In his prime: devastating. Fast, big, strong, cynical, winning mentality, great in the air, great outside the box, great inside the box, great dribbler, great technique, great team work on the whole pitch.. The guy was like a tornado.

@@turntablesrockmyworld9315 Unlike those 2016- liverpool fans that are comparing Torres to Nunez in the comments I appreciate that you're giving him a proper opponent in the person of Luis Suarez. To me they were both vicious strikers. Torres was a bit more elegant in how he moved with the ball while Suarez was just savage. Loved both and I thank both for the happiness that they provided to us Fans. Cheers mate!

Watching him play was like watching a lion pick off a wounded gazelle. He was an apex predator, it was instinctual. No emotion, no fear, no mercy, and unrelenting dead-eye ruthlessness. Didn't say much, didn't complain for no service, barely spoke to the ref, he just had one thing on his mind at all times and was constantly on the hunt. I think that's what gave him an edge over every defense. Nothing phased him, he was always probing to make his own opportunities and looking for his next kill. List the top 10 centerbacks at that time and he didn't care, they were just prey to him. When he wanted the ball and you didn't meet his energy, he simply went right through you and took what he wanted. There were so many goals where he simply overpowered world-class centerbacks when they weren't up to the challenge.

One of the strikers I loved the most.Right foot, left foot, header, outside the box, around the goalie. He had everything, full package. When he is back to the goal and he turns his defender you know its over. With all that said, still don't know what happened to him at Chelsea. They don't make strikers like these nowadays. Seems like he wasn’t ever worried about winning a foul, even in the box always stood strong and tried 2 get a shot off, almost like he knew how could he was at those off balance shots so he took his chances.

I don’t know what happened after 2012 but players are just not as good as they used to be compared now to 90s and 00s

They became too soft, lacking character.

That's because defending is better in recent years. Midfielders now join in defence and there's tactic to trap certain player

We don’t have a striker as good as him today. The one who comes closer to
It is mbape, but still lacks that special touch of finesse prime Torres had.

Blond hair Torres was a force of nature. He was absolutely lethal around 2007-2010. Arguably the best striker in the league (Drogba was close second). Ruined by injuries🤕

From my observation, Torres seems play rougher compare to other Liverpool striker. We see he outmuscle strong defender a lot but that also his downfall as injury of both knee slows him down after the worldcup. Unlike Suarez or Salah, Suarez with silky touch while Salah rather let it go some challenge but defender still make mistakes after so there is still chance. With Torres style of play that hurt his longevity.

We didn't have much back in the days.. Just Torres and Gerrard upfront.
The rest were supporting casts and really.. besides Alonso, Mascherano, and Reina.. We didn't have much talents.
Super defensive plays with two guys rocking up front, but somehow we were competing.. Not winning, but competing.
