This is an amazing video, you explained and broke down everything into place (how to grow, fertilize, harvest, vitamins it contained and what’s good to your health for). Thank you and looking forward to your next video.
Nice list. I'd add on collard greens, kale, mustard greens, & turnip greens. I use the method that he used to harvest them. Pick some leaves off but leave the plant with some leaves intact. You can easily double your output.
I wish I like those plants that you mentioned, but I can't figure out how to make them taste good to me. It'd be so much easier for me to be healthy if I liked most edible vegetation.
I appreciate that you mention the vitamins each of these vegetables contain. Also enjoy the relaxed, even pace. Your calmness is contagious. I am doing more gardening this year in light of the unstable political environment and threat to food security. Thanks!
I grew pesto perpetuo throughout the entire year so far here in Texas, survived the intense summer and still growing strong! smells and tastes amazing!!!
Fall gardens are the best!! Less weeds and pest, and heat!! I was told and have had luck growing carrots in poor soil. I'll try a container with rich soil this year to see if there's any difference. Thanks for that thought.
I'm so happy to find a California based gardening help channel! I've been wanting to start gardening for quite some time and your videos are helpful and inspiring! Thank you for all your work!
I use all the different leaves from the herbs and veggies to make spice. I dehydrate them and then grind them up into powder and all them together. I them put it into air tight jars and give as gifts. I love your video and the explanation . Love all the veggies and the leaves are just a extra benefit.
I am a newbie.....and am so very grateful for your easily explained methods. I live near Atlanta, ga. I have lettuce and kale plants now.....in deep containers. I have a sunny south winter window where my basil and chives are doing beautifully....in pots. Am doing some preps for next years.....outdoor veggie crop.... Thks for your encouragement. Xx. Ahna USA
WOW! I loved your video! I grew up in Alabama as a child and we had a garden as long as I could remember. Now I live in Louisiana and can’t garden because of snakes! I would love to have a garden but I don’t want to get bitten by a snake. Your video reminds me of my childhood, which brings back lots of good memories!!
Hi. I was told that Peppermint plants deter rats and snakes; very invasive but good ground cover. I had no snake problems and no rats.I also had 2 cats who are natural enemies to snakes. So are owls. But my owls did not stay. Until the neighbor dogs came and rolled around in it destroying all. This year I got gifts from the neighbors too..a lot of rats. And snakes. I chased away with water hose spraying them from a good distance. Now it is getting colder here in the desert, and snakes will go into hibernation. Thank the creator. I still have a lot of rats..caught..52 with life trap ..in my house. They eat everything except for metal, glass, ceramic and stone. Talk to local folks in Louisiana how to deal with snakes. Share the knowledge. We all need to learn from one another. AND never give up growing your food!
This was a very detailed informed video. I'm encouraged to go ahead and put my lettuces and herbs and radishes in. Thank you for this rich information. God bless your harvests.
I live in the foothills of central California and our soil is very hard with granite rocks everywhere. I’m going to start a garden in raised beds and pray for the best. You are a wealth of information, so thank you. New subscriber here.

Love the GreenStalk planters. I have beets planted and use every part of the plant. Carrots, lots of herbs, fingerlings. Grew beautiful cucumbers on the rail. I only have a balcony limiting what I can grow.
I have oxalate poisoning from drinking superfood smoothies, could barely walk, I am recovering eating the carnivore Ketovore way. Sally K Norton’s book Toxic Superfoods is very helpful. Now I know why I have blood spots and white spots on my forearms, oxalate poisoning, I thought it was just old lady stuff at 65. 😂 Since the 1930’s they have known children should never eat spinach, it chelates and binds calcium and damages the brain. In the 1950’s came the Popeye generation. Enjoy your own research. Love hugs and blessings.
I really enjoyed your video. Thank you so much for taking the time to be so thorough and including the vitamin benefits and ways to cook some of the vegetables.
Well done! Informative with video clips of each plant of what we should look for and how to harvest. The Fall is an awesome time to grow and prosper. Great information , especially in knowledge of what season to grow well to the best of the vegetables needs. I appreciate your seasoned knowledge of "how to grow" and what nutrients the garden produce possess ' Your herb knowledge is extensive . Thank you for teaching us how...better to grow.
Nice list. I'd add on collard greens, kale, mustard greens, & turnip greens. I use the method that he used to harvest them. Pick some leaves off but leave the plant with some leaves intact. You can easily double your output. They do great in the fall & winter.
I live in California as well and I have started snap peas, shelling peas, carrots, and beets. They are doing well so far. We had an unexpected hail storm, Wow! The carrot seeds have finally started germinating and I see little green leaves popping out of the soil. I will definitely take your advice because I’m a first-year gardener, hoping to do well this Fall, to get my own veggies growing. I'm am growing Brussel sprouts and had no idea the Brussel sprouts grow under the bush. Thanks so much for sharing. My broccoli heads are beautiful im just not sure how large the heads should be before I harvest them.
I always seem to have a hard time with carrots. I think I may try the pelleted seeds. I also have a hard time with radishes, they do not bulb for me. I know nitrogen will make big leaves, but even without nitrogen I have a hard time. I will just keep trying until I figure it out 😀
My carrot adventure this year turned to disaster. Then I read a suggestion to mix carrot and radish seeds together and sprinkle them over the soil. The radishes will come up fast and be ready to harvest long before the carrots, and as you pull each radish, it makes more space for the carrots instead of trying to thin carrots. I am using this method right now! Good luck to you. 😊
Great video as always will love to tey some of the different varieties of carrots and radishes but here we can't find them here your garden is beautiful i just start back working on my garden you inspire me keep up the good work
Our “soil” in Southern California is so much HARD clay, and you practically need a jackhammer to dig into it, plus it has very few nutrients, so I’m going to plant lots of Daikon radishes because they really break up the soil. After I pull them up, I’ll fill the remaining holes with manure and compost, and leave them to break down over the coldest months until I’m ready to plant something else. Makes breaking into the soil much easier, plus I like daikons to eat, and will have plenty to give away.
I would add that Holy Basil is a very healing herb. The teas for the digestive system and the tea can be applied directly to the body to heal and help rebuild tissue

Thanks for watching!
Thank you so much for sharing- terrific video- so informative- and beautiful harvest!
Glad you enjoyed it!
I thoroughly enjoyed this video and am inspired to go out and plant even as winter is near. Thank you!
Thanks for your tips 😊 I will be growing some of them soon as Om Shanti 🕉

Good idea to plant daikon radishes!
I would add that Holy Basil is a very healing herb. The teas for the digestive system and the tea can be applied directly to the body to heal and help rebuild tissue
