    Thanks for the invite! It was a super fun day and the chance to a stock car was pretty cool!

      Thanks for joining us! Was pretty cool to have a couple of friends join who actually hit the race track regularly...Though I bet these stock cars felt like woolly beasts by comparison to what you typically are wheeling!

      @@RetroCarsForever It was pretty interesting to drive one of these! Vastly more grip than I'm used to, but they didn't let us go very fast!

      @@revmatchtv Losing grip in one of these sounds...sketchy! 😂
      And these "older" NASCAR stock cars have way LESS grip than the "Next Gen" cars they're currently racing (they now have wider, more low-profile tires)

    Bummed that the algorithm seems to have buried this one! I was rewatching your C4 buyers guide thinking "I haven't seen a video from RCF in a while" and lo and behold... hope to see more great content from you soon! C4s forever! :)

      Thanks so much! Yeah no kidding the algorithm wasnt friendly to this video, but I had a blast making it!
      Next video is about C4 headlight repair tips, so stay tuned and thanks for checking in.

    These experiences used to let you go a lot faster. When "Nascar Racing Experience" took over, they ruined it. With Richard Petty experience, i paid $300 for 8 laps at Michigan. Ran 160 MPH. The next year, $300 for 8 laps at Indy. Ran 150 MPH there. Both of these had the instructor in the car. I ran at the old Chicago Motor Speedway in 1999. Back then they didn't let you get very much straightaway speed, but you did carry a lot of corner speed. The cars were set up really tight. I slid the front tires a couple of times and had to jump off the gas.

      I wonder if that was because of safety concerns. I definitely wish we were allowed to go faster. I didn't at any point feel like I was even approaching the edge of control (never felt the tires slide, even though the surface had a few rain sprinkles).
      Interesting that you had an instructor in the car, when was that?

      @@corvettemode1556 Heh, thanks! I am a video editor by trade, actually. Knowing how to edit footage together was one of the things that made me confident in starting my own TH-cam channel, as its one of the most difficult skills beginning TH-camrs have to figure out.

    I did a different NASCAR experience many years ago in PA but the track was a super short one and the experience was for sure not as great as the one you did! Felt like we didnt go past 20mph🤣🤣

    • @RetroCarsForever
      @RetroCarsForever  ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm curious what track that was...The only PA NASCAR track that comes to mind is Pocono, which is HUGE and pretty fast so betting that wasn't it.

  • @ostihpem

    Oh I forgot: I will try to race at Tallageda Superspeedway. Any idea if the speed is the same around 140 mph or can u go faster there?

    • @RetroCarsForever
      @RetroCarsForever  ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m not sure about Talladega, I suspect it would be a bit faster average speed because of more banking but not sure if your top speed will be much more. That said, what a great track to visit!

    • @mynintendogamingfeed5208
      @mynintendogamingfeed5208 ปีที่แล้ว

      Talladega's a superspeedway track, so there may be restrictor plates that might have to be on the car itself.

  • @ostihpem
    @ostihpem ปีที่แล้ว

    I am thinking about doing it. Tough to choose between ride-along and self-ride, but I am leaning towards self-ride. But I am from Germany, so my english language skills are good but not mother-tongue like. Can this be a problem?

    • @RetroCarsForever
      @RetroCarsForever  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hmm I’d consider the ride along over the driving experience. There’s a lot of oral instruction given for the driving experience, beforehand and during the drive via the spotters radio.
      The ride along experience doesn’t require much instruction at all, you just hop in and enjoy the ride!

    • @ostihpem
      @ostihpem ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RetroCarsForever Is it difficult to follow? What are they talking about on the radio? Technical stuff oder things like „please, shift to higher gear now“.

    • @RetroCarsForever
      @RetroCarsForever  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ostihpem Before the driving experience, they tell you how to get started, how to shift, how to get in and out, and safety precautions.
      Once you're driving, they mostly tell you about what lines to take around the track, to move up or down around other cars, and when to pit and how to slow down and things like that.
      I wouldnt say any of it is difficult to follow but I'm not sure how well you can translate on the fly.
