+Micah Buzan seeing the very new shit today from Thom in Paris I actually began liking King of Limbs, In Bloom, is slowed down when he does it by itself and I finally got the rhythm down. Now I'm working on Atoms for Peace...I was stuck on all their old stuff for 12 years, I feel so relieved now that I can feel Thom's chaos and new style.
+Holynutt TKOL is brilliant just like everything they've done since 2000. It has some of their best songs. Bloom, Little By Little, Feral, Lotus Flower, Codex, Separator, it's all great
You don't need to be on "weird drugs" to like "this stuff". This "stuff" is brilliant music. When you listen to Thom's music, you instantly float inside it becoming mesmerized in it's beauty.
Loved this. my first time hearing it, a mysterious, ethereal feel. Teo has such a unique voice, and knows to use it. the bass just drives this, it's wonderful
This song started from my iTunes library by itself while watching Twin Peaks: The Return last episode. When Agent Cooper arrived in Odessa, while entering Judy's cafè and Cooper help the waitress from the douchebags. I thought it was from the soundtrack. It matched perfectly. Thank you for this beautiful song.
I'm so glad that I know about Atoms now. I haven't been very good about following Radiohead lately and lamely enough, I didn't even realized this was Thom's new band. Whooh!
Pyramid Song is in a looping pattern of 6 bars (with various time signatures), in this order 3/4, 2/4, 3/4, 3/4, 2/4, 3/4. The piano is playing 2 dotted quarter notes in every 3/4 bar and one whole note in every 2/4 bar. Yes, if you add all those up, you get 16/4, which is 4 4/4 bars, but this is the way I counted it out.
Have you consider that this IS Flea but evolving? I saw them live and trust me... he is VERY MUCH a part of it all and seemed to be loving playing with these guys...
[Verse 1] Don’t worry, baby It goes right through me I’m like the wind and my anger will disperse Thin persecutors Thin twisted vespers A haunted reptile that has crawled upon the earth [Hook] I went for my usual walk I tell it like it is Tell it like it was Judge and jury, executioner Judge and jury, executioner Judge and jury [Verse 2] And darkness follows No tomorrows It’s all been decided All spiced and scented All bouncing voices down the echo chamber If you come to me tonight I'll be yours for good [Hook] I went for my usual walk I went around the block I just can’t talk or reason with my executioner Judge and jury, executioner Judge and jury [Bridge] Thin waist betrayers Who talk in layers [Hook] I went for my usual walk I tell it like it is Tell it like it was Judge and jury, executioner Judge and jury, executioner Judge and jury [Outro] Don’t worry, baby It goes right through me I’m like the wind and my anger will disperse
A timeless masterpiece. Britain does this sound so well. Love Atoms For Peace and other darker soulful sounds from UK acts like Massive Attack, Portishead, Unkle, Tricky, Allflaws
What does everyone like more: "Judge Jury and Executioner" or "Default"? Of course you have to hear the songs within the context of the album. I like this song because it sounds like there's more input from the other members, but I really hope the other songs sound less like a Thom Yorke solo album.
Actually, the full lineup is as follows: Thom Yorke - Radiohead Nigel Godrich - Radiohead, Ultraísta Flea - RHCP Joey Waronker - R.E.M., Beck, Ultraísta Mauro Refosco - Forro in the Dark
Wow amazing! This is what I love about Thom! He creates something Amazing and then his next album is something completely different. That takes guts He is constantly evolving as a musician. If most artists had albums as successful as OK computer they would still be trying to replicate that sound 15 years later to this day. If he didn't evolve his music we wouldn't have In rainbows and kidA or Amnesiac, So be open minded and you will realize how monumental this song is.
Amazing! I must confess everything from Thom/Radiohead since In Rainbows has been a struggle for me to appreciate...don't think I'm alone on that! This album is really proving to be a game changer...still very electronic, and still a little avant guarde-ish but this song for example is pulling in that jazzy baseline, then choral like harmonies and some acoustic guitar, the combo is definitely doing it for me.
This is really relaxing, and I like the tapping sound and claps. It creates a nice atmosphere with the soft background vocals and Thom's chilling voice.
dont listen to this with any expectations or preconcieved ideas of what the music will sound like based on the band members because this is a new band obviously trying to do something new and you know what its great stuff
i listen to classical music, jazz, folk, rock, electronic. i maintain there is nothing as interesting , innovative and yet still so simple as the music of thom yorke, atoms for peace and radiohead out there at the moment. just great
I went to see them last year, and it was a great show. I'd put it up there with anything I've ever been to, and I've seen my share of metal shows. If you like them you should go. There was plenty of everything.
Sweet---just heard this over the weekend on the local college station--catchy and snappy. Been into Radiohead for years, so I like this already---I know it's not them, but Yorke's side project. Funny how I couldn't rememebr the name of this tune, but I clicked right onto it---go figure.
Thom and Nigel explicitly refuted this concept in their BBC interview yesterday. The whole band were deliberately aiming for a sound that is very sparse, electronic, and solitary. It doesn't mean that it's not a full band effort with stellar performances from each of them.
yeah a little bit, mostly the spacial kinetic part of it like this video and color only sometimes. i definitely can see shapes in my head that correspond to the music i'm hearing, fractals and shit
Don't worry, baby It goes right through me I'm like the wind and my anger will disperseThin persecutors Your twisted whispers A horned reptile that is crawled upon the earthI went for my usual walk Just tell it like it is Tell it like it was Judge and jury, executioner Judge and jury, executioner Judge and juryWhen darkness follows And no tomorrowsIt's all been decided All spies deceptive All bouncing voices down the echo chamberDon't worry, baby It goes right through meI went for my usual walk I went around the block I just can't talk or reason with my executioner Judge and jury, executioner Judge and juryBeen wasting trails You talk in layersI went for my usual walk Didn't like this din't like it was Judge and jury, executioner Judge and jury, executioner Judge and juryDon't worry, baby It goes right through me I'm like the wind and my anger will disperse
They're not disbanding. They are, however, taking a break until September, at which time they will meet back in the studio to start their next album. At least that's what Colin said in a recent interview.
The evolution of Rhythm ladies and gentlemen, Thom Yorke will be the pioneer leading the fucking way into greatness. AMOK will be my album of the year for 2013 I've already fucking decided.
beautiful song, was expecting it to be a lot fuller. may enjoy it more after a few listens, just unexpected. love you thom yorke. stixxy you should really not even bother with the bs comments. hes fucking brilliant and he puts so much of himself into his music and the live performances are generally unbelievable and every single show is unique.
Yeah Flea is the bassist. The studio stuff seems mostly to be Thom Yorke and Nigel Godrich - like on 'The Eraser'. The rest of the band are mainly involved in translating this into something that can be played live.
Absolutely stoked you lads collaborated with such precision of choice in forming Atoms for Peace!! Yay thom!! Yay Nigel !! Yay flea!! Yay Joey !!! It was priceless to see these songs being created in 2010.
funkay ass time signature, clapping, subtle yet prominent bass, spindley guitar, topped with Thom haunting the world with his eerie vocal. Could it be more quintessentially Yorke? Cannot wait.
I saw them twice on this last tour and I definitely agree! Good for him and definitely a little contagious, I want to be as animated as he is all the time lol
It's Thom's brilliant, fragile, yet so powerful lace-glass voice...a magical journey for the soul...can't stop playing it
I hope they release another album. Amok has really grown on me.
+Micah Buzan After the new Radiohead album of course :3I kind of preferred Amok to King of Limbs though to be honest.
Dude you are awesome
+Robin Powell Yeah, I hope the next Radiohead album is super good. The King of Limbs was alright, but they've made so much better.
+Micah Buzan seeing the very new shit today from Thom in Paris I actually began liking King of Limbs, In Bloom, is slowed down when he does it by itself and I finally got the rhythm down. So absolute.
This album is the drugs
Dude its cancer
Loved this.
my first time hearing it, a mysterious, ethereal feel. Teo has such a unique voice, and knows to use it. the bass just drives this, it's wonderful
TEO

Thank you for this beautiful song.
In this rhythm is almost all ethno music of Balkans.
7/8,love it
if the ocean had a stomach it would sound like this
Sounds more like Earth than the ocean to me...
The Eraser was Thom Yorke's solo album from a few years ago. The band him and Nigel brought together to play it live became Atoms for Peace.
Thom touches my soul everytime.
1:50 ‘If you come to me tonight
I’ll be yours for good’
Absolutely love that part of the song. Thom’s voice sounds great as always
I'm so glad that I know about Atoms now. I haven't been very good about following Radiohead lately and lamely enough, I didn't even realized this was Thom's new band. Whooh!
I'll never understand why people can't all be sensible like this, like you. It really just seems like everyone should realize this.
This song is so beautiful. Definitely my favorite Amok song!
Very cool video.. eager for the rest of the album!
this song is hypnotizing

wicked this tune just gets better and better
Meh. I like reverse running and AMOK better... Just my 2 cents, though.
Have you consider that this IS Flea but evolving? I saw them live and trust me... he is VERY MUCH a part of it all and seemed to be loving playing with these guys...
[Verse 1]
Don’t worry, baby
It goes right through me
I’m like the wind and my anger will disperse
Thin persecutors
Thin twisted vespers
A haunted reptile that has crawled upon the earth
[Hook]
I went for my usual walk
I tell it like it is
Tell it like it was
Judge and jury, executioner
Judge and jury, executioner
Judge and jury
[Verse 2]
And darkness follows
No tomorrows
It’s all been decided
All spiced and scented
All bouncing voices down the echo chamber
If you come to me tonight
I'll be yours for good
[Hook]
I went for my usual walk
I went around the block
I just can’t talk or reason with my executioner
Judge and jury, executioner
Judge and jury
[Bridge]
Thin waist betrayers
Who talk in layers
[Hook]
I went for my usual walk
I tell it like it is
Tell it like it was
Judge and jury, executioner
Judge and jury, executioner
Judge and jury
[Outro]
Don’t worry, baby
It goes right through me
I’m like the wind and my anger will disperse
The bridge, the outro and the first two lines of the second verse feel more like a post-chorus
Been waiting FOREVER for a studio version of this since I heard a recorded live version. MINDBLOWING.
Radiohead have no best album, just a collection of amazing albums.
Can't wait latest album in Feb !!!
"Your love will set you free. WILL, set YOU Free."
I absolutely love the videos that accompany your songs on TH-cam
A timeless masterpiece. Britain does this sound so well.
Love Atoms For Peace and other darker soulful sounds from UK acts like

Same birthday here! nice work on that! Many big events seem to happen on March 11.
Thanks, everybody.

Thank you.
Those haunting background vocals.....♥
Mm-gmm.
I only recently realized this group is a mashup of artists from REM, RHCP, and Radiohead.
wowowowow T_T_T_T_T_T_T
It sounds way more like Radiohead than anything else
aphex twin + radiohead + RHCP :)
Actually, the full lineup is as follows:
Thom Yorke - Radiohead
Nigel Godrich - Radiohead, Ultraísta
Flea - RHCP
Joey Waronker - R.E.M., Beck, Ultraísta
Mauro Refosco - Forro in the Dark

*MIND EXPLODING*
This sounds too good
This is really relaxing, and I like the tapping sound and claps. It creates a nice atmosphere with the soft background vocals and Thom's chilling voice.
Great song, cool video...found myself staring :)
superbe... Il y a tout....on entend l'évolution et la richesse acquise...superbe travail.

'Alas, the surety.'
I went to see them last year, and it was a great show. I'd put it up there with anything I've ever been to, and I've seen my share of metal shows.
If you like them you should go. There was plenty of everything.

"ENJOY IT."
I love how Thom has drip fed 3 songs from the album prior to release. His art deserves space and time to appreciate.
Oo Atoms for Peace is bringing back the demoscene?
I would press that like button a thousand times!
Yep.
Oh Thom, the ways in which you only get better astound me.
*heart melts into butter*
Hello are you still alive?
THIS IS LITERALLY WHAT MUSIC LOOKS LIKE INSIDE MY HEAD HOLY SHIT
this video fucked me up
+Corey Holt i've got a similar thing going too this video is awesome
Alex Blum yeah? like synesthesia?

In that case you don't need LSD to get high ;)

"TURN DOWN FOR WHAT!"
I don't know why I feel so tongue-tieddddddd. AMAZING!
I'm a catfish and I approve of this song!
Atoms for Peace @ Roseland still is one of my favorite live shows of all time. Thom's the happiest little man on stage.
"Period."
Gets better with every listen, unreal stuff. Can always count on Thom to deliver the goods.

+Anthony Romeo Words to the wise.
can't wait to see these guys in concert again...!!!
How the fuck does Thom Yorke keep coming up with great songs? It's been just about twenty years since Creep. My, how far we've come!
Yeah Flea is the bassist. The studio stuff seems mostly to be Thom Yorke and Nigel Godrich - like on 'The Eraser'. The rest of the band are mainly involved in translating this into something that can be played live.
There you go!!! We all happy now!!!
7/8 and very fast. amazing stuff... i would definitely pay for this. gladly i would.
can't stop listening to this omg!
Absolutely stoked you lads collaborated with such precision of choice in forming Atoms for Peace!! Yay thom!! Yay Nigel !! Yay flea!! Yay Joey !!! It was priceless to see these songs being created in 2010.
thanks Thom, et. al. -- my atoms are for peace too!

lay back, close your eyes and enjoy listening to brilliance
I saw them twice on this last tour and I definitely agree! Good for him and definitely a little contagious, I want to be as animated as he is all the time lol
Nice one. I was tempted.
I'm really enjoying this a lot more than I did initially. Backing vocals sound immense played through my good headphones!
