    As a black man I say this without hesitation: the biggest issue in black America is rearing children outside the confinement of marriage. It is vitally important for children to be reared by BOTH mother and father in the home. Male children need a masculine figure to teach them how to be a man, and female children need a father figure so they will know what to look for in a man. Studies have shown that the overwhelming majority of the prison population and high school drop outs, regardless of ethnicity, come from single parent homes.
    In other ethnic groups like east Asian Americans, they almost always rear their children in a dual parent household and they pull all their resources to make their children to excel academically which opens doors for them to be productive members in society. And that is part of the reason why Asian Americans are doing so well economically. Black Americans can take a cue from them. But I never heard someone like Al Sharpton or "Rev" Jesse Jackson address the single parent issue.
    And I don't believe there is any systemic racism hindering the social upward mobility of African Americans. If Nigerian Americans could become the most academically successful group in America then it proves it is not so much about skin color but culture. www.google.com/amp/s/www.chron.com/news/amp/Data-show-Nigerians-the-most-educated-in-the-U-S-1600808.php Mind you, Nigeria is a messed up country that has worst infrastructure than perhaps any hood in America, yet they come here to work hard and reap the rewards of their hard work.
    Not to say racism is non existent. There is strong evidence there is racism in the criminal "justice" system.
    For instance, Black men who commit the same crimes as white men receive federal prison sentences that are, on average, nearly 20 percent longer, according to a new report on sentencing disparities from the United States Sentencing Commission (USSC).
    These disparities were observed “after controlling for a wide variety of sentencing factors,” including age, education, citizenship, weapon possession and prior criminal history. www.google.com/amp/s/www.washingtonpost.com/amphtml/news/wonk/wp/2017/11/16/black-men-sentenced-to-more-time-for-committing-the-exact-same-crime-as-a-white-person-study-finds/
    Black People More Likely to Be Wrongfully Convicted of Murder, Study Shows
    www.nytimes.com/2017/03/07/us/wrongful-convictions-race-exoneration.html
    Of the 8.2 million marijuana arrests between 2001 and 2010, 88% were for simply having marijuana. Nationwide, the arrest data revealed one consistent trend: significant racial bias. Despite roughly equal usage rates, Blacks are 3.73 times more likely than whites to be arrested for marijuana. www.aclu.org/gallery/marijuana-arrests-numbers

      Blame the War on Drugs and the impact of Mass Incarceration for destroying the black family. It's not an excuse but the shit was planned and now so many young Black men are anti-marriage. But this whole American ship is sinking an I don't really give a fluck. I hope Trump get's re-elected so he can bring this whole shit down fuck it.

    • @kyndracrump
      @kyndracrump 6 ปีที่แล้ว +38

      Everything you stated was true, but I will say this, it's important to know the man before you have children. Because you can have a father in the household, but if that man doesn't add value to the household, you might as well be a single parent.

    This dude can’t be from Atlanta. I know it was over 30 projects in Atlanta. I remember Bankhead Courts, Hollywood courts, Perry homes, etheridge, Hollywood ridge, Bowen homes, McDaniel Glen, Herndon homes, Rescue villa, Cosby Spears, Grady homes, John hope homes, John Eagan homes, Harris homes, Eastlake meadows, capital homes, Jonesboro north and south, englewood manor, Thomasville heights, pool creek, techwood, Clark Howell homes, Antoine homes, Edgewood Courts, forest grove, 4 seasons. That’s 30 I named and it was more than that Atlanta was dangerous back then. A lot of murders on Moreland ave. The pounce city market use to be housing projects. Krog street was dangerous and mechanicsville was too, Bankhead, mlk, cascade and cambellton is still bad. Eastpoint and Cleveland ave was off the chain. On staton and delowe in Eastpoint was always drive bys. South Atlanta and Decatur was the wild Wild West

    I was born on English Avenue right in this very same neighborhood and attended English Avenue Primary and Elementary. I also attended the Boys and Girls Club located on Bankhead or what is now known as Donald Lee Howell. As a child, this area looked nothing like this. It was a lot cleaner and there were a lot of peach, pecan and plum trees all around, but this was almost 30 years ago. There were a lot of older families in the area that kept the neighborhood up and had pride in the community. We moved away to the "middle class" part of the Westside when I was 10 but I still attended school and summer camp in this area until middle school. Even Martin Luther King and his family resided right on Sunset, which is across the street "literally" from this area. The sad part is as the older generation died out, the younger generation took over and just didn't have the same respect or upkeep their predecessors had. Also, as the city began to tear down all of the nearby housing communities and no longer allowed any of the drug dealers to live there once they rebuilt all of them migrated to areas closer to downtown. What he doesn't show is that the Mercedes Benz stadium is in walking distance from here. Also, the bluff is NW. It is still considered part of the Westside. The funny part about all of this is that you have drug infested areas like this but they are building million dollar condos not even a 5 minute ride away. Also this area is approximately 5 minutes from downtown Atlanta, Georgia Aquarium, Centennial Park and other major attractions

      The older generation are the same people who raised these shitty kids they couldn’t afford in a shitty environment with poor morals. Your parent did right by getting themselves financially situated and then moving you and your siblings to a more middle class area. This should be the M.O for every single struggling black families in America.

    The Bluff is actually in the English Avenue neighborhood. The boarders are Bankhead hwy (Donald Lee Hollowell) to the north, Northside drive to the East, Simpson Rd (Joseph E Boone) to the south and Ashby (Joseph E Lowery) to the West. After Ashby starts the Bankhead neighborhood. The 900 block - 1300 block Simpson Rd and back to Bankhead. The area doesn't look nearly as bad as it did 15yrs ago. That interview looks like it was in the area of the southern border of Washington Park.

    I was born and raised in the hood but the hood didn’t affect my era of young people. We all work hard and have not lived in the hood for years. Thank God!!! 🙌🏾🙏🏾 I’m not afraid of the hood but I don’t want to dwell in the hood if I can’t make it a better place to live for my people. I pray for healing in the hoods all over. I know what it’s like being a victim of your circumstance an nothing you can do about it because you are a child. Society and government has failed the inner city and lower income people. This whole poverty and violence was meant to keep blacks down! 🙏🏾

    This area is the hood but it's very mixed. Lots of blacks but plenty of whites too. It's being gentrified. It's right around the corner from the Mercedes-Benz stadium. A million, maybe billion dollar building. The AU center (Morehouse, Spelman, and Clark Atl) are near by. There are chapter schools and little free libraries. Come back in 5 years and you'll definitely see a different hood.

Crime does happen here don’t get me wrong but it’s not like Bankhead or the Bluff.

    I'm white I was visiting my older wife friend and his wife, the only whites for miles around colombia and memorial when a black man came up the driveway asking for any menial yard work for a sandwich. He said he hadn't eaten in a few days. Shit I had breakfast and by noon I was starving for lunch. I told him if he met me in McDonalds down at memorial and chatted with me I'd buy him a meal. His name was james. He was paroled after 14 years for armed robbery. He told me he cant find honest work and he is not going back to prison so he will just starve or keep trying honest work. I talked to him about having roughly 3 weeks work at my house. He would have to stay outside in the day and shit in a bucket but I would feed him and pay him. Worst mistake of my life. Well worst mistake I Made that week. Laziest damn fawkr I ever met. I was outside to work with him. He wouldn't life a finger. Had to take him straight back to the dec. And drop his ass back off in the street.

    ... We can always tell who is NOT from Atlanta or not from certain areas... The very corner of MLK and Joseph E. Lowery that you are standing on in this video is a very Central point of town... Needless to say the entire "ASHBY" area was once the pride of Black Atlanta... Up and down those streets were and still are many Black owned Businesses (of which this vlogger did not even focus on at all)... Now he did drive through the Bluff (which is one of the heaviest drug areas of ATL)... However, once you come of the back streets and turn back on Joseph E. that is NOT the Bluff... The Bluff is very specific to about an 8-10 block area...
    I could tell this young guy had no clue because he couldn't even tell you where he was... I had the occassion of staying on a street (Harwell St) that is right in back of the gas station you are standing in... Harwell, Lena, etc streets are pretty chill with no real big occurrence other than your redundant drug user (heroin attics) that reside in abandoned houses... The worst you'll see is an occasional "red Dog" unit raid where they are searching for a dangerous suspect or one of the abandoned houses being burned to the ground due to people smoking in the houses or faulty wiring... I used to Manage a great deal of rooming houses in the Ashby, Bluff, and Vine City areas... All of these areas are small (only a few blocks) and all have separate characteristics....
    As you could see when you drove through the Bluff you didn't even see very many people during the day... That is because the turnup is at night... I used to say the "Zombies" come out at night... In order for you to commentate on the area you would have to know the area and know the area people... You didn't even scratch the surface with this vlog...

      Jimmy Poe You stayed in all the worst areas... Per the police records and ga statistics James P. Brawley is still "the worst" crimed infested and drugged streets in the entire state o Georgia... I'm surprised you lived in Clayton County as most Black men who are from somewhere else other than Clayton County would never move there...
      Yes, I had brief dealings with Rev. James... Fortunately, I was smart enough to not fall for the rooming house module that he played... One of my houses that I managed was of interest to him so he tried to take it from me... He was so mad that I figured his game out and he went away mad... I had no tolerance to overload houses with putting 20 men in a house and charging them $500 a month each and treating them like children...
      Vine City is exactly the same and so is the Bluff...

    • @keitahentleigh7489
      @keitahentleigh7489 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jimmy Poe .... Wonderful to hear that your experience was good... Many of my old tenants told me the same... When people care it really does make a difference... I went out of my way to make sure I provided extra things for my tenants like big breakfast on Saturday and Sunday, free washing machines and dryers, holiday giftcards to movies/ restaurants in the area, and I helped people find jobs in the case they should lose their jobs...
      The Georgia Dome has been replaced with an bigger modern state of the art $billion dollar Mercedes Benz Stadium for the Falcons... We also have a new SunTrust Stadium built in Cobb County for the Braves... Be well! #goodconvo

Plus the city has been granted 💰 to build a park large, if not larger than Centennial park 5 or 6 blocks to left of the guy being interviewed. I question before moving to the area but I know more changes are coming. Love Atlanta as it is growing.

      @keitahentleigh7489 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@stephaniefloyd4741 Good luck... You will need it... They have been bringing new things to the area for 20 years... You will see what I mean in the years to come if you can stand it beyond a year... BTW, there is already a lovely park 3 blocks from where they are standing ( on Lena Street).... It sits right next to the Natatorium they built 9 years ago when they began marketing the area to people like yourself who believe what they are telling you... Also, btw the reason it's a Walmart there instead of what it was originally built as, a Publix, is because the area did not change... Walmart won't be there long... I know you want to believe you will have no problems in that area but you should really listen to those who know... However, if you do drugs or are comfortable in crime areas with a lot of dirt going on around you then you'll love... Again, good luck to you...

    That kid in the interview is not going to last much longer. You can see he is tense because someone is probably after him. He's looking out for a drive-by shooting. I feel bad for him. He seems to have some sense in him and underneath he seems nice - and not badly dressed - but in that neighborhood, he is in danger as many are. It is too bad that his percentage of getting hit is quite high there.

    • @WallTrapMedia
      @WallTrapMedia 6 ปีที่แล้ว +27

      Man, you're full of shit.lol. He's probably tense because he's not used to random ass people filming him at night and on camera in the middle of the hood. Get the fuck outta here with the negative stereotyping and fuck off on some other channel. Charlie makes vids to show you a part of America most people don't give a fuck about and you bitches can't do anything but come on his channel with the negative/ racist/ stereotypical views. It's disgusting. Instead of commenting or judging why don't you go down there and help with your privileged ass? And that area has seen a downward spike in crime. It's mostly a bunch of washed up crackheads walking around looking to get a fix, not niggas with AK's doing drive-bys on random pedestrians. You're HORRIBLE at reading non-verbals but very good at being an asshole.

      The entrenched bureaucracies and bureaucrats are at war with populism because they are vested in a globalist model that makes the US part of a multinational legal body, that is appointed (technocrats), like the EU. Trump is a mild reformer, at most, but is painted as a radical as a tactic of information war and character assassination is their main weapon. See Yuri Bezmenov interviews for a background in Soviet (not Russian of today) political warfare. Putin is seen as an enemy because he knows the Soviet style tactics and can see right through them. He was a master at them, and ended up largely rejecting them because they impoverished his country. He's no angel a all, but compared to the Rosensteins and Muellers , he's obviously the good guy to any objective onlooker. He knows them better than our own bureaucratic idiots do, and they know that if Trump can actually talk to this guy he's going to clue Trump in on what is really gong on (if he's not already aware) and assist him in taking them down the same way he (Putin) took them down in Russia. They don't want to make America great again, or even great at all. This 'deep state' bureaucratic leviathan wants America to be parasitized by global second or even third world model bureaucracy. They are infinitely scared of nationalism, of any sort, in the European world or diaspora. Bureaucracies are parasites. They don't produce , they don't understand markets, and they absolutely hate sovereignty and autonomy, because sovereign agents don't need them very much. The last thing they want is for the people of a country to realize their bureaucracies are overgrown and demand them to be downsized.

      Omar Milton im not from America so this doesnt necessarily apply to me. Have you heard of red lining? The ghettos were setup. Up until the 60s blacks in America could only live in certain areas in most the us and those were ran down areas. Most blacks had no accumulated wealth because a lack of opportunity just in recent times a minority of those have been able to make it out. Red lining was legal and a well known practice

    The city keeps these areas run down until they get there investors to invest at a low rate.. They will buy the land then wait or sit on until price drop further then start yo built.. Mortage goes up and that forces the people to sell there house dirty cheap and make good profit with 5 or 10 but people will relocated farther away..
