How Liverpool let the 2013-14 Premier League slip away

- With a few games to go in the 2013/14 season, Steven Gerrard and Liverpool FC were on the verge of winning their first Premier League title EVER. All they had to do was not let games against Chelsea and Crystal Palace get away from them (which they did), and the league was theirs (which it wasn't). It was one of the most epic collapses in recent sports history, but how did it happen?

It was Kolo Toures fault when he passed it to ODEMWINGIOooo at West Brom
I'm a huge football(soccer) fan,so big thanks for the awsome video
I was around 12 at the time and I vividly remember the disappointment in my dad's face as we both sat there dumbstruck, ofcourse Gerrard would also go along and lose his final game for Liverpool💔
People forgot that Liverpool were still on top after that match what really killed them was the 3-3 draw against Crystal Palace
Finally someone actually remembers. Blowing that 3 goal lead had Suarez crying cause he knew they screwed up big time 👍👍
History repeats itself once again
@@redkhamelejoon1599 even if they’d hung on and won 3-0 against CP, it wouldn’t have mattered. At that point they were set to tie Man City and Man City was up +9 in goal differential. They would have had to win like 12-0.
Great video
That slip by Steven Gerrard from Mahamadou Sakho's pass was horrific. Liverpool just intended to go out and blow them away, but struggled to break them down and lost 2-0 to a team that rested players for a midweek European Cup game v Athletico Madrid.
Did they go out?
They conceded too many goals.
So basically, Liverpool being in a title race was all Gerrards work, but losing it in the last 4 games was everyone’s fault except Gerrards? 😂
Jose Mourinho ❤❤❤
Nah slip away is crazy
Who come here again after Liverpool loss 0-1 from Crstal Palace at Anfield 2024??? 😅
It’s happening AGAIN
I love your content but Imma skip this one, don’t need the hurt right now.
slippy GGGGGG
And then Sunderland won at Chelsea
bro is getting psychological and trying to find some deeper reason when the simple fact is that liverpool wouldve won if gerrard didnt slip and they didnt bottle the palace game 😂
They would have needed to beat Crystal Palace by 11 goals for it to even matter. Winning 3-0 would still have meant they’d tie with Man City but be down -11 in goal differential.
There's a lot of nonsense talked about that season, including here. Liverpool could have played for a draw against Chelsea, but their winning streak had come from an attacking mindset, so suddenly playing for a draw would not have come naturally. The fact is that Mourinho (love him or hate him) produced a tactical masterclass, and Liverpool lost. It happens - it doesn't make it a bottle job. Similarly v Palace, Liverpool decided to go for it, having gone 3-0 up in the hope that they might some pressure on City's goal difference. It was a gamble that didn't come off but was worth taking. Again, not a bottle job. Bottle jobs are when teams revert to negativity when the key moments arrive - Liverpool did the opposite. City won the League that year, and Liverpool didn't, because City were 2 points better. (At least until the City FFP charges are resolved. 😉)
Absolute bottlejobs 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
A team including Mignolet, Victor Moses, Joe Allen, Skrtel and John Flanagan can't bottle what they had no right to be involved, it's a miracle that team even got close to a title
