Letting viewers, skilled workers and clients know how much you charge for your skill, time and effort is good. It allows a starting point, a realistic-as-life-is type of trade that people need to know. Thank you for the commentary in your videos. Always good stuff.
Definitely keep costs in the same format that you have done previously. Too many people don't like talking about money and it doesn't really provide any benefit by not speaking about it. It will help set expectations for both tradesmen and clients too.
Yes please, as it’s so very useful to have an idea just how much jobs cost, personally I find it so very helpful. Keep up the brilliant work, all the very best.👍
Keep sharing your prices mate I think it’s brilliant, helps me out as I’ve not long just started myself. Also transparency with clients, it’s healthy to talk about mone, what things are worth and it encourages a good relationship with finances. Breaking down what it costs you to keep running would be an interesting video. some clients don’t appreciate the bigger pictur., what it took and what you still have to put in to be where you are. Keep up the graft mate!💪
always nice to stay up to date with the latest prices and what different areas around uk charge for different jobs. so yeh i think there's no harm in sharing as its educational rather then a flex
It's nice to know what you earn from each job after you've taken out all your expenses, every job is different so it's good of you to share the information 👍
Definitely add in for what you charge for exactly the resons you stated why you say it in the first place. You put it at the end of videos and for those who don't want to know they can simply stop watching at that point. You stated in one of your videos that you make these videos cause you enjoy making them and to help others so All info is relevant. I remember when i started many years ago I had no idea what to charge and there was no-one to find this out from that was willing to share this important information. I undercharged so many jobs at the beginning that I nearly went bust. Some jobs i thought upon quoting that i may be overpricing. I loved doing the jobs but hated quoting cause that part is never taught when learning a trade. I simply had no idea or guidance at that time so your info will help those that desperately need it. Its only what you charge so its simply a guideline. Keep up the great work
just come across your channel, really down to earth and honest. I like that you include the cost. Keep up the good work. I've being doing carpentry for 30 years and its great to see young enthusiastic people showing off their talent!
Hey really good job as usual. I believe your trying to educate up coming entrepreneurs navigate the ups and downs of starting a business. Transparency is not always offered an people have to figure things out. I’m grateful for the information and educational videos you offer. Keep it coming brother.
Your openness about your charges is at least half of the reason I watch you. It puts perspective on the subject and the added benefit is that potential customers are price conditioned by it. It is very healthy and refreshing to see the full picture. Your remark about how it would have helped you, is very important. You are a one man business. Honest competitors in a free market have nothing to fear from your candid presentations. I hope you can continue to be your own man, and thrive as such. Thank you.
Yes bro, I enjoy every single video you upload, I hope more and more work comes your way and the subscriber numbers keep going up. I personally prefer it when you include the cost of jobs as it’ll give me an idea what to charge when I eventually become self employed in years to come. As an apprentice I was always battling in my head about whether or not this trade was the best for me but as time went by I just got better and better and started enjoying it 10x more. I hope your apprentice does the same and realises soon that the satisfaction is worth it every day.
as you said, it helps people know how much to charge. I like it, I am still learning what I can charge people. I like knowing. Sometimes in your previous videos, I thought, wow, thats all he earned?? Other times I was super impressed with that you earned. Keep up the good work!
Keep up dating on what you charge ignore the negative comments, the information your providing is valuable to those who want to know where they stand in this industry
When I was around your apprentice age, I worked for my uncle in London fmb. It was tough and looking back probably the best moments as spending time with like minded people is rare in the workplace. This blog reminds me of that time. P.s. your transparency speaks volumes. Enjoy your day sir ❤
Yes I think putting the cost in helps people just starting out and I think it helps trade people as well to make sure there not changing to much as well keep the videos coming mate 👍
good morning just to let you know i love your videos and thank you for them , Yes please, as it’s so very useful to have an idea just how much jobs cost these days. if others don't wont to know tell them to turn off when you talk about cost. please keep giving prices, thanks again for all your hard work...
As a keen DIY enthusiast I ended up doing my own renovation. I learnt never let the heating engineers relay the floor. I asked them to leave the floor up I could then clean and put the floor down as I wanted. I’m afraid I found all the flooring faults you found in my house too from previous heating jobs.
Just found you and subscribed. Few videos I've watched are very informative, helpful. Cracking jobs mate, like the way you have pride in the job and a great tidy up after finished. Top chippy!
You are very skilled. You made fitting those doors look easy, but it no doubt took years of experience to know how to do it and how to expertly use the tools when doing so. A joy to watch. Please DO go back to saying how much you charged. I have no idea how much carpentary jobs cost and I was often surprised when you said how much you charged, as it seemed too little. However at least I could form that view becasue you had said how much you had charged, so that added something to your videos. I don't know why some TH-camrs say you shouldn't say how much you charged - it's not their video, it's yours and your talking about how much you charged adds a nice footnote at the end of your videos, as we've just watched you doing the job and then you tell us how much you earned from the job. Thank you for your videos.
Well done brother. You mention, others may don't like token about job prices but I'm personally think that's good thing as helps others specially beginners how to price the jobs .I know that's depends on area you working. Thank you for your amazing videos.
Yes! Keep the price in there it would hv helped me so much when I started! The ppl who say that are not thinking of the ppl starting out in the trades! Thk u for doing that brother !
I think you should keep saying about how much things cost your probably the only one that does I find it helps me as I’m a chippy myself with my own business
Don't second guess yourself. You mention it would help you whenever you will be starting! So keep doing it as it make you unique some way. Keep it as you like I got it that you should listen to your audience but also remeber that people watching you because you showing something they want to watch! Keep it that way.
Been enjoying your video's mate. Yes to the pricing and yes to the small jobs, can lead to bigger jobs.Once you say no that's a customer you have lost for ever. Try the souber lock jig mate. Once you get use to it you won't look back fitting locks and larches.
Very good as always. Regarding how much you charge, I actually like that you tell us. Also, it may be good to let people know how quickly you are hanging doors. No two doors are the same of course and it’s not a competition but it would interesting. 👍🏾
As a fellow carpenter I’ve recently moved to England from ireland and starting to go self employed… any tips on how to get work … love these videos btw 😊😊
Keep going, let people know how much you charge, it’s good to know, I’m in a different area of England and rates vary, so it’s good to know what others charge…. Ignore the negative feedback.. prices will vary depending on location
Small jobs are the best , it shows the customer your skills while keeping it short and sweet while making good money , the bigger jobs will get give from smaller jobs when the customer sees good work they feel confident to give u bigger jobs
I’m back here to look at your prices for your jobs done, don’t stop showing people the real world prices. It’s good practice to let customers know true valve for a decent tradesman. Keep up the great work 🔨🔨
Good video and excellent work, how much you charge is very interesting , people need to weigh that up against keeping a van on the road and the huge cost of tools.
I would like to know how much you charge, thats the good bit at the end just to see. I think you should still include this as it's good to know what your area and London prices different. So please put back in at the end if videos
I like the videos where you break down what you earned for the day do you pay the labourer a set day rate or you give him a percentage of what you earned for the day
I enjoy you putting in how much you charge because I’m just about to start my own business and your other videos have helped me up to now so if you can keep doing it that would be sweet, I get other people don’t like that side of it but maybe a comment or a message would help loads, also what programme do you use to do your books?? I’ve heard quickbook is good and easy, keep the videos coming man
Wtf has been saying don’t mention pricing?? Love the videos pal. Just arrived here from Australia a year ago and it been helping me figure out how much to charge here in the UK. Keep up the good work bro.
Please include the costs, very useful. Let the apprentice go and work at Maccies. But then his life would be much worse. At that age you can’t tell them, but he will be so grateful for your guidance when he is older
Yes pls would be very useful to know how much charged for the job. I Defo don’t hate on ppl making money earning a decent living for good quality hard graft. Don’t undercharge either peace out
I would like to know how much you charge if you are happy to give it. I think it's very helpful to have an idea of charging for this sort of thing although it probably varies from area to area in the country. By the way that floor ply you fixed was shocking before. Isn't it supposed to finish on the floor joist? Do you know how old the house is and who built it? You could name and shame!
I find the smaller jobs are good if u can price them right because you can actually earn more money on them because a lot of time no one else wants to take them on so if they get a price and it’s not out of this work expensive they accept it.
Put your prices on for everyone’s benefit including yours Tyrol needs to give himself a shake, do you want to be a carpenter or not ?! And no it’s not easy! But it’s a good way to make money for life Two problems, his attitude, but that’s largely down to problem two YOUR attitude! You’re too nice mate! My apprenticeship was hell, back in the 80’s, I was crap admittedly, not particularly bright either but I never ever talked about thrown the towel, and I had real shit jobs to do and treatment these days they would be in jail for, beat and constant psychological abuse, like all day every day. I’d like to know price… and what I really like is the cleanliness of your jobs!! You’re really neat and tidy 😊
Keep sharing your prices mate I think it’s brilliant, helps me out as I’ve not long just started myself. Also transparency with clients, it’s healthy to talk about mone, what things are worth and it encourages a good relationship with finances.

I like seeing what you charge you definitively should keep doing it
You’re class mate. Really proud of you and your work brother 👊🏾
you can't tell them but a trade is for life

Hey bro you should do a video on how you find/ how you found work when you first went self employed
incoming
Your openness about your charges is at least half of the reason I watch you.
It puts perspective on the subject and the added benefit is that potential customers are price conditioned by it.
It is very healthy and refreshing to see the full picture.

The price at the end is the most valuable part of the video. For future clients and trades.

Helps with the climate at the moment 👍
I enjoy knowing how much is charged, its inspiring!
Very good as always.
Regarding how much you charge, I actually like that you tell us.
Also, it may be good to let people know how quickly you are hanging doors. No two doors are the same of course and it’s not a competition but it would interesting. 👍🏾
Definitely helps knowing how much to charge for each job
Always show your charges , it helps with your transparency with client's 👍

Revealing the price is a great part of your videos 👍

No keep your earnings private, be carefull what you share. keep up the good work and nice to see that you leave jobs tidy,
Definitely prefer when you tell us how much you earned per job and for the day!
Bro love your videos all the way from Sydney,Australia. Maybe do like a rough estimate on how much the job costed. Rather than the actual price.

Keep up the great work 🔨🔨
Good video and excellent work, how much you charge is very interesting , people need to weigh that up against keeping a van on the road and the huge cost of tools.
Definitely keep your charges in your videos. People will realise what the going rates are.
i think the people telling you to stop putting your price are charging too much 👀🤣
I would like to know how much you charge, thats the good bit at the end just to see. I think you should still include this as it's good to know what your area and London prices different. So please put back in at the end if videos
Please keep sharing the prices. Really useful information
Trade is for life and you won’t be out of work
I like the videos where you break down what you earned for the day do you pay the labourer a set day rate or you give him a percentage of what you earned for the day
Keep costs in it’s really helpful
Just wanted to ask a question been watching some of your videos and just wanted to ask if u work in the Manchester/denton area?
I enjoy you putting in how much you charge because I’m just about to start my own business and your other videos have helped me up to now so if you can keep doing it that would be sweet, I get other people don’t like that side of it but maybe a comment or a message would help loads, also what programme do you use to do your books?? I’ve heard quickbook is good and easy, keep the videos coming man
Yes bro'
Keep telling us how much you charge.
It's very helpfull
Wtf has been saying don’t mention pricing?? Love the videos pal. Just arrived here from Australia a year ago and it been helping me figure out how much to charge here in the UK. Keep up the good work bro.
It's honesty and what ou think your times worth
Tell him to MAN. UP.
Don’t undercharge either peace out
I’m 15 and want to be a joiner carpenter but don’t know how I could use some tips on how I can become one
I will make a video on this but the short answer is getting an apprenticeship is the best and easiest way to become a carpenter,
I would like to know how much you charge if you are happy to give it. I think it's very helpful to have an idea of charging for this sort of thing although it probably varies from area to area in the country. By the way that floor ply you fixed was shocking before. Isn't it supposed to finish on the floor joist? Do you know how old the house is and who built it? You could name and shame!
hi whats the work bench that you use great videos keep them coming i like the fact that you tell the price a*
Hello, yes i really want to know how much you charge. It's really helpfull to know that, especially for some begginers like us :)
I always find it interesting how much you get paid for your work. If you’re happy to let us know, please carry on.
I find the smaller jobs are good if u can price them right because you can actually earn more money on them because a lot of time no one else wants to take them on so if they get a price and it’s not out of this work expensive they accept it.
Just have a section at the end where you tell people and warn those who don't want to know that they can skip it if they want.
Put your prices on for everyone’s benefit including yours
Tyrol needs to give himself a shake, do you want to be a carpenter or not ?! And no it’s not easy! But it’s a good way to make money for life
Two problems, his attitude, but that’s largely down to problem two YOUR attitude!
You’re too nice mate! Far to ‘giving and caring’ and here’s the thanks your getting for it.
My apprenticeship was hell, back in the 80’s, I was crap admittedly, not particularly bright either but I never ever talked about thrown the towel, and I had real shit jobs to do and treatment these days they would be in jail for, beat and constant psychological abuse, like all day every day. No one Ever did ANYTHING nice for me ever!
You might be better letting him go, I’m not sure now you could ‘treat him mean to keep him keen’
Let him take whatever shit job he said he’d be ‘happier doing’ or for Carpentry let him work for some absolute arseholes that show him nothing and treat him bad, let that be his teacher.
Remember this because however counterintuitive it is, it is 100 percent true!
‘The nicer you are to someone, the worse they treat you’
He will always be able to fall back on…..oh nothing!
So wake up son! You’ve got a great opportunity
I only subscribed to the channel for information on what you charge
Great work im sorry but as an apprentice many years ago i worked my ass off, youres aint interested he would have to go!!!

I am really interested in learning this job. Are there online courses? I wanna learn & move to the UK
It’s a trade so you will have to either get an apprenticeship or study level 1 or 2 carpentry (depends what your gcse maths and English is ) either way you will need to attend a college once a week while the other days you would do practical training I hope this helps
I’m keen to know how much you charge, Thank you.
