I am new in GOW. God of war 2018 was included in my PlayStation subscription So, i thought i should give it a try. This game is really amazing. Usually i only play open world games. After playing this. I realised their are many other genres games that are amazing.
Both games are good. I think the older one had better color wish the new one was as rich in color as the previous game. I also understand technical issues may be the reasons for the change.
whatttt the new game has wayyyy more color than the original game. in fact one of my issues with the original game is that it didn’t have enough color variety
These examples only look less vibrant because of the dark theme they went with for fimbulwinter taking hold in Midgard. Other parts of the game are extremely vibrant and full of colour. They made sections darker and duller on purpose, and it makes sense! Very immersive too.
GOW Ragnarok particles and special effects are higher quality and more realistic, which makes them feel a little bit more tone down than 2018, you can see that with the blades. Looks amazing on both games, it's honestly surprising how good 2018 looks even almost 7 years later.
Oh, there's loads more to come and so much potential! I can see them making alternating games every 2 to 4 years for a while with Kratos in one then Atreus the next and so on until they are ready to wrap up Kratos' story and have Atreus take the lead permanently.
There wasn’t much graphics improvements, just felt like more fluid and smoother experience but overall the game is better and a lot more content and all the realms felt more alive
Only difference I see is just the weapons on 2018 is a bit more graphical than ragnarok, in terms of how much particles/lighting it gives out. Other than that, both are great! Really seems irrelevant to do a comparison on the 2. Almost like a stalemate comparison if u will lol

The first. I recently went back and played it to get my platinum trophy and it's definitely superior when it comes to gameplay.
Ragnaroks overall downgraded combat is one of the reasons why I probably won’t ever pick it back up. It isn’t fun anymore.
The golden axe looks so cool, why isn’t it same in ragnarok?😢
It is it’s just whoever is playing hasn’t fully upgraded it yet
That's the remaster of the 2018 that was released in January this year for PC, so that makes sense that the quality of both games are close
Definitely 2018 grapics...
I think the graphics are amazing in both games. However, the map, skill, menu interface is better in god of war 2018 and control interface as well.
Minor graphical improvements but much more stable performance. The performance mode is pretty much locked at 60fps in Ragnarok(PS5).
i played the entire game with 120fps in 4k.
Gow 2018: Visual Effects and textures
Gow Ragnarok: Details and Filtering
fighting effects and snow was better in GOW2018
& particle effects
Bullshit
Splitting hairs hey.
Goes to show how flipping good 2018 is.
I am new in GOW.
God of war 2018 was included in my PlayStation subscription
So, i thought i should give it a try.
This game is really amazing.
Usually i only play open world games.
After playing this. I realised their are many other genres games that are amazing.
4:10 when cratos gets older
Atreus: - what is that.
mini-Atreus: - it is World Serpent
Both games are good. I think the older one had better color wish the new one was as rich in color as the previous game. I also understand technical issues may be the reasons for the change.
whatttt the new game has wayyyy more color than the original game. in fact one of my issues with the original game is that it didn’t have enough color variety
@@jlyon7065 yeah for real lol just look at Vanahiem. It's full of vibrant colors. Same with Jotunhiem and Svartlehiem
I’m just kind of mad at how it ended but it felt like there is going to be another one.
Ending was underwhelming tbh
They're not gonna stop milking the chiken with the golden eggs. Ragnarok was the fastest selling Playstation game
Yess, the atmosphere is different, it's alive, you don't get that empty feeling in silent moments.
Only difference I see is just the weapons on 2018 is a bit more graphical than ragnarok, in terms of how much particles/lighting it gives out. Other than that, both are great! Really seems irrelevant to do a comparison on the 2. Almost like a stalemate comparison if u will lol
I'm only realizing now, that the world serpent doesn't have a parted snake tongue...
Looking at @7:00. No wonder I feel swinging Blades of Chaos was too light in Ragnarok, compared to 2018. In Ragnarok there’s no “weight” on it… but in 2018 I can “feel” their impact.
Maybe kratos just got stronger
@@rickshawhaytham3279 he gets stronger as he ages so makes sense
They did a great work both in 2k18 and 2k20
I like the game a lot
2018 have more details to its environment and gameplay wise.
Which one available for pc is the best 😈
Tbh GOW Ragnarok is a nice DLC of GOW 2018
dlc??? ragnarok expanded SO much it’s well worthy to get the title of a sequel
@@jlyon7065 lmao, its the same gow 2018 game but with better grafics and better history. I said it, its a BIG nice DLC
@@javiermescuaguerrero not really besides its literally a sequel did u expect a revolutionary leap? 🤦🏻♂️
@@javiermescuaguerrero and better combat and better dialogue and better voice acting and better stories and better setpieces and better exploration. should i go on? it’s much more than a dlc
@@javiermescuaguerrero the game has literallt expanded on everything the first game did and made everything bigger and better. it literally has some of the best side missions since the witcher 3
I played Rag. First and am currently into PS4 GOW. I like the fight animations in PS4 GOW better. But one thing left out here is the in game menu systems and weapon/armor builds. And the world travel. Much better in RAG. Haven’t played Valhalla yet.
Geez look how young Atreus is... He really was a child in the first game.
He was a BOI
@@IliterateFooBoar*
I think the snow effects actually looked better "before 😭😭🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Both are a Masterpiece. Truly masterpiece art of a game.
I noticed that the details of the snow, the water, the character's clothing and Kratos' wrinkles, they look better in the previous game
but outside of that god of war ragnarok is superior without a doubt
Ragnarök is the better game imo
God of war 2018 hands down.... 2018 has more saturation, hue, contrast and brightness. The most important for me would be brightness. As not many of us are having a high end monitor or TV. Its much easier to see in a bright environment. Ofcourse there is improvement in physics, environment, structure, etc. but still playing in a dark environment of 2022 game would make me sleep and boring as I would not enjoy exploring the environment. I played all of the god of war games previously and I loved exploring the environment, hidden places, etc. Its fun to explore.
It looks more like a DLC rather than a new gen game
I feel like the heat wave distortions when using the blades in the first game are way better than Ragnarok
The biggest different between the two is the cutting power of the axe vs the trees
The first comparison is the snow physics, it looks better GOW 2018😂
No way lol
Who cares about the graphics, what matters is the story, 1080, 4K or HDR, it doesn't matter, the best thing is to enjoy the game and see all its history
Side quests ,exploration , mechanics, difficulties are much better this time and
Nd the axe animation too
that mini-Atreus voice is one of the most unique things in GOW 2018
