I simply adjusted the aluminium Bergeon 5500 Crystal supports to the right diameter on a lathe, Frans.

I have been warned about buying one of these beautiful watches precisely because of the intricate and costly service to fix/restore. Can you share what a service on seiko sportura might actually cost. And if I do pick up one of these and it needs your attention to service it about how long the wait might be. Your channel really shows us how diverse the watchmaking industry can be.... I personally never seen such a watch design before. However, would have liked to see one level deeper into the watch movement, e.g. where the capacitor is situated.
I have received my watch, the one in this clip. The one on the left SLQ015. They did an amazing job! Amazing

My Seiko Kinetic chronograph absolutely needed a new capacitor since it was exhibiting a "power reserve" of ... 20 seconds 🙂 So I opened the case and started disassembling the movement in search of the component to replace. Well, the thing I learned is that this is a "Column Wheel" quartz chronograph, but also that it is way more complicated than a mechanical chronograph !!! I replaced the capacitor, the time only mechanism was working but I was not able to restart the "foudroyante" motor, that is giving life to the chronograph. So at the end I reassembled the watch and sent it to Seiko service in Japan. After 3 months and 800€ , I got it back nice and sound. Very happy

What language will be the book written in?
It will be in English, next to the text will be photos and a QR code so you can see a video explaining the text. All polishing and finishing techniques will also be shown in the book.
@@ChronoglideWatchmaking Maybe I may need a dictionary of all the special watchmakers expressions... Some of the expressions will even have synonyms.

What??!!?? You don't have a laser engraver in the shop??
Yes, I also expect, they have something like this. On the other hand, I just started with experiments with laser engraving and there is so much options in completely different price levels and It took me few evenings to get basic orientation :-D

Those watches are really beautiful. I am looking forward to "the book." I wonder if there will be a chapter by their electronics guru? As they say... if you have to ask, you can't afford it. But... still, if I ever see one of those, I sure the hell will ask. I am afraid restoration would be out of my budget, but perhaps a capacitor change one every decade. At my age, that would be two probably.

After all that hard work Kalle you should get older not younger well I guess the power of watchmaking is being able to turn back time and even a watch looks younger
My Seiko SFJ001 has a similar look but way way less complicated
A question: I never place my watches with bracelets down upon a surface so that they are resting upon their own bracelets. I notice that you do. Don’t you think that the bracelets can scratch the cases or vice versa? Love the videos by the way.
Neither do I, but this is the way is worn by the client.
