So very sad that nowadays in so many ways owning a dog has become so expensive that those who are poor can barely afford one. They have took so much away, and now they are taking dogs away from the poor.

Dogs are a luxury. Look at the poor people and families that you know or knew. They almost all had dogs or other pets. It's a sucker move unless you have money.

Nothing will ever be able to replace dogs. They make us laugh, cry, take time off from the human madness here on earth, learn to love 1000%, etc. I could go on forever but I have to go and spend quality time with my favorite little hound.

I know that one day in the not too distant future he will no longer be with us and it brings silent tears to my eyes a couple of times each week. I am older now and can't get out and walk him like I used to but his mom still walks him each day. I don;t want to think about life without my buddy - they are the absolute best!!

I see dogs serving as proxy friends for different species. Dogs are an adaptable animal. When walked for exercise, I carried "Bacon Bits" and gave them to dogs I met. The dogs were polite and appreciative.
