- Making machines intelligent has been the pursuit of inventors for ages. Pioneering mathematician Alan Turing developed a method to test machine intelligence in the 1950s. Seven decades later, no clever algorithm or complex machine has passed the Turing test. But signs of artificial intelligence surpassing human intelligence are visible in several quarters.
Will this be the generation that sees AI triumphing over human intelligence? That's the question John will be exploring with Dr. Anima in this inaugural podcast.
Guest: Dr. Anima Anandkumar, Bren Professor of Computing and Mathematical Sciences at the California Institute of Technology.
Host: John Xavier, Technology Editor, The Hindu.
Very interesting discussion John. Splendid cues.
Excellent thinking. ✍️
What does she even mean by science fiction ?
What we have now as tech advancements were once sci-fi.
AI is not sentient? Yes.. for now.. can she even describe what it takes for something to become sentient ?
Such a dumb way to think that AI becoming more intelligent than humans is not a possibility. How is she even a scientist with such a closed mindset. 😮
The doctor's parents appear to be more intelligent.
In naming her 'anima(tion)'!!!
What visionaries!!!
Can it work if a human chooses to switch off the machine?
Should we cease Ai? Or be… Laid off by Ai then human extinction? Or suffer an… Ai new world order? With swell robotics everywhere, Ai jobloss is the only thing I worry about anymore. Anyone else feel the same?
AI is unpredictable...
Jai shri AI 🙏🏾
Wow 😂
