A major U.S. retailer carries these for about $24. I rebuilt a Channel Master 4221 (four elements), but this would be a good deal if I were in a metropolitan location. If you need VHF, you may prefer something wider.
I got this antenna back in 2009 and was amazed at how good it did then , picking up channels from 45 miles out, and now it doesnt do so good with the new signels changes. Making my own antenna now with the longer wiskers. Check out cosmic antenna , very nice builds on his channel, very similar to this design.
Nice review. You might try minor tweaks with this antenna. I have done before and after tests having substantially improved vhf hi reception in doing so, and at little or no expense of uhf signals. Tested indoors 4ft off the 1st floor right next to tv, aimed thru 2 walls. 10ft pigtail coax of horrible quality. Vhf tower at 20 mi, single defraction.
I will add that, regardless of the specs for forward vhf hi gain, you might try spinning this antenna 180 deg and facing the rear toward the vhf tower.
I install this antenna regularly. I love the design. Amazing resistance to storm/wind. I was surprised

I’ll have a look, thanks for the suggestion, and for watching.

I would put this up with a Channel Master CM94444 balun. So you wont have to replace the cheap one that this comes with
Good idea.
Will this let me get internet? TH-cam? Thanks.
No, only local broadcast television channels.
that is a omnidirectional antenna, right?
It is directional and must be aimed. Though it will have some pickup from the back side as well. There will be almost no pickup from the sides.
@@NorthcoasterHobby thanks for your answer
@@megacap55 You’re welcome.
This antenna is so cheap . 16 $ used. With 4 of them and some diy skills people can make themself a 8 bay for 64 dollars plus tax.
Cheaper is good so lnng as it works well.
