A great help for my Golf V Comfort line. Just cleaned the window switch pcb by carefully dismantelling the twin window up/down switch with a spot of WD 40 contact cleaner put back everything together Magic! It works. Thank you mate for your very easy to follow step by step instructions.
Great video! I have a seat Leon mk2 and think I have a similar problem. I could do with a little help currently. The driver side window switches work for the driver, passenger and driver rear but not for the passenger rear.. The passenger rear does work off its own switch just not from the drivers. I currently have the driver and passenger rear door panels off and would like to solve this before work the weekend any help appreciated
My electric window switches on drivers door stopped working also the mirrors, Heating and motor and the fuel flap release And it doesn't central lock, Is this all on one circuit, ? Thanks ,👍
Hi Leon have a question for ya. I have a mk4 with the same break in wiring behind the boot on the drivers door. I took the harness out but while starting the process saw the lights on all of the door go off thinking oh well because I was going to repair the wiring anyways and figure it just had lost power due to a bad wire finally giving or breaking. Well after repairing the wiring in between the door and the car and snapping everything back into place i still have no power at all to the door anymore where as before i only had no power going to the window unless the door was open. Could I have burned out the same switch while moving the wires around and would this cause the whole door besides the speaker to also not work if that switch doesnt work? I'm not all sure what runs on what circuit with these vw doors.
Hi mate it's actually very easy all you need to do is disconnect the multi plug from the door you then can remove the elastic rubber shield remove the check strap of the door which will allow you to open it a bit more and you can fix it easy
I have a MK 5 58 plate golf, the front passenger side window always goes down & up, but drivers side has not been going down & it’s intermittent but recently has started to go up & down, the back right always works but back left is quite unreliable & hasn’t been working but went up about a month ago, but put it down a few days ago & has not gone up, the circular dialler on the right hand side of drivers side doesn’t work to control electric folding wing mirrors. Could this be the issue & in terms of wiring are is all connected with all the other mirrors? & how best to resolve it? Thanks
Hi mate as far as I know for that particular model is underneath the driver's steering wheel or in between the centre console more towards the heater matrix
This is one wiring diagrams and knowing your circuit comes in handy but the problem is the information cost a fortune this is what people don't understand this is why we charge what we do because everything cost a fortune
VW is at fault for this and many other manufactures - seems odd they can overengineer the rest of the car but can't figure out how to engineer some pass thru wires from the instrument panel to the door without a total cockup like that. 😂😂
I say bring it on let them overlook more problems that's what keeps me in business it's funny when I see mechanics complaining about problems with cars if there was no problems we would not be in business I say bring it on lol
Just wait until the latest cars are a few years old, problems like this will be everyday occurrences. Mechanical problems will be vastly less than electrical problems. As for electric cars? They not all designed for our crappy wet environment. People will be surprised just how far and how fast moisture can track up a wire. Good news if you business is fixing these mobile nightmares, bad news if you the owner!

For a guy who shows so little... you show a lot! Great stuff! =)
Thanks mate
So....how do you repair wires and how did you get switch out? 🤔
My electric window switches on drivers door stopped working also the mirrors, Heating and motor and the fuel flap release And it doesn't central lock, Is this all on one circuit, ? Thanks ,👍
Please can you tell me which is the fuse for both front windows?

If you can give me some advice / tips that would be brilliant as I’m clueless in this.
Thanks
Again Sorted mate! You very good with the electric bits :-)
Thanks mate
Do you no where the module for central locking is located on a vw polo 06 plate plz
Hi mate as far as I know for that particular model is underneath the driver's steering wheel or in between the centre console more towards the heater matrix
Good job mate
Thanks mate
right and left don't work. buttons replaced. I can hear the controller module
Excellent mate.
Thank mate
Same problem in the new shape transit worst thing is every wire is black

Nice job!
Thanks mate
That failure point seems pretty common. The owner should be happy with the fix. Not so expensive as it could have been.
yes mate very common on a lot of cars
Some witchcraft going on there 😂👍
Lol
I know you were chewing on those wires Leon!
Ssshhhh lol

Yes I say bring it on I find it funny when mechanics moan about problems with cars if we didn't have any problems we would have no business

Lol noooo lots more wrong
