    National media understands the true depths of hell that the Carolina Panthers are actually in far better than our own fanbase. I'd love to see a video that's the inverse, where certain fanbase way over-inflate the talent on their roster or such things, and national media, bless their heart, actually get right more often than wrong.

    Strouds "regression" is more to do with the fact that Slowik is calling a lot of true dropbacks and the Texans just cant protect long enough for it. Stroud is running for his life half of the time it feels like

    • @King_Immanuel
      @King_Immanuel 12 วันที่ผ่านมา +8

      @@SuperMurray2009 Slowik has been weird. Was ridiculous loyal to the run even when it was only getting like 3 a carry, but at least that opened up play action shots. This year he keeps calling dropbacks even when they are clearly not working. I don't know what that's about but my patience is real thin with him after the Jets game

    • @BillsLover99
      @BillsLover99 12 วันที่ผ่านมา +4

    • @VinegarAndSaltedFries
      @VinegarAndSaltedFries 12 วันที่ผ่านมา +5

      Strouds regression is because Defensive coordinator’s now have the advanced tape on him and an offseason to study. They will continue to throw roadblocks that Stroud must overcome if he wants to be great. Otherwise he will be average and might get a 2nd contract from another team. Keep in mind anytime rookies start off looking good, Coordinators don;t yet have tape on them. They don’t get that 6 full games. And by that point we are already so deep into a season that they need to game plan for this weeks opponent. It’s why Sophomore slumps are a thing. That said Slowik is also a young coach. He’s made awful mistakes especially considering the personnel Texans are dealing with. He was always a “fake sharp” head coach because analytics nerds proved him up unnecessarily. But Brett is just 100% wrong saying he hasn’t. Stroud is fleeing from clean pockets. He is sensing pressure when it doesn’t exist and he’s inaccurate.

    As a Lions fan one narrative I constantly hear is that Goff is dependent on Ben Johnson and things will fall apart if he leaves.
    Most outside of our fanbase dont realise that in 2021 our OC Anthony Lynn was stripped of play calling duties and Campbell took over for just under half the season. While we were still a poor team the difference was night and day.
    If/When Ben leaves we will be perfectly fine

  • @Kharn996
    @Kharn996 10 วันที่ผ่านมา +6

    As a Saints fan, you did right by me. This is the problem with our freaking team. I've seen people ask "How were they so good the first two weeks then fell off a cliff?". Well, two reasons: A.) We're way too old and our depth is screwed, so as soon as guys start getting hurt there's significant dropoff. B.) Dennis Allen as a head coach just will NOT help you steer through any sort of adversity.
    At least as of today, Dennis Allen is gone, so I hope they realize how much change is in order and we can start to heal.

  • @Levi_music1

    It seemed like Nico helped mitigate the bad interior o-line play of the Texans during the early part of the season because he could reliably get open quickly early on in the play before the pressure could effect Stroud and when the pressure did get to him and Stroud had to extend the play, their connection with each other on scramble drills was extremely good. Nico is a huge part of why the offense is so successful especially at the start of the season and they’ve missed him a lot more than the national media realize

    • @dos_gringos9853

    I can't say what the national media gets right or wrong about my team because i don't even know if Eagles fans know what's right or wrong with this team.
    I'm just here for the rollercoaster of emotions this team has me riding that I was unfortunately tall enough to ride.

    • @kman9884
      @kman9884 10 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Eagles just have a coach who thinks that the team is talented enough to execute his demands. Often, they fall short. That was evident against the Jaguars with all the 2pt conversions and 4th down plays. The Eagles are good enough to convert all of those plays, but they failed for one reason or another.

    • @ultrahotwings9738
      @ultrahotwings9738 10 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @kman9884 That.. is actually a really good way to put into words the thing that has been bothering me about this team and I couldn't describe.
      It doesn't help that this fanbase is blasting him for those "points left on the field" for his aggression, while complimenting the very same things he does when it works (like the AJ Brown TD on 4th and 3). Had one radio host say "you should only be aggressive if points are coming easily" in regards to the Falcons game, while this week slamming the missed field goals.. even though points were coming easily in the beginning.
      It just honestly feels like the fanbase is just as rollercoaster hot-and-cold as the team with no consistency outside of constant demands for perfection..

  • @ajkfala

    As a ravens fan, Stephens has certainly been bad but a lot of the fall off has been way more related to schematic changes and safety play. Rather than utilizing Hamilton as a Swiss army knife, he’s been played a lot more traditionally than last year and is just ok in that role. With whatever the situation is with Marcus Williams, now Eddie Jackson is playing a lot and yikes! The interior of the line is shattered now as well. Lamar could play better than any quarterback ever has for the rest of the season and the defense would still be the end of us.

    It's not so commonly said as it used to be but saying Goff can't play outside in even barely inclement weather. And that Goff can't play under pressure. Well he's been winning in Green Bay and Chicago. The lions have been excellent on the road. The weather might change the way coaches call plays but that's not on Goff. Then with pressure analyst have seen how ridiculous he's been against the blitz. They see Goff feel pressure, step up and throw a dart so they change the definition of pressure. Now it's like well Goff isn't good while he's currently being tackled by two guys. Analyst need Goff to be a product of the system and team rather than the integral piece that he is

      Tell us more about Goff's ability to win outdoor games in January then. Lions will have their chances in the coming years. If anything a big reason to Goff's positive numbers this season is that he's not subject to an absurd amount of pass attempts. And when Ben Johnson really needs to control the clock and possessions in the 2nd half, that diverse run game with the O-line and Sun God being cash money on late downs have been the game breakers.

      When you watch your team long enough to develop and flip the switch on their identities. The offense went from predictable with Lamar being the run game to now being the best in franchise history with Henry + Lamar designed run offense. While still being sound under center to utilize play action and spread looks. Meanwhile the defense certainly has the players but scheme wise is putting them more in basic roles to still work playing aggressive.

    I do agree with the evaluation of Jordan Love v. Aaron Rodgers. I always appreciated Rodgers for his efficiency, accuracy, his ability to read defenses and pick them apart, etc. But in certain situations throughout his career, like in the many playoff disappointments , he seemed to freeze or slow down or clam up when the pressure dialed up. He had some spectacular come-backs too, so it wasnt just that he couldnt handle the pressure. It was more like "As long as he feels comfortable, he's a monster. But once he starts feeling uncomfortable, he starts looking smaller." It also didnt help that Green Bay's Defense never had the caliber of coaching or whatever to keep up with opponents' defenses.
    If Jordan Love turns out the way I want, I would love to see him turn out to be a Rodgers/Farve fusion - where he's a monster who reads defenses well and masterfully puts the ball where it needs to go but he also knows when to cut loose and just wing it. Right now, he's a little more Farve than Rodgers, but that's already so much better than anything I could've asked for. Kid'll be fine and do great things.

Keep that in mind and remember they are building for the playoffs and John Harbaugh teams always fix their issues and improve. Brandon Stephens is playing awful no question but Maulet just came back so Marlo can play outside and Wiggins gets better every week. I guarantee they will be back to a legit defense by the playoffs. Maybe not great but good enough. I guarantee it!! Most of their problems is explosive plays and that will go way way down.

    Packers fan here. I completely agree with Dan's comment on Love. Rodgers is infamous for losing his cool and breaking down if he throws an early pick, or completely cutting off receivers if they drop a ball. Even under LaFleur, if the offense got punched in the face, they just gave up.
    Love is not like that at all, he truly processes the game one play at a time. Love has no qualms about taking shots and trying to move the ball. Ever. Even if a receiver has butter hands that game, Love will still go back to him if he is open. There's a level of trust in his teammates, his coaches and himself that is just so unbelievably refreshing. Yeah, the picks will probably come back to bite us in the ass eventually, but god is it fun to watch him connect on those risky passes.

      A true gunslinger. He’s fully aware of how him and his team is are playing, but he just doesn’t care. All he wants is to make a play on every down he’s on the field. I think that helps elevate the defense too. They feel free to play their game, bc they trust jordan won’t be swayed by the game script

      People seem to overlook the Packers receiver group is very young and still getting more experience playing under LaFleur's schemes. Granted Love probably bears the burden of how that pass offense operates in structure and piloting things out of structure. But all those reps together will pay dividends in the near future especially in high leverage out of structure situations.

    I comment this before watching the show because I don't want my thoughts to be in influenced by your way superior football knowledge but I feel like Washington's Defense deserves some more attention. Everybody is (rightfully) giving a lot of props to JD and the offense, but in the mean time Dan Quinn is doing wonders making sure his defense that on paper should be one of the worst in the league doesn't give up 30+ points, and he is - in ways I do not currently comprehend - doing so. (And I'm not even a true Commanders fan lol)

      I have actually been yapping about this a lot because it makes me mad that people keep putting lamar in the mvp conversation
      Going into week 8 henry had 150 more rushing yards than second place (barkley with the eagles) Lamar at 5th had 100 less than geno at 1st, the difference between Henry and Second place is farther then 1st to 5th on passing yards which should be bigger numbers
      The Ravens are also 1-3 in games that Henry got less than 20 carries with the only win being the bengals game that they won in overtime by a field goal
      The Ravens are UNDEFEATED when they give the best player on the team the ball and they keep refusing to do it

    • @t4d0W
      @t4d0W 9 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Henry has 'completed' a functional offense in a way that CMC has done for the Niners and to some extent Saquon for the Eagles. But it makes sense because those outlier RBs were the 'whole' offense for team at some point and put up results. But being multipliers to a team with a bunch of talent on offense when schemed right is going to put results regardless. McKinney being the guy that completes a Packers defense where it is known their edge/D-line is getting to be great and have other pieces on DBs (Alexander but oft injured) was something nobody really saw in 2024. Even now when Packers DC Halfley is starting to get into his bag coaching wise and putting results.

And I think Dan Campbell is still perceived as a risk-taking meathead. TB12 isn't A game manager, he is THE game manager. It's a compliment, not a slight.....despite the fact that most people seem to interpret it as such. Goff is emerging as the next elite game manager in the league now. The narrative that the national media pushed on him is slowly starting to turn, which is nice to see, as he is the most disrespected/under-respected elite QB in the NFL today. There are only 3 QBs now that I would rather have under center than Goff......Mahomes, Josh Allen & Lamar Jackson. The list of QBs I would take Goff ahead of includes: Hurts, Stroud, Love, Purdy, Dak, Stafford, Rodgers, Kyler, Lawrence, Caleb, & Jayden....among others. Goff is about to "game manage" his way to a Super Bowl ring & an MVP this year & even that won't be enough to convince some people that he is elite bc they can't seem to let go of past narratives or comprehend the fact that players can grow & develop with time & experience.
