Wow, I haven't played since TU2 and hearing you talk about all these new skills and armor augments, damn near sounds like you're playing a different game! Glad to see you sharing more builds Ruri! This is always my favorite content that you make, because you do such a great job explaining all the gear and decos and your reasoning for choosing them. Thanks!
Been using GL a lot more often lately thanks to this update, especially thanks to Shock Absorber in multiplayer. Also been using the build template Peppo made & slapped on my Chaotic Gore GL with all the necessary skills. Soooo much fun, even having just one point of Heaven-sent is a freaking godsend.
TU5 is the finest update for the GL user like me. I'm playing Redirection and Quick Breath since the beginning of the Sunbreak. Having Heaven-sent is like a dream come true.. Recover sharpness, reloading all the shell while dodging with Redirection and healing status condition (sounds to much right?) is a real luxury. Happy hunting for both of you :p
I was planning to do some GL for TU5, but the grind for AR levels really pushes you into playing for efficiency. Tearing apart Silver Rathalos' wings in an arena quest using a water pierce bow over and over again can get me 900 research points in 5 minutes, which is half the time I can do it with a wide GL. Right now I'm at AR 295, and would be around AR 260 if I played GL, which makes me a bit sad for the weapon.
You can’t compare any weapon to bowguns. When it comes to efficiency bowguns and bow are Ferraris and Lamborghinis. The rest of the weapons are comparatively tricycles.
A very interesting build for Gunlance. As it is my main weapon, I am going to give this a shot. Though with mine, it's more of a support/comfort GL. Gunlance for Life!
Thank you for showing your build! As per Caoslayer's video on Risen Shagaru 's armor, I opted for two levels of Heaven Sent in order to get two levels of Frenzied Bloodlust, since I love extra wirebugs snd constantly refill my sharpness from my Redirection powered SSSs lmao. Regardless, both HS and FB are incredible for GL no matter how you build for it and I'm glad to see it's taken up the meta by storm. Now to wait for June where they'll probably make them Qurio skills 😅
Hey Rurikhan just wanted to say thank you for all the content you're putting out. You've made gunlance look like a blast. Well I switched my main to gunlance and I understand now why you love it
8:03 Correction, damage doesn't matter, if the attack doesn't knock you down heaven sent remains active Given the infinite stamina, any weapon just has to block to avoid losing it Intrepid heart also protects heaven sent
I made almost the same build. Same pieces and almost same skills too, but went for more affinity and attack and made a pretty good "general use" set. Good for pure shelling, fullburst, whatever I feel like playing. Can be used with any GL that has at least 3 level 2 decos worth of slots(4-2 for example).
I hope they implement lock on qurio rolls so that the trait I wanna keep is not rerolled with other trash attribute XD Maybe implement lock with incrementing additional cost to reroll, so that the more trait you lock it would get exponentially more expensive, it would make the journey have an ending in sight
Is there an update 6 version of this build? Is this the best gunlance for it? I’ve been struggling with gunlance in sunbreak due to how different it is from gu and worldborne, and this looks like the right build for me
I'm ashamed to say that, even though I have Sunbreak, I have not touch it yet... I got into Gunlance because of your videos though - I guess that might count for something 🤭
w how good charm crafting is and augmenting is you can make just a nutty build for whatever u want w enough time and grind honestly the rng could be toned down some but the idea of just huge power fantasy and customization endgame in mh is something i wanna see them keep going forward
About the issue with overcoming frenzy. A switch skill swap with heaven sent reduces the gauge by about half as well as healing most other negative statues
You should add 1 point of Coalescence, with Hellfire it has like 90% uptime which is a massive dps boost for just a single tier 2 deco. Also it still works really nice with Bloodlust if you decide to get rid of Hellfire. Coal 2 or 3 is much minor boost so not needed.
TU5 is probably to best bump in power we gotten even if the equipment isn't exactly the best for every weapon. I'm just happy with the new stuff. The bonus update I'm curious about since there stuff that got teased but we didn't get so I hope it feels like a great send off for a "final update". For anomaly investigation/research hope for the bonus update I think a more fun approach instead of just adding a more exp is have ability to the search for investigation of high level than your current level (as long as met the quest requirements) and have an exp modifier that scales with how much over the quest is compared to your level.
Not sure how the specifics work, but I have a bloodlust build for my glaive and whenever I notice I’m on the defensive and I’m about to lose to the frenzy, I pop a nulberry to buy me time, which makes it feel much more viable/less stressful. I should make one for my gunlance too this looks sick
I just like being able to block big attacks by guarding. I have Offensive Guard on and it procs so much in multiplayer. Not sure if I'm comfortable with the Qurio drain, but I suppose I could counteract with maxed Recovery? Guess I'll experiment.
I wish I was better at gunlance. It looks like such a fun weapon to play but I can’t get my timing down. It’s definitely a hard weapon to learn for me. Do you have any tips?
10:50 no wex 4 smile, nor crit boost as the other pure dps slots. 13:51 It's genuinely stupid and the worst part is anything past 241 and getting your 3 attack/3 crit eye 4 decos is just bragging stuff (as for the gems you'll be surprised on what builds get enabled having 3 as opposed to 2 at least that's how some weapons are) It also allows for another 10 units of sharpness, so it's probably the most impactful bonus, bar, shelling, slots up depending on your weapon, which is fitting considering it's the final one.
Back in base Sunbreak I was one of the defenders of "shell lvl doesn't matter that much" hell my favorite GL was astalos with a poke shell build it was really fun. Now its an entirely different story as shells do maybe 40% of all dmg in most builds unless you are fighting a 90% hitzone monster. Without CAPCOM giving us the option to lvl up shells GL would be dead nowadays.
Oh man I'm loving that Heaven Sent skill! I'm a hammer main and I'm thinking with that infinite sharpness and stamina in curious about insect glaive. How long can you be in the air with that skill 😂
4:25 THIS, this is why i hate qurio armor soo much, im on the verge of just using mods bc i dont wanna have a headache each time i try using this bs system
@@nicholasmarquez3399 the thing with "just use mods" is, if you are already using mods on one end, why should you not mod the whole game? that kept me from modding it. yeah RNG is kinda bad, but i´d rather play the game as intended than use mods. thats just my opinion.

Ah yes, set building in iceborne. Get full fatalis= done. Really interested and fun. Sunbreak atleast has interesting armor skills and options for armor pieces and different playstyle for all the weapons
