I setup this video to be both the trains working movements of dumping ballast and a railroad crossing video. After the Tracy Turn got through, the Union Pacific Railroad Herzog Ballast Work Train got the authority to come off the "dead track" to proceed forward on the UP Oakland Subdivsion to be able to lay down ballast on the new "dead track" which is the new extension of the Lathrop Siding being worked on. It was reffered to as the dead track during this as it has no signal system and also isn't connected to the current siding yet as of this video being filmed and because the dispatcher can't see the train. As the train pulled forward slowly at the beginning, the crossing was activated detecting the train slightly on the dead track from the Oakland Subs main track crossing island causing the East French Camp Road railroad crossing to act as it was malfunctioning, the dead track didn't have track circuit sensors yet. Herzog workers were also working with UP laying down th ballast. This was the 2nd ballast dumping move right here today and lasted nearly half an hour. This wasn't the only day of laying ballast also as its not a one day job as I think they did this also one or two times before I filmed this day and some days after also of laying ballast and tamping. I think they did one one or two more moves later in the day after I filmed this. While filming this, I also caught two F-35C Fighter Jets taking off from the Stockton Airport ehich was cool to see also.
Updates As Of Date Published Dec 16, 2023 - As of the day this was published which is about a month and a half later from film date, this railroad crossing functions off a new relay case and also the far WCH signal was replaced with a Siemens signal. The new wayside aspect block signals you see turned sideways are also now active. Down the line near the Lathrop Intermodal Facility, a new cross over switch was installed so the Lathrop Switchers could cross over off the siding to main ehile the old switch gets removed and connected to this new extended part of the siding and also so the Lathrop Switcher could cross over closer to the facility. I can't confirm if the extended siding is done yet but the last time I was there three weeks before publishing this, it looked almost done but wasn't connected to the siding yet.

Nice work
Wow, your videos are very epic!
I am unimpressed. The traffic delay could have been kept to five minutes or less. Herzog could have approached the crossing dispensing ballast from the front cars. Only the locomotives would have needed to enter the crossing. Once the ballast was dumped, the train could have backed down, clearing the crossing. Whatever was going on at the end of the train should not have transpired.
