    I (TME) had a great experience! It must have been great to learn the full decarb procedure from my third engineer. He explained me each and every part and its uses .The tips we picked up that might be useful for future maintenance.

    Why haven’t you taken out the liners along with piston to clean the jacket spaces and change their o rings.?? Is it not necessary to take out liners as well.??

    • @sealegend1627
      @sealegend1627  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's a good question and I appreciate you come up with it...
      If at all the jacket cooling water temperatures are within range as per makers guidelines....it's not need to remove the liners...
      Hence proper chemical dosing and weekly testing for JCW is necessary...

    • @Sahas4456
      @Sahas4456 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@sealegend1627 After all these years I haven’t seen a single ship with optimum jcw parameters.. so i always prefer to take the liners out.. because there will be mud and scale accumulation between the spaces

    I have a question: is there a exhaust recirculation system on this engine/ EGR?

    • @sealegend1627
      @sealegend1627  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey hello.....your query is very interesting....there is no EGR system on generator engines as the exhaust qty is too low also the exhaust gases drive the turbocharger which in turn provides additional air to the engine...if the exhaust gases are recirculated, that will affect turbocharger performance further affecting the air fuel ratio...

      Good query...
      As have mentioned in the video,you always need to make punch marking on the valves prior you proceed with dismantling job...
      That avoids any confusion while boxing back..
