    👍 for the shot of the cat zooming by. 😂
    Thanks for explaining the sunlight thing. I never really thought of it that way, but it makes so much sense.

    If I can help anyone, my collard greens kept bolting and I would just cut the flower part off over and over again and the leaves would still grow but it was slowly still trying to bolt. I kept picking off leaves, cooking them and they tasted amazing all the way til the end.

    Hi Brijette, you mentioned drying some herbs to use even though they've gone to flower/seed. I just pulled some Basil out this morning and thought about heading to the compost bin with it but set it aside until I did some research on drying it and here you are. So what do you recommend? Dry it and try it? Love the hat by the way!

      Definitely give drying a try! Even if it's not "fresh" it's still so fun to have your homegrown herbs all year long. If it's gone to seed, the flavor might be a little different so just give it a try first

    What are the beautiful red flowers in your herb box?

    • @SanDiegoSeedCompany
      @SanDiegoSeedCompany  ปีที่แล้ว

      The big, dark red flowers are amaranth. The smaller, circular flowers are gomphrena

    Cool video! How do you keep celery from spreading everywhere? It’s like a weed here in L.A. What is the best permanent garden marker for labeling?

    • @SanDiegoSeedCompany
      @SanDiegoSeedCompany  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We use a grease marker but it still fades before the season is up. Pencil works great on wood! And yes celery will spread like nuts. Don’t let it do to seed if that is an issue for you.

    What's the beautiful 😍 vine w yellow flowers 🌻 on the round trellis? Do you sell those seeds?? When's the best time to plant that one?

      Black eyed Susan vine (thunbergia alata). In coastal California I've seen them everblooming - also comes in a beautiful orange color.

      She’s correct! It’s black eyed Susan. We do not sell those seeds. Yet!

    Do you grow Dahlias? I am in Israel, similar weather to you. I was thinking to sew my Dahlias now, since I had no luck growing them in the summer

      No, potatoes are the first time we've sold tubers. Some people do have success with them here, though!

    First year gardener here👩🏽‍🌾 and love your channel! This might be a silly question, but I live in Menifee, California. I think I’m in zone 9 too, but am I in A,
    or B ? Is there a C? Remember this is my first year and I’m totally clueless. Go ahead and laugh 😆. Thanks!

    • @SanDiegoSeedCompany
      @SanDiegoSeedCompany  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Isn't a C, but you can check your zone here planthardiness.ars.usda.gov/

      What zone are you in? You will want to see when your hard frost dates are.

    To make a long story short, winter crops go to seed when days lengthen, and summer crops go to seed when days shorten.
