I have owned this lens three times over a period of 9 yrs or so...Never had a sharpness problem...even now with an original A7s (12 mpx) it performs superbly...
You tell us a few times the lens is not so sharp I wanna upgrade my 24-240mm to this 70-200mm. Will it be a good investment for taking better quallity pictures ??? my body is a Sony Alpha 7iii. Thanks in advance, We really do appreciate the work you put in creating this kind of video.
this lens is surely better and sharper than 24-240mm,but it is already out of time as well(it is said that 70-200 G was originally designed for sony a-mount cameras, instead of e-mount)So if u don't have that much money to buy a 70-200 GM,70-200G would be a proper choice. But if u could invest more money in it to get a GM,that would be even better
Hello how are you I like your video I was looking for information about this, I wanted to know many say that this lens is not very sharp and I don't know how it goes for portraits to get definition and sharpness in the face because the new model escapes a little price and I don't know if there is so much difference in definition
Does it change aperature before it locks focus? I bought a used one to use with my a7iii, the aperature slightly enlarges when it is focusing then goes back to whatever it is set to (just visually nit the f number), and when i'm changing aperature the live display brightens or darkens a little bit, feels like a quick flicker , is that normal? If not i will return it, thanks :)
You must of gotten a bad model cuz my 70-200 is razor sharp. I had the 2.8 and sold it too heavy. They about same in sharpness. Definitely u got bad model.
It's not worth it. A very bad lens with a noticeable loss of sharpness at the edges has also gone out of production. I hope Sony makes a better version. I've been waiting for years ;-)
Then most probably you have received the bad copy of it. Its not necessary if your experience wasn’t upto the mark from the usage of the lens doesn’t means the lens is bad. I got the same lens and have delivered best of the best pictures in my projects.
yeah i think sony should make a 70-200 G II.GMs are designed for pros, which makes them heavy and expensive. For we amateurs,G lens are obviously more appropriate.
@@AAVISION i mean look at the price diffrence and look at how old it is. there must be a reason why it costs so much aint why there is a newer one ;) the 70-200 f4 is a still a fantastic lens in my opinion and its really sharp
