For the last two dozen+ podcasts McConaughey has been on, he has barely repeated himself. A man of wisdom, insight and not taking life too seriously.

Seen quite a few of these as McConaughey makes the rounds. This one is by far the best. More of a conversation than an "interview." Less talking points, more authentic open ended questions coming from both sides. Just keep living my dudes.

9:54 We really have to come back at this moment in our world. It's what's necessary...... Because people need the example without watching somebody detach from society their entire life... That it can be brought into society...
Part of why I f****** love Matthew so much for doing this..... I got really excited when I saw that he was turning spiritual like he was and talking to some of these guys... It's 100% what our world needs. I was going to say America but it's the world. As everything we're doing in America is rippling around the world... Unfortunately because we are not putting our best foot forward so often right now.
So he is absolutely the example we need. Because with him you have no hiding away, you have the flaws which are absolutely necessary. You have his abundance and fame. Showing you that you can be a spiritual person and not have to denounce all material possession. That was a trick guys. It was a good one too apparently... Nor do you have to detach from society to reprogram yourself.. I understand why people do though
But yeah. Thank you Matthew. All right, all right all right.😅

Impressive to hear Matthew talking about the "Interstellar" Scene. I cry EVERY time when I see it. When you are a father (a parent) - that there is nothing more sacred that time with your children. To miss their whole life is a tragedy. Cooper (the guy Matthew plays in the film) missed the youth of his children for a greater good. He had to go to give them a future at all. But the price was to loose the time with them. Powerful scene - highly emotional. Thanks for that! Take care, cheers from Germany

I've been watching as many as I can of McConaugheys podcast features, and man Aubrey I have to say this is the first time I've seen a host really share their OWN experiences, it was as though you were talking to a good friend, and I could see him really listening and for once its so refreshing to see a conversation between two people who hold no "reverence" or "expectations" of one another - this felt like two human beings having a really interesting and awesome discussion on life! Who the heck saw Matthew McConaughey becoming a wise elder? He just came out of left field this year, first I saw his face on the thumbnail image for Impact Theory and thought "Hmm, it's Matthew McConaughey.. that's cool." Then Garyvee, then Joe Rogan, Lewis Howes, and I was like "Damn, he's all over the place look at him". And now on here with Aubrey! Super excited. And I have to say he's just as damn interesting and helpful in this podcast as any. Aubrey too, as I've said, has recently hit a new level with his interviewing and discussion abilities, so good at giving examples, providing analogies, describing things and expressing and linking ideas together.
41:31 Quick sidenote, I loved Interstellar and particularly that one scene. Very rarely have I ever cried watching a movie, but got damn that got me good and I basically couldn't hold back the tears at that part.

7:12 Really something else when you haven't even taken a substance or anything, and you can't shut what's going on off. And it is not normal for your everyday experience. It adds a whole other layer of intensity. So I can imagine what you're saying about the darkness retreat..... Though I've never done that in particular. I probably will at some point though. But I have heavy experiences without even doing that heavy of a practice. So I kind of get worried that like 6 hours in I'm going to start tripping and then I can't shut it off until I'm done. And I know that when that happens, because of some experiences I've had, it adds a whole other layer of intensity to it.... That might be because I'm used to taking a substance for that to happen, from a young age. So that's just what I'm more comfortable and used to.... But for me when I had a Kundalini experience, and I didn't really know what was going on, it had a major another layer of intensity. Because anytime I've gone through an ego death on a substance. I really still knew that I was okay.
But for this, I thought I was having a stroke or something. Cuz I didn't have a clue what was going on as I did not have any practice to have that happen.... Now 3 years later, and it's still going on. And I go to the doctor to make sure that it's not something medical that's wrong... Nope. Just a mystery, at least to the medical community. Not much of a mystery to me... And somehow I actually knew what was going on before I knew anything about Kundalini.... Just intuitionally kind of knew.

Wonderful down to earth interview. 🌼
Only thing that disturbs is the swearing Aubrey. Is it necessary?? There are many adjectives to Express your emotions. Please! Thank goodness you didn't swear all the time otherwise I would of had to switch off. Peace

What you both talked about at the end (what is lighting a fire for Matthew), keeping Austin the way it is through its growth... keeping an authenticity, opening and inviting each other to be seen in each community of the city, bi-partisan, non-denominational values of ‘we all live here’... let us work together to support each one of our unique selves. Beautiful work gentleman. I am inspired by you both. Thank you.
This underlying intension and way of approaching Austin’s growth reminds me of the Maternal Gift Economy. Check it out: www.maternalgifteconomymovement.org. The first 20 minutes or so describe the concept, of which I believe is a part of what you’re referring to in Austin’s growth and concept of community.
