It was so nice to see your pictures of Salford. My mother, grandfather, ggrandmother and families grew up there. Thankyou Ian.

Autumn & Winter are thought to be the seasonal settings for ghost stories but deserted streets in the middle of summer also have an eerie emptiness about them.

Great pics - lived in Weaste until age 10 - attended Seedley County junior school. My playground was Mode Wheel fields. I wish I had some pics of there before it became an industrial estate in the 90s!!

I went to Tootal Drive in the late fifties and early sixties. I lived at the school house next door because my dad was the school caretaker. My dad played for Salford Red Devils between 1937 and 1953 and later coached them. I was the team mascot when I was about 6 or 7 years old. Some of my mates lived on Barff Rd. Moved to California in 1964. Still have fond memories as a child in Salford.

Great work - you have a keen photographer's eye for the all the different faces of Salford. Has anyone out there got any pics of the Higher West Street, Cemetery Road and Mode Wheel areas of Weaste?

It was a disgrace pulling these down...should've just pulled the yards down and made little gardens instead...the crap that's up now...well...go and have a look...

Hello Ian, do you have any photos of Derg Street, Salford? My family lived there for many years. I visited in 2018 but couldn't find it. Possibly demolished along with many more homes.

Most of the streets on here were my paper round in 1968.

The council is guilty of murdering Salford but will the bastards ever see justice?

I wholeheartedly agree. All the great architecture, and character even her history Just wiped out, and gone forever.

Why,why did they pull these great terraces down, and then build slums. They have totally eradicated Salfords heritage, and culture. Its so very tragic.💥
