    At 1:47 you mentioned “one of your favorites “ but didn’t mention what it was. You’re motivating me to plant more now! I’m in 9B.

    So mad I started tons of broccoli and kale from seeds in late Aug-mid Sept, dozens of each. They were getting big so I potted them up, and just before they would have been big enough to plant out the rats came through and DECIMATED almost every single one 😭😭😡😡 and now it’s too late to restart them!! 😭😭😭 just adopted a feral cat to protect my garden so hopefully that’ll be the last time they treat my garden as their personal Whole Foods 😂

      Also garden netting. It might help if them don't chew threw that. Or chicken wire.

      @@divinelotus19 they’re awfully smart little jerks, not one has fallen for the traps we’ve tried 4 different kinds of traps, no go. And they won’t touch the rat x (poison that only affects rats not anything that might eat the rat). But at this point I’ll try just about anything. Thanks!

      Garden kitties are the best! I have two here. Such a bummer about the losses though :/

      It depends on where you are, but it definitely can be!

    Geez.. I'm getting so confused as to what I can and can't plant right now! Videos like this tell me I can in zone 10A. Apps like Seedtime and the seed packets are all telling me it's too early! I'm torn :(

      Depending where you live. I live in the South 8a. Many of my things need to be translated from my grow room to outside. All my cool weather crops are outside and we already have 33 degress at night.
      The 1 thing I learned is we ALL have micro climates. Which mean my backyard is different than my own neighbors. So I just transplant and direct sow to learn which grow.
      1) keep a journal and pictures or videos
      2) Look for you Extensions office. Gold information for you own area.

      Just plant! The best way to know your garden and learn.

      You can plant anything at any time. It's just a matter of how well it will do. If you don't get frost, then that's a big thing you don't need to worry about. Great tips from the other two people here as well.

    The raised beds at my new place are full of grubs, should i treat before planting, some say they don't bother vegetables

    • @ehahn2604
      @ehahn2604 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Grubs eat roots of young plants and can kill the plants.

    • @SanDiegoSeedCompany
      @SanDiegoSeedCompany  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      E Hahn is correct. I'd sift the soil and pick them out manually
