Hello, I was very excited to find this video. I just got some of my first spinel! I like the color options and purchased some in red, blue, purple/grey and this incredible hot pink!
I had a couple questions about spinel. Is spinel heavier than some other gems. ( it seems like my spinel are smaller than equal carat gems of other types)
Does most spinel have a grey overtone?
Also what is the average carat weight of spinel?
As always, thank you for the informative videos.
    Cheers

So the generic class rings that say green shamrock spinel are synthetic or natural? I was under the impression the stones used for that were basically costume jewelry stones.

Its hard for me to say withought seeing the stone in person but green spinel is one of the rarer colors, especially if it's a very vibrant shade. Maybe try putting it under blue UV lighting, if it glows then that would be a very easy way of telling its synthetic :)
Let me know if that helps!

You should make a video about semi precious stones like amethyst and citrine qualities and prices

Very nice color samples, but unfortunately Spinel can be heated to enhance color and filled with oil or resin to enhance clarity. Treated spinels are very rare, but we see more and more stones on market. So for expensive stone good certificate is a must have option.

Yes now we are seeing heated stones, you can watch my new spinel video for more info

thanks for the look into spinels. I'm getting more and more interested in these gems and loved the greyish tones to the purple and blues/ bluegreens. (PS: future videos, maybe avoid the sound effect dubs? its distracting from your content.)
