Brother put the 440cc kit on this thing
I would run the vortex high comp piston and rings and the 440cc big bore kit on this beast she would be a true best with that 440cc big bore kit

hint- if you take the dip stick out of the reservoir the oil will drain faster. just let’s it get more air

And it has nothing to do with the twist throttle. It's the rider experience level.

A good tip in wheelies, you can’t be scared to lift it up, you’re never gonna hold a wheelie wen you let the throttle off as it starts gettin up. But you’ll get there

He just finished the other 400 build....why would you want to watch him do it again on a different colored frame? Seems boring to watch the same content I guess. Not saying anything bad because I’m a subscriber and like his content but nah I’d rather not watch him rebuild another engine that he literally just rebuilt

I’m not saying leave it but yeah do it off camera or show little updates as he works on a new series. All I’m getting at is I was completely satisfied with watching him do the same repairs he’s about to do in the first round on the red one and honestly probably would just fast forward through most of it because like I just said I watched the same repair from the same guy like a month ago no offense to 2V but that’s how I feel. If he adds snow gear like the previous guy said then I’m sure there will be a separate episode after he’s fixed the 400 on transformation to snow gear... all I’m saying bruh anywho he’s an inspiration as well as others like cars and cameras and junk yard digs and vgg and ghpc and if it weren’t for them I’d probably not even take the time to comment on these things but because I’m a start up TH-camr myself I feel like I should but anyone who wants to check out my TH-cam feel free to like, subscribe ect. Check the charging system. To me spark got weak cause battery died.
If u bore the cylinder and go over a 416 piston u better install oversized head studs. Speaken from experience sedn msny 426s and 440s pull headstuds

Well, you definitely sent it. If I was a betting man I'd say somewhere around the wrist pin/connecting rod area is where it failed even though I didn't hear any catastrophic metallic noises.

after this little series you should get a HONDA XR650L (1992 & LATER)
Pull the plug to kill the comps and put that battery on a charger and see if that cranks over. Worth a try before you start pulling heads and Jugs. You have the absolute best next door ATV channel. Been riding for 30 years and I think for your age you are fantastic.

Clapped out quad clapped out results. These 400EX's were awesome in the day. Problem is they need rebuilt entirely (motor, chassis, plastics) that you have to have the money to sink into them.
Guys wider axle and A-arms. Widen the bike put some 450R front shocks on her and a 440 big bore kit if you have the paper. More than likely just the top end.
Just because the bolt is tight doesn't mean it wasn't changed recently
It was on there so tight. Trust me it hasn't been changed. Plus the oil was black and the guy said he had no ride time on it after he did the oil change.

If you want better handling, raise your handlebars! I raise all my dirtbikes and my 1 blaster’s handlebars. Improves the handling alot. (Just an example!)

I had a problem like this with my 400 ex piston and cylinder kept locking up. On the new piston drill oil holes on the piston skirt. So far so good.
rip engine 😂 might have started with ring since the guys who towed you saw a puff of smoke before 🤔😄
i have a Cheap kit in my 400ex rebuilt it 3 yrs ago when i was 15 still runs Great Imo
Yay more content now that it blew. It'll be a great learning experience, oh wait, youve already done a 400ex. No worries, just do it like OEM this time not ebay. I will only buy OEM for my Hondas and they always last a long time and I def beat them good.

You should do a big bore on this quad since you did the stock bore on the other one... So you have one of each
It's a nice ride love the carbon fiber plastic's it does suck that happin but youll get it up & running again man, should go with a bore kit with this one sents you gotta rebuild it.

2019 since the last oil change that’s not as long as my 400 It hasn’t been changed that I know of

do it cheap, you do it twice! maybe you have the base for a sorted 400 ex or whatever it is , maybe a big bore kit? , drain the oil and run it through a sieve to check for metal but i don’t think i’d trust just slapping a top end on it. maybe the old cylinder that came with it can be bored out oversize piston new bearings etc ?
Dupicolor stainless steel wheel paint works the best for touching up the frame in the 400exs
I had a 400 that did the same thing. It jumped timing. Guarantee thats what happened. Verify its in time still before you dump money into it. Battery also sounds dead at the end from trying to start it so much

Bet u any money that the battery wasn’t charging and that’s what killed it try hooking a battery charger up and it will probably fire right up

@@williamdarling3873 I think what he's getting at is the stator in the quad was defective which killed the battery maybe? I was just ripping my yfz hard and noticed after turning it off my battery died but I had nothing else on like lights or anything. so idk wtf made my battery die (and now needs to be replaced) but that might be what he's talking about?

I’ll give a bit of help with atv and bike paint goto pj1 they make all the colors for them I order mine from my local shop it’s great paint and matches way better than guessing
When you tear it down. Please check your ring gap. At my shop in southern Wisconsin I see this all the time. Rebuilds with wrong ring gaps, wrong piston sizes ect. Might of been a ring put on with bad gap. Probably .005 or something. I understand it could be many things but this is common... by do it yourselves lately at my business.

2 quart sounds like a lot to me I'm not a quad guy but there should be a boat on the right side trans side that you pull out you put transmission oil in it go to oil comes out. Are normal dirt bikes about 33 Oz
I’d do stock bore big bore takes life away from it you have the 450 so need just do stock bore rebuild! Trust me!!

Another thing I just thought of that 400 ex looks like its went threw many cylinders. it could possibly be someone put that white bros exhaust and didn't get the right jets or changed them at all. That could be why its going threw all them cylinders

Did this just go from an expensive project to a stupid expensive project? Real bummer Joe hopefully the bottom end isn't destroyed! Giving you 20 squirts of WD-40 on this one......your gonna need it!
Listening to idle when you were warming it up. The timing chain is slapping bad. Alot of people blame the tensioner on this but it is actually caused by a stretched timing chain. Very very common thing on a 400ex. Get one off a crf450r drops right in and requires zero modification. It is alot stronger. Most likely when you "blew it up" you skipped timing thats why it seized up. Interference engine so timing is very important. Also anyone who says doing wheelies straves the topend is an idiot. This is a dry sump oil system so it pulls oil from the bottom of the oil tank and will have zero effect on anything with the front end in the air. This was a common failure on a 300ex that didnt have a dry sump oil sytem.

Didnt sound rapid enough to be valves. The timing chain has a very specific rpm and "clunk" sound. Its not as deep or slow as rod knock but right in the middle. Valves also get worse the more its revved. The timing chain noise goes away when revving. Its only at idle.
You should get a Yamaha RT180 they are so coooool
I think u need a full rebuild kit and invest in a new starter and solenoid and maybe even a battery
You gotta work in that motor the 400ex was the best 2006 in up they had reverse all older 400exs I had nothing but problems with them just my opinion.

Bought a Meier carbon fiber hood for my raptor 350. Since it was $50, I figured it was cheap plastic made to look like real carbon fiber. Imagine my surprise when it came in and in the package was a card with carbon fiber care information.

The 450 it's running on 22's rear tyres. Stocks are 20's like the 400 ex. Even with those tyres the 450 smoked the 400 ex
.3 hours ride time and tires that bald shoulda been a red flag...
It was knocking pretty bad I could hear it over the muffler and sadly my 450 blew up today and it was so sad once I knew it wouldn’t start back
And I’m not gonna lie I was doing burn outs and stuff all day long for 2 or 3 days straight
Sad but its a Honda with not originalparts in engine then its not bulletproof anymore. But you will get it going again im sure 👍

Same thing happen to my 400ex I paid 2 grand and it had the same ticking noise later on metal In the oil i sold it i wonder what's that noise
