I really enjoyed your video. I am American and I was born and raised here. I like hearing what people who visit/move from other countries think of American culture. I Definitely think you should make a part 2 of your video.
I live in Europe and always thought that in general we had the same kind of culture. Boy was I wrong. When i had an American boyfriend i discovered that there are big differences.
Wonderful video! Regarding the taxes, the federal government wanted the states to have a certain amount of autonomy when this country was founded. The states could decide their own taxing rates, however it suited them for the good of the state. Not all states as you've seen have their own state sales tax, that's something that's voted on by the residents of the state. Only about 5 states have no tax, which makes them desirable to move to. But the lack of state sales taxes means that property taxes will generally be high. It's as though the state makes up the taxes that it's not collecting from sales tax, and charges higher property tax. Regarding Florida as a possible home I would caution against it. I lived in the Tampa Bay area on the Gulf coast on the west side of the state, and it's a nice area with access to the ocean. There is lots of stuff in the nightlife to do, and if you are a sports fan, there are several professional teams there. The fact that it's a beautiful area is just a bonus! The health care there is sub-par but there are some really great doctors if you get lucky enough to find them. As to the marijuana issue, each state puts it to the residents whether or not to decriminalize it. All states allow medical marijuana, but they have to be certified to need it with state. It's interesting that you picked up on the drinking age. I'm in my 60s, and growing up in Montana, you could get your driving license at 14 with parent's approval, tobacco sales at 16, and alcohol sales at 18. Of course that all changed for the tobacco & alcohol in the 80s. If you could make a second video on this topic, I would love to see it & comment on it for clarification.
Good news about the ceiling lights issue...new construction apartments and houses tend to have lights in the ceiling...they seem to have realized that in the last few years 🤷♀️
In my country you also have to be 18 to drink alcohol. In the US you have to be 21 because that is the age your brain her fully grown. Before that time alcohol is doing a lot more damage to the brain. So i think it is a good thing and should be the same in other countries.
Ignore and disregard politically correct people. Indian is fine. Let the perpetually offended people fall in the floor and throw a fit like a two year old. Grab some popcorn 🍿 and enjoy their childish meltdown.
Property tax in the USA are designed so it's hard to hold on to Property. They want Property sold. Alcohol at 21was lower to 18 in the 70's and raised up in the 90's, because of drunk driving. Every State has different laws, because every State was its own country up until the signing of the Constitution. After the signing of the Constitution, State surrender part of their sovereign right as new country to the USA. New States after the signing of the Constitution came in as territories. Texas was a country before it became a State. Texas even had its own Embassy in England and France. So the USA is a bundle of semi-sovereign countries or States. Law in the States are different. In Pennsylvania, the law is based on England Common Law. In Louisiana, the law is based on Napoleonic Code. The Law in Ohio is based on U.S. Code.
Police can and do most definitely stop you for no reason in many if not all states. They call it a license check but it’s mostly a fishing expedition.

yay! 🤩
3 YEARS maternity leave😳
I wish!
Every apartment I lived in had ceilings lights. I wonder if this is a regional thing
It might be because of older building, they probably didn’t require it
3 years would be awesome. In Canada maternity leave (covered by the government) is 1 year to 18 months.
still much better than here in the US. :)
