Florida and I noticed that I am regressing into being lazy with my wardrobe. It was an eye opening experience. Love your videos and your make up is spectacular today.
It’s all relevant. I thought your beige waistcoat and your short shorts looked really great on you. Quite classic……..even classic changes. I am very old and live in a roomy house so I kept good quality clothes or those that were in very good condition, had a good label, or plenty of wear I kept. For the last four years I have been in and out of hospital…having my upstairs shop has contributed greatly to my recovery. I can’t get out much but getting something from my ‘upstairs shop’ has been vital to my recovery. If I am still interested in what people are wearing and what I can use from what I already have has kicked me back in to today, provided a lot of interest and excitement. It may be only in the home but I have people coming and going all the time and I enjoy having a foot in today without spending any money. I won’t be written off and clothes are the signifier if you are ready to let go.
I go through my closet every season. Some older clothes remain because they are still ok. I recently did get rid of several embellished tops that I rarely wore but kept for some dumb reason😂. And some dated shoes. I probably won’t buy anymore florals because they really date quickly and they no longer appeal to me. Loved this video and your sense of humor.
Fabulous video! As you were talking I was picturing things in my closet that I KNOW I won't wear again or is too small or out of style. Now to go edit the closet.
It's been difficult trying to update my jeans here in Europe because they just do not make jeans for us curvy girls over here! However, I've at least identified some styles that work. So, if you are a plus size pear shape, I recommend boot cut (balancing), slim jeans (updated skinny), and ankle-length mom jeans that aren't too baggy (figure skimming). I've found that straight jeans shorten my legs and wide-leg jeans add bottom-heavy bulkiness (love them for smaller sizes though). Hope this helps someone, and I'd love to hear what works for other pears.
i’d love to know where you’ve found the vests that fit a larger bust! i LOVE that this 90’s trend has resurfaced, but i struggle to find any that aren’t cut like menswear! great vid 👏
I am ruthless when it comes to purging my closet! Good tips Ana! It took years for me to figure out my style, and what works for my body. And at that point I concluded that a capsule wardrobe works for me. I know this does not work for everyone, but the principles behind it do work. I think a good purging once or twice a year is necessary. I also think if we knew our true style and value well made clothes, we will purchase less, and enjoy clothing/ fashion more, rather than having this emotional high of obtaining a new piece and wearing it minimally only to seek out that high again and do the same thing all over again creating this monsterous consuming cycle. I think it's just as fun to purge as it is to bring in new pieces that I will value for years to come.
I agree! When you have those pieces that you truly love wearing and don’t take much effort it’s way easier to not feel tempted to be buying constantly ❤️
Hi 👋. I found ruanas and kimonos last summer, and what I like about them is that they can gussy up a solid (otherwise boring) skirt and Tshirt, or, in my case, a navy blue and otherwise indistinct Tshirt dress. I use them to add a statement piece to bland solids, like a solid black tank dress. A ruana or kimono can be a beautiful piece to add interest, whimsy, and a touch of femininity to an otherwise unremarkable background neutral. I think you have some great suggestions, and don't mind when you say something is out, 'cuz that helps!
You are so funny! I don’t have any outdated pieces, and still have a full closet! lol I keep updating my wardrobe as you grow older and donate clothing always! 😅😅😅😅
I would actually love to find flare jeans for a petite plus size. I have a 25 inch inseam. So hard to find anything. I hate hemming pants. I'm waiting for cooler weather so I can wear the sweat pants because with elastic on the bottom I don't have to hem. Bottoms especially are frustrating.
COULD YOU DO A CLOSET MAKEOVER SHOW WITH A SUBSCRIBER OR A FRIEND AND GO THROUGH HER CLOSET AND GET RID OF HER CLOTHES AND GIVE HER A BUGET AND SHE HAS TO GO BUY THE BASICS FOR HER WARDROBE THAT WOULD BE A GOOD VLOG TO WATCH.
I really need to go through my closet again. I don’t have any of the things you said were not great. But I do have way too much in my closet. I have probably six or seven Buc-ee’s t shirts I bought in the last few years. I wear them around the house. I don’t like to wear them out in public. I have most solid colors. I’m not sure if I have any prints in my closet. I never wear them if I do. It got chilly here today. And I was glad to still have a sweatshirt in my closet. In fact, I have a few. And I think they will stay. But I know I have too many shirts. My husband tells me all the time. I could wear a different shirt everyday for a year and not wear the same one twice. I think that’s an exaggeration. But I know I have too much.
I have an old pair of white wide leg Jones jeans that have become more fashionable this year as they are becoming distressed with a few holes. They may not last throughout the summer.
This is such a cathartic thing to do! I’m like you - I had things in my closet that I loved when I bought them, and never wore them. It was hard to move them to a “give to someone else to love” pile, but the visual clutter in my closet made me sad! Thank you for doing such a thoughtful video. ❤
I like to pair my ripped slim fit jeans with a chunky loafer and an embroidered vest (or something granny core) I like the contrast. I don’t have anything overly ripped.. just ripped out at the knee mainly
I love those tops with the decorated necklines, but one thing I've always noticed is that they restrict what jewelry can be paired with them. You're kind of stuck with a simple shorter chain, in the metal that matches the color of the decoration.
The biggest reason for me is the months that only sweaters and warmer clothes are available to purchase…and for a few days they are fine in Miami…I forget how it will be 102 like it was yesterday… and almost everything is too hot… I have been shopping online almost every day allowing only cotton or other natural fibers in my cart… Appreciate your mentioning fashion and Florida… Have a wonderful Mother’s Day
I’ve got a pair of jeggings that are overly ripped/shredded and have fake whiskers. That trifecta definitely needs to go!!! 😂 thank you for the reminder!!
AG1 is really good. Gives more energy and workout is more effective! I take it since I followed your recommendation some months ago. Thanks for the good hint!
I've owned probably two graphic tees in my entire lifetime. Never really liked them. Just purchased a light-denim A-line maxi dress that I am absolutely in love with! Looking forward to wearing it.
I have run out of hangers so I think it’s time for a closet edit. My weight has also dramatically changed over time due to menopause. I think I really need to donate smaller items as I live in a compact condo and don’t have a lot of storage. A lot of the styles especially in pants aren’t so current as well. I tried and have been loving the wider leg pants.
Hi Anna great tips. But I would make exception for certain graphic tees. I never was a fan of them, but I had Anne bing sweatshirt with brigit bardot picture, I loved it so much, so I found white t shirt the same print. I love it it dress down certain outfits, gives some edginess, without looking outdated🤔🤪 I actually going to wear with my Prada sheer skirt, instead of Prada tank top, which is little bit too literal. Well I do like the top, and I might still get it, but the graphic t shirt, I think more interesting. Ah I always loved dresses, I actually try to learn to wear more two pieces, cause the dress it’s just too memorable. Even I have a lot of them, still there is not so much you can do, to make it different. That’s why I got Prada skirt. I also want to get Dior black skirt from last fall winter collection. It’s midi it’s more a line. Can be styled so many ways, especially for SF, all year long… the rest I agree. P.s if you really like yellow, you can find the tone, that would look gorgeous on you. Those cooler yellows, on me look horrible, but when I put that sunflower more warm yellows, omg, one of the best colors on me. I am blond too, light to medium warm tone. Have a blessed day🙏❤️
I agree with overly ripped jeans, I have 1 pair with 2 teeny tiny distressed rips on them, I feel so cool in them though, LOL! Love that lipstick on you, what is the shade?🤩
I just put away a bunch of cold shoulder shirts. Lots are hardly worn. My graphic shirts i wear to supermarket or walking dogs but not for a night out.
Great Anna, I’m feeling pretty smug as I don’t really own any of the items you said to ditch 😇😂. I do have one cold shoulder top but I only wear that in the garden when it’s hot (not often here in the UK, sadly). Have gradually been replacing my skinny jeans, but have kept some to tuck into long boots. Always love your videos and style tips ❤️ x
What is your favorite t-shirt brand? I like the way the shoulders and arms look in the one you just modeled. Excellent tip on prints. Thank you bunches for this post.
Yes on the tank tops! I have bought a ton and spent a lot of money on them. Never worn them bc they are so uncomfortable. I’m ditching them. Brand new with tags. Bye bye.
Mmm yes, the push I need to get some of that old stuff out! Thanks Anna. Could you do a video on summer outfits for events? I have an outdoor concert soon and live in South Texas, super hot by the end of May. Would love to see some options for someone in their mid-40's who still wants to be stylish, I have no idea what I'm going to wear!
Yes, I need suggestions also, I'm thinking about a concert too but so warm out in July on concert date.. I picture kick flare pants with cute trendy sneakers but im.blankung on a top!
I started walking on a treadmill 3 months ago and it has already changed my life. Keep up the good work!!❤❤❤
That’s amazing, Marie!! Good for you!! 🙌❤️❤️
Congratulations! Your comment really inspired me to get back into walking and using my treadmill! Thank you! 💕
Very inspiring and a great reason to purchase a new wardrobe ❤
Congratulations Marie!! ❤💪🏼
We need a video of current styles with those of us who like to cover our upper arms even in the summer 😊
I love elbow sleeves in cotton or a blend! ❤️
Style with Serena just made a video about that😊
Honestly I have never liked to show my arms.
@@annlatham same here
I think the suiting vests look great on Anna, but I prefer sleeves in the summer, because I’m usually cold.
Gen x kid here, my real graphic tees with anime, art, and real concerts I went to live forever under my blazers. My students watch for them!
They can be hip, edgy, etc
I will never ever get rid of the concert T-shirts of concerts that I went to. Those actually have some meaning in my life and experience that I had You’ll be ripping my Pearl Jam T-shirt out of my cold, dead hands, and especially my Alice In Chains shirt. I was there that means more than anything someone on TH-cam could ever say
Me too!!! 🙋
I actually take pictures in front of my full length mirror, I find the same thing looking back on pictures.
Great idea!
I love your honesty
When you warn those who might be triggered not to go any further on the out dated outfits
I started putting my Christmas party sweaters and nye dresses in with my Christmas decor in the attic 😅
For the cold shoulder tops, if you still love the top you can have the sleeves removed (at a tailor or maybe you have a friend/family member who can sew) and wear it as a sleeveless top. I changed a few of mine and they turned out great!
And the spaghetti tanks are good to wear under a blouse for extra coverage.
That’s a great idea! ❤️❤️
Love this!!
I'm 52. I vibe with everything mentioned, except for the graphic tshirts. I have concerts shirts that are vintage and aren't going anywhere.
My kids are waiting to inherit some concert tees lol
concert tees are evergreen
i’m pretty sure she’s talking about the “live laugh love” shirts
Concert T shirts have their own special category. It's called "forever." Lol.
I love my Todd Rundgren tour tees!
I hear you on this! And once you have that feel good, look good item it’s really hard to go back to anything else! ❤️
That sounds very uniquely stylish & comfortable!
Can we have a sustainable fashion video?! I wanna see a "nothing new challenge where all outfits are with pieces at least 3 years old
Yes, it's frustrating to see more of this "trash or donate" when the amount of textile waste generated by fast fashion industries is already such a problem.
Thank you!❤
I'm a BIG fan of pointy-toed shoes, too! 😍
I don't why in this particular video, but it REALLY struck me just HOW much work you've put into it! ALL the changes of clothes PLUS the modeling of them, then editing the 5-7 second clip that works from out of probably 5 minutes in each outfit.
Your hard work really shows in the professional, entertaining, informative, and just plain FUN videos!🤩
I appreciate all of your hard work! I'm so happy I stumbled across you!
I watch to learn what’s out of style! Please don’t hold back ❤
Love this! I also love the 3 words for creating your style it’s very helpful ❤️❤️
I'd like to add colorful...for myself!
I agree with all your closet edits and would like to throw these ideas out there for consideration:
Love all of this! Thank you for sharing! ❤️❤️❤️
I swear if I wasn't too proud, I'd just tuck a napkin in my neckline like you see old men do in old movies haha.
Bibs! Or a large napkin tucked in.
Yeah, big boobs collect stuff.
I love all my old printed button downs. I have some 20 years old +! I think because the style is so classic and 100% cotton, they work.
Thank you for the outdoor hour class. Enjoyed the sounds of nature. Wonderful class.
lol I wore an old school/vintage, boat neck j crew striped shirt with embellished neckline to dinner the other night and 2 people stopped by my table to compliment it and ask where it was from 😂😂 it always amuses me how things get labeled “dated”.
Loved this video! Thanks 😊Fabrics are also a good way to help decide polyester has to go!
I hear you!! I have to edit mine every few months! 😄
Perfect time of year for this advice and helpful tips. I have to be so strong shopping not to be tempted buying prints. You are so right. They are the first to loose their charm! Solids and stripes are much more timeless and easily matched. Thanks for your videos...love them!
Thank you, Patricia! ❤️❤️ I feel you with prints! It took me years to figure out I didn’t need a closet full of them 🤦♀️ 😄
I would like to just announce that 6 mins into this video I have a great big box of stuff I'm just not into right now, but have felt guilty throwing away. Thank you for giving me permission to make a box to put away instead of having to give everything away. Brilliant! TYSM! Been stuck with an overflowing double set of closets for a couple years.
Kudos for you suggesting to just sit with our stuff. So many want to rush out and re purchase!
lol I’m glad you get it! ❤️❤️😄😄
9:50 the spaghetti strap tank top thing I disagree with. I don’t wear it as a top layer but as an undershirt or to add a modesty panel to low cut shirts.
Same
The title literally said "unless you wear it under something" so I think you are in the clear :)
Your black outfit with the red lipstick looks GREAT! 🤩
Yay! Love a good closet purge! Feels so much better when you have to get dressed ❤️
Love this! Love that you already do a closet edit every season ❤️❤️
Fabulous video! As you were talking I was picturing things in my closet that I KNOW I won't wear again or is too small or out of style. Now to go edit the closet.
I’m lucky to have an extra closet so I can move things back and forth. I just bought my first linen vest thanks to your recommendations.
Thank you so much for this list!! We sometimes get blind to what's in our closet
❤️❤️❤️
Happy Mothers Day to you, Anna❤️❤️❤️
I absolutely agree with EVERYTHING you said! Truth!
lol. I have a closet half that size and I hardly have anything hanging in it. Most of what I have I will wear forever.
i’d love to know where you’ve found the vests that fit a larger bust! i LOVE that this 90’s trend has resurfaced, but i struggle to find any that aren’t cut like menswear!
Perfect timing! Was getting ready to record a decluttering video and just applied the “Anna Reid” process. Will post next week!
This reminds me of an old show "What Not to Wear" that's exactly what they did.
Excellent coaching video! Great tips & encouragement throughout. Thank you Anna!
I’m happy to see all these trends go with the exception of kimonos. Damn, I loved mine! It was a good run! 😂
This is such a cathartic thing to do! I’m like you - I had things in my closet that I loved when I bought them, and never wore them. It was hard to move them to a “give to someone else to love” pile, but the visual clutter in my closet made me sad!
Thank you for doing such a thoughtful video. ❤
I hear you!! I’ve been so guilty of this! Once that item has moved on tho, you won’t look back! ❤️❤️
Capri pants aka pedal pushers. I LOVE them when they are the right length.
No rips, tears or jeggings. I do have a pair of skinny jeans. I love wide bottoms and straight leg the most.
The biggest reason for me is the months that only sweaters and warmer clothes are available to purchase…and for a few days they are fine in Miami…I forget how it will be 102 like it was yesterday… and almost everything is too hot…
I have been shopping online almost every day allowing only cotton or other natural fibers in my cart…
Appreciate your mentioning fashion and Florida…
Have a wonderful Mother’s Day
I feel you! I take big advantage of the “end of season” sales in July in colder climates! It’s till hot for a good part of fall for us ❤️❤️
So true-a Miami Heat is brutal! Every year I am surprised by the blanket effect when it hits!
I thought I couldn’t pare down my closet any more…but your video today showed me I have a way to go! Thanks!
The spaghetti strap tank is giving America's Next Top Model Season 1.😂
Oh my gosh, yes!! Possibly even through to seasons 5 and 6! 😂
Thanks, some of these were really helpful, will try them out🙏
I do love your advice as you’re always kind and practical as well. Thank you for being informative and sweet ❤
Loved this video. I like hearing about what's not in fashion.
so glad I found you! epic advice on what to donate or trash!! now I need solid neutral basics ❤❤❤
How do you space out taking your vitamins? Morning routine and night routine and which ones do you combine?
I drink AG1 in the morning. The only other thing I take is curcumin and I take it in the evening ❤️
Thank you, Mama 🤣😂 I need to hear this on repeat. I REALLY like to save things.🙄
You are not alone!! Just remember here is always the “maybe later” box that you can come back to if you’re not ready to toss! ❤️
I just put away a bunch of cold shoulder shirts. Lots are hardly worn. My graphic shirts i wear to supermarket or walking dogs but not for a night out.
Very helpful video thank you
Great Anna, I’m feeling pretty smug as I don’t really own any of the items you said to ditch 😇😂.
Great video with lots of good suggestions. You should probably make a video like this once every 6 months; it’s motivating me to do a closet cleanse.
Yes on the tank tops! I have bought a ton and spent a lot of money on them. Never worn them bc they are so uncomfortable. I’m ditching them. Brand new with tags. Bye bye.
Thank goodness I don’t have any of those outdated clothing. I got rid of them too
Anna- what brand and fabric white tee is your favorite? Thank you for your video!
Loved the video. Lots of good, practical advice. 💖💖
My video is up using your method Anna! Thanks for the inspiration! 🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️
Thank you for all your great information! Just love your videos!!
