I power walk with my hubby from Old Trafford into Salford. The Ordsall Estate did have a reputation! I had relatives live on it in the 70's. It's changed with all the new builds and Media City etc across the road or as I still call it the Docks! Ordsall Hall is lovely. I used to go to Salford College and one of my friends went to the Ordsall High School. Was down there yesterday shopping on Regent Road. On the Docks at the weekend nice to see a different street view!
@@LADmob A bad area ? Even the Police dogs only go out in pairs through Ordsall. Joking aside, Google "Ordsall Murders". And the results are just the high profile and reported crimes. Near Oldfield Road 12:45 you came to the spot where an Indian student was randomly shot and killed a few years back. Walking through parts of Salford (Ordsall is in Salford, not Manchester) with expensive recording equipement is not recommended my friend.
" even police dogs goes out in pairs " - hahahahhahahahhahahahahhahahahahhahahahahha , that's a good term on comparison 🤣 I manage walking in East London after midnight , what's Salford ?:))
Maybe "locals" are getting confused seen a big guy, Asian/turkysh/Greek looking , speaking with Russian accent , walking relaxed in that bad area with cameras and stuffs like 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 They don't know what's happening 🤣
@@LADmob Salford is a city in its own right to the west of Manchester. Most Salfordians get upset if you suggest Salford is a part of Manchester. It doesn't stop most Salfordians supporting Man United though :-) Greater Manchester is made up of ten boroughs and cities with Salford and Manchester being the two cities in Greater Manchester. In the vid you crossed from Salford in to Manchester around the 21:20 mark. Anybody walking around the dodgy parts of Salford filming is likely to be viewed with suspicion - possibly being mistaken as a bizzy doing discreet surveillance.
Ordsall isnt the gangland it was back in the early 2000's. Ever since the council went pink, most of the big names left and for those that didnt, most of em died or ended up in jail. This used to be my stomping ground with the likes of tony and lee joy, otto malone n matty lever to name a few. Although lee joy ultimately ended up being locked up, we were not the typical gang, rather just mates that would play, we often used to get free entry into ordsall sports hall because we earned the staffs trust. And we would train over at the ordsall lads club. All that said, given the knife crime increase in recent years, im glad i moved me, my wife n kids to Devon back in 2013. Best thing i ever did.
Over the last few years the skyline of Manchester has changed dramatically. Beetham Tower used to be the highest building in MCR and stood out a mile. There are now quite a few residential towers being constructed in MCR. There's a scattering of them near the Chester Road roundabout that can be seen in the vid above. If living high up in a small, compact overpriced flat is your thing then come to Manchester !!
From my house in old Trafford the Manchester skyline has changed so much in 10 years! Great to see the buildings lit at night! But wow those people looking out of the City are paying a fortune! I'm paying peanuts to look at them! From my bedroom windows in Old Trafford. If they're not building they're converting offices into flats! Old Trafford was Offices now they're being converted to flats!
Some of the buildings are pretty iconic, one of them was the ordsall hall. Its rated as one of the most haunted building in the uk. It actually dates back to the early 1500s. In terms of all the still building areas, thats been going on now since 2003. Salford are trying to copy Londons Themes millionaires areas. Some of these apartments, especially the ones headed in the opposite directection (toward old trafford) will set you back a cool million pound for a 100yr lease. (often popular with some of the Man Utd players).
Thanks for posting. I grew up around there in the early '60's, I wouldn't know it now.

I love Manchester, but what a set of ugly, anonymous buildings, and by the looks of things, are still being built.
