My husband passed & my grief isn’t lessening. Our dog Dave, a blue heeler, never leaves my side. Consequently he goes everywhere with me - church where the old ladies adore him; the doctor where he kisses everyone’s knees; the optometrist; the post office & the blood testing rooms. Admittedly I’m in the country & his acceptance everywhere still surprises me. If I don’t take him he sits stoically on my back stairs, not moving, until I get home. He’s a megga good boy.

We are so blessed to have such loving animals be apart of our everyday lives! Each one is unique and special in their own way. Plus they have endless buckets of love, and their nothing but loyal too. ❤❤❤❤

Love GSDs. I was swimming with my daughter's family. My three year old grandson had a floatie and four adults in easy arms reach. The GSD had no confidence in any of us, and kept trying to rescue him.

I've got a German Shepherd. She puts herself between myself and anything she perceives as a threat. Everything except a trash truck. If the trash truck is anywhere near, I am on my own. 🤣
@@justsaying9443 mine is a rescue as well. I've had her three years. She was skin and bone when I got her. You could tell she had been mistreated. Sudden movements, raising your arm and a couple of cusswords would make her cower. She cowers no more and is very healthy. She shows aggression at all the right times. Saved me from a pitbull attack once as well.

Gotta be darn careful with the 'Guarding' behavior folks. Sure, it's all fun-and-games, unless said Doggo truly believes their Human is being harmed. I've seen bad things happen when folks play that 'Game.' :-/

My son's doggo wouldn't let me swim. He'd swim out and grab me by the arm every time.
Then, the doggo I have, now, knew I was sick before my diagnosis of aplastic anemia. It affects the bone marrow and causes me to not have enough red body fluids, white body fluids, or platelets. She would come to me, rest her chin on my knee and stare up at me. It was unnerving! It was during routine lab work I got the diagnosis.
When she started doing it, I even posted a pic and wondered what she was doing. I said, then, I hope she wasn't detecting something. Weird!
My saints did that when my wife was in the kitchen messing up my handmade copper pans. Sad to say she could not even boil water without setting off the smoke alarm.
Never knew anyone could burn Instant Oatmeal.
7 yrs since she passed on, we were together 35 yrs how the hell she put up with me, she should be a saint. Just hope HE is not asking for her to cook a meal for HIM tho!

When I use the bathroom, my dog will look, see that I'm sitting, then goes straight to the front door to stand guard until I'm done.
