I’m not sure about how accurate your gps speed is because I’ve had a gps on my mt-125 say 79mph which is 127kph and it has gone faster than that maybe your bike is not fully run in because my engine had done around 2000 miles and it does 85mph - 136kph top speed going down hill without wind maybe just running well with little fuel and low rider weight not sure why but my bike seems to run faster than shown in this video
I tested GPS with a TomTom device, same result. Top speed depends on a few things. 136 km/h might be possible for sure. I test these bikes for 1 week while you can spend a lot more time with it and get better top speed results. I don't remember the mileage but I think it had less than your 2000 miles.
Awesome video. I'm 16 rn turning 17 this year and was thinking to start my A1 license. I've looked into this bike and it looks seccy. I know this is a 125cc but can you ride it with a A1 license for sure? Like what about the kw and stuff.
@@MotoSnax awesome thanks, last question once you pass your A1 license you can carry a passenger. However how old does that passenger needs to be? I searched it up but can't find any info on this
That probably depends on where you live. Over here in The Netherlands you are allowed to take a passenger with you. Not sure for other countries. And age.. I think it is 8 years old over here.
@@dandy4394 they're almost the same, the only thing is how big the rider is. Needless to say a 50 kilos rider gets higher top speed than a 90 kilos one. Both bikes should be equally reliable, the yamaha wins in the looks department for sure.
Ask the European Union. :) In a lot of countries people were able to ride 125cc 15 hp bikes with a car license. In some countries that is still possible, but otherwise you need to get your A1 license for that. The A1 license should have been 250cc and a max of 40 hp or so. But no, they decided 125cc/15hp. Probably to get more people in to a car instead of on a motorcycle. Next up is A2, up to 48 hp and no displacement restriction. So you can ride a 900cc with 48 hp restriction. Next to A2 is the A license where you can go full power.
If you don't like single cylinder engines... go to a twin cylinder or maybe a four. I really like the new Kawasaki Z650. Great bike to start on... for a four cylinder bike I really enjoyed the Honda CB650R. But that one has more power than the Z650. Yamaha has got the MT-07 (or FZ-07 in other parts of the world) which is great too. Suzuki has got the SV650A. All of those are great bikes to start with.
Ride safe my friend. Nice bike. I rode with a friend of mine. He had a Chinese 125 and we had 600cc GSX-R's. 30 min in to a calm ride on the highway he's bike was smoking everywhere.
A lot of junk is coming from China. Not everything though. There are also good engines and bikes, but you will pay more for that and during manufacturing better quality control. The junk stuff is a waste of energy and resources.
Daar was voldoende ruimte.
Depends on the weight of rider too I guess. When I had a 2017 mt125 going above 60mph was already uncomfortable, felt like engine will blow up if I keep it there any longer.
It's the Derbi terra printed by malaguti. I had derbi terra for years, very good bike but was not a top quality, a lot of dangerous problems and in the end after I almost killed myself in the first because the chain was stuck, I had it scrapped. it had more than 40.000 km. it was more from the mechanic than from home. I know that today the engine is no longer the old Piaggio engine block and I have not tried it. the colors of Derbi Terra were beautiful, mine was black. those of the malaguti are obscene. if you want a quality bike I don't feel like advising you because it gave me great emotions. after derbi terra they made the Derbi terra adventure, today called Dune Adventure. my derbi terra was comfortable for traveling, it consumed little, top speed was 110 km / h. unfortunately it is the only motorcycle with that type of design on the market but if you can spend, considering that malaguti is no longer the Italian brand of the past, I recommend a honda, kawasaki or Yamaha. I know, they don't have that shape and are expensive but they are certainly vehicles with excellent technologies.
Maurice MotoMan you’re dumb buddy....thats because if you are going on 60 and is the limit...exist an error of 3-4km...and to dont get charged for nothing they show u less so u keep the 60 and no charge
Both look great.. both have about the same top speed in the most ideal conditions. Both feel like 'bigger' bikes. Hard to choose. Previously I would have said CB125R, but the updated MT-125 is not bad at all. Only downside of this bike is the position of the button for the horn and it has no storage space under the seat.
I'd start with another exhaust so it can breathe better, after that you might want to check sprockets. But overall for the A1 license it is a fine bike.
@@MotoSnax I must admit i don't know much about A1 bikes but if it is very restricted wouldn't you have to get a complete exhaust system? If so then that would probably be pretty expensive for a small bike.
These are perfectly fine on the highway here in the USA, BUT on the freeways/interstates this bike would get you killed. Then again, the Honda Grom is a hot seller here and this bike is way nicer, so maybe there's a market for it....
@@MotoSnax basically pinning top gear at redline, maybe. Some of our interstates have 70-75 mph speed limits, and it’s extremely rare to see anyone go below that speed even in the slow lane. Even the 300ccs don’t offer you much passing power at those speed limits.
Yeah it misses torque. You don't want to go on the interstates with just 125cc. Over here short stretches can be done but you just don't have the power to overtake anything. 300cc's get slow above 90 mph or so. Then it takes forever to overtake.
MotoSnax so the YZF performs better on the motorway but the MT is simply a more comfortable driving position... sitting upright will catch more wind that will slow the MT also... so driving position and lack of fairings makes the MT perform slower on the motorway. That’s my understanding.
Correct. But the seating position makes up to it. Riding a supersport is fun while you ride fast as it will lift your body weight from your wrists. This bike is not fast so you won't have that lift. Supersports look nice but I just don't like the seating position. The MT will do about 132-135 km/h max, the YZF will do about 140 km/h max. But it will be much easier on the YZF.
lol. When I started to ride, I got the old Motorcycle from my Dad. A Honda VT125, cruiser, and I managed to go 130 Km/h. I thought sport bikes are faster than cruisers xD
It depends on the license. These 125cc's are 4 stroke and have max 15 hp. Older 125cc's are 2 stroke and can have 30 hp or sometimes even more and can go up to 160-170 km/h.

Diego Abad depending on your age I’d advise getting a 650cc yeah you pay a couple Of grand more but you don’t lose as much and they are a lot more fun, I traded my 2019 yzf 125 (new model) for an mt07 after 12 months and I wish I just went for the 07 straight off

In absolutely perfect condition, zero wind, empty highway, i got mine to 147 km/h and i didnt even hit the maximum redline speed
Wow, that is pretty fast for a Euro5 125cc!
De serie ni loco!!!😂
The R125 is faster, i see your video it was 131km/h on GPS. Thank you for this Video. 😊👍
Probably because of the fairing (wind protection). I have a faster MT-125 video online, but still not as fast as YZF-R125.
@@MotoSnax Rijue RS3 125 still beats both in the 4 Stroke category

Is this the sound with the stock exhaust,or is it a custom exhaust and if yes please could you tell me which one.
The stock exhaust.
Makes me appreciate my, RD125LC.
Yeah the good old days..
I recently got myself one of these.
These are great, hope you have fun with it!
Do you think the new Mt 125(2020-2021) or the old generation of mt(2017-2019) is faster?
The older one is faster. At least for me. I rode the one from 2015, it is somewhere on my channel.
Bike noob here, could I keep it at 120 kmh for the high way or will that fuck up the engine since it's at high revs
Miguel Lira its 4 stroke it can handle it
Awesome video. I'm 16 rn turning 17 this year and was thinking to start my A1 license. I've looked into this bike and it looks seccy. I know this is a 125cc but can you ride it with a A1 license for sure? Like what about the kw and stuff.
Yep. A1 license compliant. 11kW / 15 hp.
@@MotoSnax ah thanks anyways keep up the content
@@krims254 Thanks will do! :)
Nice video! I am not sure, but I think the old MT-125 was faster?

What about honda CB125R 2021
@@dandy4394 they're almost the same, the only thing is how big the rider is. Needless to say a 50 kilos rider gets higher top speed than a 90 kilos one. Both bikes should be equally reliable, the yamaha wins in the looks department for sure.

Not that I can recall. Perhaps high in revs...
Honda CB125R and Yamaha mt125 , which one is better?
I was unable to try the latest CB125R so I really can't tell. But you can't go wrong on both bikes.
@@MotoSnax alright, thx 🙏
Cool.
Btw, why eu likes 125 cc motorcycle or scooter?
125cc scooter doesn't even go to 15 hp limit.
The Honda Forza 125 and the Italjet Dragster 125 are both scooters with 15 hp.
Looking for a good starter bike but I hate the sound of a single cylinder engine. Do you have any suggestions
Do you have license restrictions?
No we don't
If you don't like single cylinder engines... go to a twin cylinder or maybe a four. I really like the new Kawasaki Z650. Great bike to start on... for a four cylinder bike I really enjoyed the Honda CB650R. But that one has more power than the Z650. Yamaha has got the MT-07 (or FZ-07 in other parts of the world) which is great too. Suzuki has got the SV650A. All of those are great bikes to start with.
Thank you for the suggestions, I will definitely be looking into these bikes for my starter
Hey guys, getting mine in few days. Is it okay first the bike if you drive at 120 km/h for 30 minutes??? Does it harm the bike or something?
It should be able to do it. Just be sure you follow the maintenance intervals.
Hii.
Wats the price of this bike? And registration cost ?
That differs per country. Check your local websites of the dealership and where you register your bikes.

Mt 07
This is in ideal conditions. If you have a strong head wind you won't get past 110 km/h or so.
Yeah it depends on the wind, if it's reverse of where I'm going it might me like 105-110 kmh at best
Nee.
When it will be launched in India
I have no idea.. perhaps you can contact Yamaha India?
Nice bike
Ride safe my friend. Nice bike. I rode with a friend of mine. He had a Chinese 125 and we had 600cc GSX-R's. 30 min in to a calm ride on the highway he's bike was smoking everywhere.
A lot of junk is coming from China. Not everything though. There are also good engines and bikes, but you will pay more for that and during manufacturing better quality control. The junk stuff is a waste of energy and resources.
situatie is 1:18
Daar was voldoende ruimte.
Good job. My KTM RC does 123km/h.

Which speed is accurate of bike speedometer or from your mobile
The lowest.
Why is my Yamaha MT125 speeding up to 110km / h? What do I need to replace or repair?
Depends on the weight of rider too I guess. When I had a 2017 mt125 going above 60mph was already uncomfortable, felt like engine will blow up if I keep it there any longer.
Depends on many things, this is with wind in the back, if you ride against the wind you won't go that much faster than you are doing.

Its just so expensive compared to fx Honda CBF125
More expensive technique. MT-125 has a liquid cooled engine probably 2 valves extra, vva etc. Better compare the MT-125 to the CB125R.
Can it fit a passenger on the back? The seat area looks quite small
Yes, but the person should not be too big.
Will you have Malaguti Dune 125 for testing?
We don't have a Malaguti importer in my country.
Onroaddotbike's review is pretty good
It's the Derbi terra printed by malaguti.
Im debating between this and the ktm duke , for me the ktm looks so much better
Then you should buy KTM. Just know the Yamaha engine is more bulletproof.

Hey guys I'm 6"2 do you think I can start on one of these 125s or are they just too small?
It will probably fit but most 125cc bikes are overall a bit small.
Is this a good first bike?
If you are only allowed 125cc then yes.
Was the 120 kmph downhill?
Slightly, 1-2%. No mountains over here.
Sweet, the sound "pffffffff" .... hahahhaha ;)

Kinda stupid that both can't show the actual speed
Maurice MotoMan you’re dumb buddy....thats because if you are going on 60 and is the limit...exist an error of 3-4km...and to dont get charged for nothing they show u less so u keep the 60 and no charge
Nice
Which is faster between Cb125R and Mt-125?
Both are as fast. I have done another top speed run and I will upload it soon. It is a tiny bit faster than in this video.
@MotoSnax What’s your thoughts about them? Which is better? Thankyou!
Cbr125r I used to have one before I got the ninja 125cc and that cbr would do 90mph down hill lol
I seems like it would be worth experimenting with sprocket size on this bike
I'd start with another exhaust so it can breathe better, after that you might want to check sprockets. But overall for the A1 license it is a fine bike.
@@MotoSnax I must admit i don't know much about A1 bikes but if it is very restricted wouldn't you have to get a complete exhaust system? If so then that would probably be pretty expensive for a small bike.
These are perfectly fine on the highway here in the USA, BUT on the freeways/interstates this bike would get you killed. Then again, the Honda Grom is a hot seller here and this bike is way nicer, so maybe there's a market for it....
it should be able to do interstates and freeways but in the slow lane.
Price, mileage?
Price varies per country. Mileage... 1 liter per 33-41 km depending on your riding style.
Is this a good A1 begginer bike?
Yes it is.
What’s better on motorway, MT or YZF?
YZF. Has fairing. :) But MT has a more relaxed seating position.
MotoSnax in terms of performance, which one is better on motorway?
They have the same engine. I don't even think the configuration / gearing etc. is different. But because the YZF has got wind protection it is faster.
Stupid uk laws limit the power of 125 thats why

Go with the mt its just so more nimble and compfty to ride..
You wont get the benefits from the supersport with 124ccm
I'd go for the MT as well. A more comfortable seating position. But if you are allowed to ride more than 125cc, I'd buy something with more cc's.
