I have 13 beautiful Muskovi ducks, they are my flock, my family, my friends ❤️ better than most people! Individuals, each one is different from the other one in their own ways. And I've got to make a correction here. THEY DO HAVE NERVES IN THEIR LEGS! It's that they have a circulation difference that doubles back to keep the blood warm in thier feet. Also, they double breathe. I looked it all up. Too much misinformation out there. Just wanted to set the record straight. And as for "Animal facts" they are NOT WARTS! They're caruncles. Soft. Like your lips. NOT WARTS! I'm sooo offended 😒 on this one! 😤
We picked up 5 abandoned ducklings last year and as they grew and changed color we realized they were Muscovys. They are so friendly and cute! We have a flock of sheep and are surrounded by cattle grazing land and one thing we have noticed is the Muscovys take care of the fly population. They eat the same feed as our chickens and all get along fine. We were worried they wouldn't stick around as we live in drylands but they are happy with our tiny pond after it does rain and the kid pools we put out for them. They are so sweet and animated! I'm glad they came to us.
My aunt and uncle have one of these that hangs around their pond, and I can tell you these guys don't seem to care about anything. I was coming home from work one afternoon, and the duck was just standing in the middle of the road, so I stopped my car hoping it would get the message. Nope, it took that duck a good couple of minutes before he simply meandered off the road. It was looking me dead in the eyes the entire time, like 'I'll move when I'm good and ready, thank you very much!'
I once encountered an all-white feral Muscovy at a small city park here in CT. I've read that this duck has a long history with the Mayan people dating back to ancient times.
I love ducks, I volunteer at a farm with a around 20 or so. We use ducks to passively fertilize the soil with there droppings. They are great for keeping certain insect populations balanced acting as a predator on the farm and they absolutely shred slugs to keep them from eating the mushrooms we grow. There eggs are great too. We have two Chinese geese to protect them but recently a red tail hawk has learned that they are all bark and no bite. Anyway enough rambling, the point is I like ducks.
I absolutely love ducks too! I worked at a place with 2 ponds. And one day a Muscovy duck climbed up on the opposite side of the picnic table I was eating lunch at. He sat with me the whole lunch break. It did help that I shared my lunch with him. I used to have pics. Don't know if I still do. That is one of my favorite memories!
I used to keep and breed these! Mine were so friendly, but sometimes they would wander down my neighborhood street to steal feed from my neighbour’s bird feeder. I would pick up my male Cas, and carry him home and his three girls would follow behind us in a line.
I’ve kept many Muscovy ducks. The males can battle each other pretty aggressively. However overall they are peaceful. Females make very good mothers. My favorite species of duck I’ve kept. Very cold hardy.
Why are people shooting them in Fla , the ducks were sitting under a bridge and a boater shot them with I think a pellet gun and a bird dog retrieved them ,the boaters said ducks are a nuisance
@@duanemartin2280 Maybe they're invasive in that area, and invasive muscovy ducks can be a big problem, but where I saw them they were native and did not cause any sort of imbalance
I don't know if I told you two that I live on the west coast of Florida. We have tons of Muscovys. They don't need water. At this one trailer park near us, there are probably 50 in total. No water in sight. They are NOT afraid of people or cars. So driving is perilous. You have to get out and shoo them out of the way. They definitely depend on the residents who spoil them with food and treats. I have seen a lot near water sources however. They are always super friendly though. If you have food, a Muscovy is you bff! Well even if you don't have food, they are curious to see what you have to offer them. 😂
We have a couple who live peacefully on our little lak. They are named Mo (mohawk for short because she has a thin black line on top of her head) & Ryan (for Ryan Reynolds of the movie Deadpool & his red, facemask looks exactly the same). They get along great with the Black-Bellied Whistling Ducks, Squirrels, Mallards & all the little birds. We supplement their food with high-quality protein seed/fruit/nut blend & a handfull of mealworms (freeze dried) & two bowls of fresh water that they use for drinking & preening. They come running, wag their tails & make sweet sounds. We enjoyed this video! ❤❤
That's an excellent suggestion! We'll get that on the list. In the meantime, you can check out our dugong episode if you're interested: th-cam.com/video/OERdcjlY-qg/w-d-xo.html
Are ducks not the perfect earth lifeforms? They can swim, fly and walk, they also are omnivores do they can switch between grass and small bits of meat.
You can't really call a Muscovy's hiss a hiss. It sounds more like a Steam Engine noise to be completely honest. Male muscovies and egyptian geese are steam engines. My muscovy had a strange fetish towards egyptian geese once and attempted raping a female but she escaped, thankfully egyptian geese are frequent flyers, Lord Timothy(my muscovy ducks's name) ain't getting any female egyptian goose bums!!!
I truly love these beautiful birds, I hope they take over your whole shitty world. We are all invasive, its one world, one stupid little ball of turds and water and dirt, let them live, they may just save your miserable life when the world breaks and store are no mores.

Yes! They've always had a "I'll do what I want" attitude from my experience, as well!

Oh wow that's so cool!

Love this image! 😹
I think I saw one of these ducks near a lake and some of them were in someone's driveway walking next to the cars.
They're pretty neat to see!

I saw these ducks in their wild form last month. The males are gigantic, almost double the size of females
Wow that's an awesome sighting!

Yes! I remember seeing them around ponds in Florida all the time! Sounds like quite the flock you see!!
@@AnimalFactFiles Yeah it's a spectacle I tell ya! Lol More like a zoo of ducks!

Growing up in Florida we called them Turducks 😂😂😂
Domestic muscovy can actually live for 20 years. Also male muscovies csn weigh around 6-8 kg and female can weigh around 3-5kg
Fair point! We try to keep things based around the wild animals here ;)
Finally! Some Domesticated Animals being appreciated 😭
The fascinating natural world! A mine of knowledge.🤠👌
Thanks for watching! ❤️
Love your videos
Thanks so much!
oh wow, so that's the name of the duck thats been lonely at the pond near my house past year, think he finally migrated recently though !
Glad you learned his name!
Nice
If their nest's are in tree cavities 10 to sixty feet above the ground, how do the ducklings get down before they have feathers?
They jump! Similar to wood ducks 😸
cute!
There is a flock of these breeding in the swamp behind my house they are big, most of them are white so I guess they are feral.
I'm in south carolina
Yes they are surprisingly big!
Can you do fact files on hartebeests?
Can you do fact files on elk?
Do manatees next

greetings from Indonesia
Thanks for watching!
They’re water fowl. Not ducks
My muscovy ducks are in Britain, they're so cute and sadly, the males are aggressive to each other
Dare I call this video a bunch of quacks?
😹🦆
In a survival situation, these ducks are easy to catch and very tasty. Including the eggs.
Make a vídeo about the musk ox
Great suggestion! We'll add that to our list! Thank you!
Why Don't Muscovy ducks migrate is it true that the oldest domesticated Muscovy duck was kept by native people in Peru?
They don’t migrate because the habitats they live in are relatively regular and males are also quite heavy, domestic males can’t even fly!
I have one muscovy duck and I love him so much her name is daisy i thought he was a girl when he was a baby but not hehe 😊
Assalamu'alaikum
