I would like to suggest that there is nothing separate like heaven and hell. All the karmic cycle is played out here in this physical world. Good karma places a soul in a healthy body, safe, convenient, conducive surroundings, so that by self control, discipline, commitment, it can grow spiritually, at the same time enjoy simple pleasures of life without getting attached to them. This is heaven. As against getting an imperfect/diseased/weak body, born in poor, unsafe circumstances, etc. The permutations and combinations are factors of accumulated karma. But every soul has a choice and by dedicated and sustained efforts, can raise levels of spirituality or the other way also by getting into the clutches of maaya and indulgence.
Quantum entanglement, I believe, is pointing towards another layer of principles deep under the layer of principles of QM. Speed of light is function of medium of space through which it travels. Similarly, there may be another medium in space through which quantum information travels at almost an speed of instantaneousness. The experiments for which Noble prize has been given do not rule out this popossibility.
Whatever Archana is quoting is a postulate in Quantum Physics which has no proof. Why the Schroedinger equation works is something no one knows. All we know is that some experimentally observed data is reproduced by the theory. Further, QM always talks about the observed, not the observer. Whereas Vedanta talks about the observer which is not within the framework of QM. I believe Vedanta stands on its own and doesn't require relation to QM. Also the validity big bang theory is widely debated. Firstly the question that scientists doesn't ask is , into which hascthe big bang expanded? There should be space before the big bang into which it expanded. Then question comes who created the space. And the questions never end... That is why Vedanta says there is no creation.

You need an observer, which means that you have the duality of the observer and the thing observed. How do you reconcile that with Advaita Vedanta (non-duality)?
What you and we as viewers need to understand is that it is not as if Quantum Physics has Hindu roots. Quantum Physics has been what it has always been. Rather it is that Hindus of the past may have been at this place earlier where physicists today have reached Such scenario is not inconceivable. But there really is no cause for pride or self-preening here. Forr if today physicists and scientists have reached certain places, there was a particular outlook and approach to things which facilitated this journey. It is possible as indeed it is happening right in front of us that such an approach no longer informs our outlook. In the past also, it is possible that Hindus had once this kind of outlook, but lost that outlook. And most relevantly can we honestly say currently we live our lives with such outlook? If we do not now have this kind of outlook, there is little point in claiming credit by association with your ancestors of the past who might or might not have scaled those heights.

In fact there is a narrative that when Einstein and Tagore met, apparently Tagore said that an observer is needed for the existence of the things and Einstein retorted that philosophically he is more advanced - he knows that even after both of them leave that room and no one is there, still the chairs and table will remain intact in that room. If matter only exists when it is observed consciously, does that mean that human consciousness can manifest matter whenever it chooses to? This means that the practice of Yog (connectivity/ consciousness) actually enhances man’s ability to create or destroy matter. So Musk doesn’t need to create a rocket to colonise Mars. He only needs to create a conscious team that has a common vision.
It's absolutely incorrect to say that nothing exists until you observe (or measure) it. QM does NOT say that. It only says that the value of something you want to measure is a superposition of all possible values (or eigen states), so that you have a probability density function (a wave function) and when you make a measurement, you see the value to be one of those eigen values (or the wave function collapses to one of the eigen states). Nowhere it says the particle does not exist until you observe/measure it. If you are interested in position of a particle, before you make a measurement, you have a probability associated with each point in the allowed range (which can be finite or infinite); after measuring/observing, you find it in a particular place with 100% certainty. That's all. Whether you observe or not the particle very much exists, only that you don't have an accurate knowledge of where it is. The observable can even be the spin state of an electron, which can take the values of Up and Down. Before measuring, you have probabilities associated with the two states, after measuring it will be either Up or Down. Does it mean that before i measure, the electron had no spin?!! Not at all! An electron cannot exist without spin. QM does not say that reality does not exist. One needs a detailed understanding of both the theories and experiements in physics and also a deep understanding of vedanta in order to make these connections. Indeed the last year’s Nobel has created a situation in QM which can be resolved by Advait Vedant. How ever I must disagree with ArchanaJi’s initial points. The puzzle of specific parameters of the universe is addressed by multiverse thesis. Einstein’s relativity has absolutely nothing to do with Vedantic metaphysics. Thirdly, in QM it is not said that a particle comes to exist when it is observed. It says that a subsystem in a quantum state jumps to an “observable state” when probed. The problem of two slit experiment is the wave-particle state conflict. You have misunderstood the conclusion of the reader here of the 3 Physics Nobel winners. It does not say that particles don’t exist until probed. What they have shown is that identity variable theory proposed by Einstein is false. Actually the connection between QM and Advaita is deeper and we can argue the existence of Subtle Universe, part of Advaita metaphysics.

This view, then, fails to address how, where and when did jeevatmas got created and then accrued their karmas. I would like to know her take on this.

Good karma places a soul in a healthy body, safe, convenient, conducive surroundings, so that by self control, discipline, commitment, it can grow spiritually, at the same time enjoy simple pleasures of life without getting attached to them. This is heaven.
As against getting an imperfect/diseased/weak body, born in poor, unsafe circumstances, etc. The permutations and combinations are factors of accumulated karma.
But every soul has a choice and by dedicated and sustained efforts, can raise levels of spirituality or the other way also by getting into the clutches of maaya and indulgence.

Quantum entanglement, I believe, is pointing towards another layer of principles deep under the layer of principles of QM. Speed of light is function of medium of space through which it travels. Similarly, there may be another medium in space through which quantum information travels at almost an speed of instantaneousness. The experiments for which Noble prize has been given do not rule out this popossibility.

Whatever Archana is quoting is a postulate in Quantum Physics which has no proof. Why the Schroedinger equation works is something no one knows. All we know is that some experimentally observed data is reproduced by the theory. Further, QM always talks about the observed, not the observer. Whereas Vedanta talks about the observer which is not within the framework of QM. I believe Vedanta stands on its own and doesn't require relation to QM. Also the validity big bang theory is widely debated. Firstly the question that scientists doesn't ask is , into which hascthe big bang expanded? There should be space before the big bang into which it expanded. Then question comes who created the space. And the questions never end... That is why Vedanta says there is no creation.

You need an observer, which means that you have the duality of the observer and the thing observed. How do you reconcile that with Advaita Vedanta (non-duality)?

What you and we as viewers need to understand is that it is not as if Quantum Physics has Hindu roots. Quantum Physics has been what it has always been. Rather it is that Hindus of the past may have been at this place earlier where physicists today have reached Such scenario is not inconceivable. But there really is no cause for pride or self-preening here. Forr if today physicists and scientists have reached certain places, there was a particular outlook and approach to things which facilitated this journey. It is possible as indeed it is happening right in front of us that such an approach no longer informs our outlook. In the past also, it is possible that Hindus had once this kind of outlook, but lost that outlook. And most relevantly can we honestly say currently we live our lives with such outlook? If we do not now have this kind of outlook, there is little point in claiming credit by association with your ancestors of the past who might or might not have scaled those heights.

It is complete nonsense. This person does not know Physics and does not know Vedanta either - Physics does not say what she claims and Vedanta does not say what she claims. In fact there is a narrative that when Einstein and Tagore met, apparently Tagore said that an observer is needed for the existence of the things and Einstein retorted that philosophically he is more advanced - he knows that even after both of them leave that room and no one is there, still the chairs and table will remain intact in that room.

A simple doubt.. If a particle is not there and it comes into existence when you observe it, then what you initially observe or you look for ?
It's absolutely incorrect to say that nothing exists until you observe (or measure) it. QM does NOT say that. It only says that the value of something you want to measure is a superposition of all possible values (or eigen states), so that you have a probability density function (a wave function) and when you make a measurement, you see the value to be one of those eigen values (or the wave function collapses to one of the eigen states). Nowhere it says the particle does not exist until you observe/measure it. If you are interested in position of a particle, before you make a measurement, you have a probability associated with each point in the allowed range (which can be finite or infinite); after measuring/observing, you find it in a particular place with 100% certainty. That's all. Whether you observe or not the particle very much exists, only that you don't have an accurate knowledge of where it is. The observable can even be the spin state of an electron, which can take the values of Up and Down. Before measuring, you have probabilities associated with the two states, after measuring it will be either Up or Down. Does it mean that before i measure, the electron had no spin?!! Not at all! One needs a detailed understanding of both the theories and experiements in physics and also a deep understanding of vedanta in order to make these connections. Also, there is more than one school of vedantic thought, not just advaita vedanta. This topic needs much more careful and objective analysis than what has been presented here.

Does not make them true. What is truth is to be empirically tested. In science we don’t care if Einstein or Heisenberg says something. What matter is if it can be tested with evidence by people who also oppose the idea. Come to think of it vedas Quran or bible could not telll us that washing hands with soap will help kill most of the germs and avoid many communicable diseases…😏

Evidence means causality which itself is a tricky affair.Science itself is standing on philosophy to validate it.Nobody is clear whether maths is discovered or invented then how can equation written in that be tested.Space and Time looks dubious then how come testing done in that frame be taken as evidence.Lot of issues are there. Vedanta might not be science but science also is not on very sure footing these days!!!

Indeed the last year’s Nobel has created a situation in QM which can be resolved by Advait Vedant. How ever I must disagree with ArchanaJi’s initial points. The puzzle of specific parameters of the universe is addressed by multiverse thesis.
Einstein’s relativity has absolutely nothing to do with Vedantic metaphysics. Thirdly, in QM it is not said that a particle comes to exist when it is observed. It says that a subsystem in a quantum state jumps to an “observable state” when probed. The problem of two slit experiment is the wave-particle state conflict. You have misunderstood the conclusion of the reader here of the 3 Physics Nobel winners. It does not say that particles don’t exist until probed. What they have shown is that identity variable theory proposed by Einstein is false.
Actually the connection between QM and Advaita is deeper and we can argue the existence of Subtle Universe, part of Advaita metaphysics.
