You have to give the Planzo crew credit, theyre at least shedding a spotlight on some lesser known animals(ex. Chinese Pangolin, Bonobo, Nyala, Bairds Tapir)but...i would be lying if i didnt agree that its weird that the Jaguar, Black Rhiniceros, Red Kangaroo, Polar Bear, Moose, and Emperor Penguin are not in the game. Fingers crossed for future DLC🤞
It's a shame that there are only three birds to choose from, and there are no penguins, polar bears, otters, meerkats or kangaroos. Hopefully DLC with all of those will be along soon enough?

All animals I'm hoping for too! I'm sure many will be added with DLC's (I am a little disappointed there are no penguins yet.) I wonder if they'll do certain DLC themes like birds and reptiles or arctic and Australian animals, etc. There are so many possibilities.

I got rid of a lot in proportions atm, and also grouping the feeding platforms, because it reduces their traveling time a lot ( especially in a giant enclosure ).

Great starting collection but I really hope Frontier plans to double the amount of animals we will eventually get. I look back at the number of dinosaurs available at launch of Jurassic World Evolution and what we have now, so I feel more reassured that we'll get more animals as time goes on. I'd like to see more aquatic animals that use deep pools. Got the game installed; can't wait to find time to start playing.
I'm sure there will be lots of animals added in the future with updates and DLC's! There definitely are some iconic animals missing that are probably being saved for those future installments. Considering the Jurassic World and Planet Coaster games, it would be very surprising if they didn't add more.

I was hoping to see a striped hyena too, since that was one of my favorites in Zoo Tycoon 2, but hopefully they and a bunch of other animals get added in future updates or DLC.
@@carlopannone5281 Striped hyenas and aardwolves are two different animals, but having both be added would actually be even cooler! (Zoo Tycoon 2 needed an expansion for the striped hyenas and never had spotted hyenas in the game.)

I would love to have some small/medium cats as well like a Palla's cat, Ocelot or Clouded leopard. Normal big leopard species would also be awesome and what about Jaguars? Marine animals would be great as well... Same as birds like owls, parrots, vultures, horbills etc. Otters, penguins, kangaroos, caimans, maybe wild goat species? Polar bears! Maybe something strange looking like a saiga antelope? I pretty sure that more animals will be added, just hope that they will go in many directions with it. So many amazing animals that they can add! Hope they will also add more animals that aren't that well known by most people like the saiga antelope. Probably keeps it interesting!
My girlfriend has been trying to get me to buy a pc for a while now but this game has sold me, I loved the Zoo Tycoon and Wildlife Park games growing up and I always wanted a modern version of them and now there is this! The base roster looks great and I've already summed up which DLC's I'm gonna buy too so I'm getting very excited!

This starting roster is fantastic although I expected Penguins, Polar Bears and Kangaroos to be part of the starting line-up. There's quite a few other animals to be included too as others have stated, including more variations of those currently present (and I have quite the wishlist still). More terrarium species are definitely needed at the moment. On top of that, there's the introduction of aviaries that would be good to have. I hope they follow the footsteps of ZT games and bring in a Marine Mania equivalent in the future with the introduction of aquariums, seals, otters and sea lions (I know Orcas & such are a little controversial but c'mon! They're just too iconic & wonderful. Just make them more difficult to care for and get rid of shows entirely). And of course, even though we have JWE; I still want realistic (yay fluffy raptors!) extinct animals with all the Planet Zoo behaviors. I want to be able to make more varied zoos than Jurassic World, and hybrid exhibits like in Prehistoric Park - also gets creative in terms of the staff services and enrichment required to house such creatures (ZT2 touched on this but we could go so much deeper) The game has so much potential and really could go on for years in terms of content to be added, not just with animals but also themes and mechanics...but I wonder if maybe it's too much? Could we really get all that with this game?
True, but that could be said about other animals included and would also mean no Polar Bears. Also we can create unrealistic sized & enhanced exhibits that aren't possible in Sea World equivalents in the game - leading to Orcas in the game just having much higher requirements to stay happy & healthy compared to other animals. Also Orcas are a staple in these games and it'd be a shame to not have them present after waiting for this level of quality in animal appearance, behaviours and personalities
Penguins and Polar bears would be out of place. We need more arctic animals to come with them. As would Kangaroos. Not enough Australian animals to pair them with. Id much rather have few more filled out groups of animals in the base game and then get more counterparts for the 3 you mentioned in DLC.
Ok but why does that wildebeest look like an alien ? Also they need wayyy more birds and other animals from australia, SounthalAmerica and the arctic / Antarctica. Let's hope they make a good dlc.
Indeed, even if this one is more or less of a meh for me, since I really find Marinelands and this kind of parcs as really bad for the life conditions of animals. Especially dolphins, orcas and cetacean in general. They travel so much distance in their natural habitat that it's more or less impossible to reproduce IRL. But in this game, I guess it's feasible to have much much bigger tanks for them, even if not as big as in the wild of course. Other marines are fine btw, pinnipedes etc ...

@@chewieart9482 Yeah I see what you're meaning. Just corals reefs and fish then. It's already what we are able to maintain in aquariums and not marinelands. But "other" is ok for some. Like the seals, because as I said, they don't have this migrating habit and this habit of roaming a lot in the sea, they always have an anchor on land, and they also spend a good proportion of resting on the said land.
Do I have to remember that Frontier created zoo Tycoon, where there were dlcs entirely dedicated to sea creatures, if they could do that at those times, they can do that now

I am overly thrilled about the inclusion of hyenas, but I'm sad that there aren't any foxes. Red, fennec, and arctic foxes would be awesome, along with striped hyenas!! And maybe different colored wolves? I hope these get added eventually
No beavers? What about Caribou? Caracals? There are no polar animals like penguins or polar bears? Moose, Fennec foxes, more small monkeys. Hopefully they will add koalas, too. Maybe wolverines or Lynx too. Gerenuk are cool as well. Also meerkats and kangaroos. Hopefully we will get all of those in DLC or updates
those walls were looking rough lol... i was waiting for 1 or several to fall :) They did such a good job on all these animals. They are beautiful. YT compression and video quality doesnt do them justice. Something i learned about the poisonous frog by my local zoo is they are only poisonous when fireflies are in their diet. They gave one to a gentleman who was a volunteer for a long period of time, and I asked how could they give a poisonous frog to someone LOL and that was the answer I was given.
There's a fair amount of shared animals in this game with Zoo Tycoon 2 but its still missing a lot of animals from ZT2 including marine and extinct animals. Hopefully those will be released as well with expansion packs/DLC. I loved ZT2 and I've always wanted to see a third one in the series in HD. I'm not counting the disgraceful Xbox version we got in 2013.
I'm am completely in love with this game dispite of not having the game (yet). I hope one day we can buy an extention where we can make our own aviary. Seeing what they already have achieved this must be possible.
Bound to be an Aussie DLC, so many unique species that didn't make the cut. Frontier have made a stellar effort but I wouldn't mind an extended roster with roos, emus, koalas, platypus, cassowary, Dingo and importantly the Tasmanian devil as it heavily ties in to conservation efforts. Also while I'm at it the game could also use an Arctic/Antarctic DLC (Polar bears, arctic fox, penquin, seals if we're lucky?) and maybe a deer and moose species to go with the bison, not including the pronghorn that's pretty much an American springbok.
Cool!!!))) would be nice to see orca, seal, walrus, eagle, raven, owl, black\white rhino, gibbon, bat, leo\panther\jaguar, polar bear) and ofcourse some animals to roam free at the zoo (but which wouldn't scare the people) - domestic cats\dogs\hamster.
Actually they all move around their heads, eyes, legs, antennae, pedipalps, tongues, stuff like that. In this video they aren't moving cuz they had the game paused while viewing them. None move around onscreen, though, but to be fair, they don't move much in real life either.
Only 70 animals? May be I'd wait a bit until everything comes out to buy the game. Wish there was a variety of fish, insects, and birds. Imagine building a dolphinarium inside the park. Hope they bring everything with an expansion pack.
For water animals only have a few wishes, which are my favorites: Airapaima, Leopard Seal, Manta, Cookiecutter Sharks, Stingrays, Freshwater Giant Stingray, Piranha, Moray Eels, Electric Eels, Goliath Tiger Fish, Giant Catfish, Lionfish, Stone Fish, Marlin, Thresher Shark, Barracuda, Manatee, Giant Octopus, Giant Jellyfish, Giant Starfish (crown of thorns), Leafy Seadragons, giant anemones, Sawfish, and the Alligator Gar. I'm not a fan of whales in zoo's so they can be cut for all I care.

Nvidia's HairFX/Hair Shader using Tesselation could work wonders to the furry mammals like the Tigers & Bears. Animationr r so gud they feel like motion captured. BUT, I feel they could include a few more: Cougar,/Leopard/Jaguar, American Alligator/Black Caiman, Cassowary, Dwarf Kangaroo, Coyote, any medium sized cat(Bobcat/Lynx/Serval/Caracal, Clouded Leopard)
This may sound like a dumb question, but my animals graphics don’t look as amazing as i’ve seen in other people’s videos. Don’t get me wrong they’re still great, however, I know they are not at their max potential. Is there a setting i’m missing? Or is it something to do with my overall computer graphics?
I don't know I kinda would have prefered that there be more animals and and slightly less graphic details and animation. But the animal roster is still nothing to scoff at and the animation and graphics are amazing. Hopefully we will get expansion packs or creature pack that don't cost too much pretty soon.

They purposely missed out a lot of iconic zoo animals because they have them saved for DLC. I don't want to splash loads of cash on DLC and reskinned animals.

I noticed that there are no arctic (or antarctic) animals at all. No polar bears, caribou, musk oxen, arctic wolves, seals, walruses or penguins. I wonder if they're planning an arctic-themed expansion in the future.
We need a North American animals DLC. We hardly have any. Give me some elk and deer, alligator snapping turtles, Skunks, porcupines, possums, ground hogs, Eagles/hawks, Mountain goats, moose, otters, reindeer, pronghorns, wolverines, etc...

I was hoping to see a striped hyena too, since that was one of my favorites in Zoo Tycoon 2, but hopefully they and a bunch of other animals get added in future updates or DLC.

@@carlopannone5281 Striped hyenas and aardwolves are two different animals, but having both be added would actually be even cooler! (Zoo Tycoon 2 needed an expansion for the striped hyenas and never had spotted hyenas in the game.)

I would love to have some small/medium cats as well like a Palla's cat, Ocelot or Clouded leopard. Normal big leopard species would also be awesome and what about Jaguars? Marine animals would be great as well... Same as birds like owls, parrots, vultures, horbills etc. Otters, penguins, kangaroos, caimans, maybe wild goat species? Polar bears! Maybe something strange looking like a saiga antelope? I pretty sure that more animals will be added, just hope that they will go in many directions with it. So many amazing animals that they can add! Hope they will also add more animals that aren't that well known by most people like the saiga antelope. Probably keeps it interesting!

My girlfriend has been trying to get me to buy a pc for a while now but this game has sold me, I loved the Zoo Tycoon and Wildlife Park games growing up and I always wanted a modern version of them and now there is this! The base roster looks great and I've already summed up which DLC's I'm gonna buy too so I'm getting very excited!
I was so stoked when I found out there was African wild dogs in this game!!! I absolutely love African wild dogs and I don’t think I’ve seen one in a game like this before

I'd love to see these animals added to the game:
-Mammals (some are lesser known): raccoon, wolverine, skunk, binturong, mongoose, fossa, linsang, civet, peccary, chevrotain, rodents, lagomorphs, solenodon, hedgehog, mole, shrew, anteater, sloth, bat, armadillo, hyrax, sengi, flying lemur, treeshrew, otter shrew, pinnipeds, sirens, cetaceans, platypus, echidna, and marsupials.
-More birds (small ones to birds of preys)
-More amphibians (salamanders and caecilians)
-Aquatic DLC: fish, crustaceans, molluscs, bobbit worm, cnidarians, echinoderms, sponges.
-Very unknown animals like comb jellies, roundworms, flatworms, velvet worms and tardigrades would be interesting additions as well...
This starting roster is fantastic although I expected Penguins, Polar Bears and Kangaroos to be part of the starting line-up.
There's quite a few other animals to be included too as others have stated, including more variations of those currently present (and I have quite the wishlist still). More terrarium species are definitely needed at the moment. On top of that, there's the introduction of aviaries that would be good to have.
I hope they follow the footsteps of ZT games and bring in a Marine Mania equivalent in the future with the introduction of aquariums, seals, otters and sea lions (I know Orcas & such are a little controversial but c'mon! They're just too iconic & wonderful. Just make them more difficult to care for and get rid of shows entirely).
And of course, even though we have JWE; I still want realistic (yay fluffy raptors!) extinct animals with all the Planet Zoo behaviors. I want to be able to make more varied zoos than Jurassic World, and hybrid exhibits like in Prehistoric Park - also gets creative in terms of the staff services and enrichment required to house such creatures (ZT2 touched on this but we could go so much deeper)
The game has so much potential and really could go on for years in terms of content to be added, not just with animals but also themes and mechanics...but I wonder if maybe it's too much? Could we really get all that with this game?
Grant Whittington they really care about conservation and animal wellfare so I doubt they will put orcas in the game :/

True, but that could be said about other animals included and would also mean no Polar Bears.
Also we can create unrealistic sized & enhanced exhibits that aren't possible in Sea World equivalents in the game - leading to Orcas in the game just having much higher requirements to stay happy & healthy compared to other animals.
Also Orcas are a staple in these games and it'd be a shame to not have them present after waiting for this level of quality in animal appearance, behaviours and personalities
Penguins and Polar bears would be out of place. We need more arctic animals to come with them. As would Kangaroos. Not enough Australian animals to pair them with. Id much rather have few more filled out groups of animals in the base game and then get more counterparts for the 3 you mentioned in DLC.

Indeed, even if this one is more or less of a meh for me, since I really find Marinelands and this kind of parcs as really bad for the life conditions of animals. Especially dolphins, orcas and cetacean in general. They travel so much distance in their natural habitat that it's more or less impossible to reproduce IRL. But in this game, I guess it's feasible to have much much bigger tanks for them, even if not as big as in the wild of course. Other marines are fine btw, pinnipedes etc ...
@@adrien4269 I'm not a big fan of holding dolphins, orcas or other kinds of big creatures in captivity, but if there would be a possibility of making the coral reef I'm 100% on it.
@@chewieart9482 Yeah I see what you're meaning. Just corals reefs and fish then. It's already what we are able to maintain in aquariums and not marinelands. But "other" is ok for some. Like the seals, because as I said, they don't have this migrating habit and this habit of roaming a lot in the sea, they always have an anchor on land, and they also spend a good proportion of resting on the said land.
Do I have to remember that Frontier created zoo Tycoon, where there were dlcs entirely dedicated to sea creatures, if they could do that at those times, they can do that now

I am overly thrilled about the inclusion of hyenas, but I'm sad that there aren't any foxes. Red, fennec, and arctic foxes would be awesome, along with striped hyenas!! And maybe different colored wolves? I hope these get added eventually

No beavers? What about Caribou? Caracals? There are no polar animals like penguins or polar bears? Moose, Fennec foxes, more small monkeys. Hopefully they will add koalas, too. Maybe wolverines or Lynx too. Gerenuk are cool as well. Also meerkats and kangaroos. Hopefully we will get all of those in DLC or updates
At last I can make my dream to make an entire zoo with just Red Pandas a reality.

Something i learned about the poisonous frog by my local zoo is they are only poisonous when fireflies are in their diet. They gave one to a gentleman who was a volunteer for a long period of time, and I asked how could they give a poisonous frog to someone LOL and that was the answer I was given.
There's a fair amount of shared animals in this game with Zoo Tycoon 2 but its still missing a lot of animals from ZT2 including marine and extinct animals. Hopefully those will be released as well with expansion packs/DLC. I loved ZT2 and I've always wanted to see a third one in the series in HD. I'm not counting the disgraceful Xbox version we got in 2013.
Definitely needs more birds. Cassowary, emu, marabou stork, guinefowl, pelicans and of course penguins.

I'm am completely in love with this game dispite of not having the game (yet). I hope one day we can buy an extention where we can make our own aviary. Seeing what they already have achieved this must be possible.
Bound to be an Aussie DLC, so many unique species that didn't make the cut. Frontier have made a stellar effort but I wouldn't mind an extended roster with roos, emus, koalas, platypus, cassowary, Dingo and importantly the Tasmanian devil as it heavily ties in to conservation efforts. Also while I'm at it the game could also use an Arctic/Antarctic DLC (Polar bears, arctic fox, penquin, seals if we're lucky?) and maybe a deer and moose species to go with the bison, not including the pronghorn that's pretty much an American springbok.
So many animals that they still have left to add, but great starting collection!!

Actually they all move around their heads, eyes, legs, antennae, pedipalps, tongues, stuff like that. In this video they aren't moving cuz they had the game paused while viewing them. None move around onscreen, though, but to be fair, they don't move much in real life either.

For water animals only have a few wishes, which are my favorites: Airapaima, Leopard Seal, Manta, Cookiecutter Sharks, Stingrays, Freshwater Giant Stingray, Piranha, Moray Eels, Electric Eels, Goliath Tiger Fish, Giant Catfish, Lionfish, Stone Fish, Marlin, Thresher Shark, Barracuda, Manatee, Giant Octopus, Giant Jellyfish, Giant Starfish (crown of thorns), Leafy Seadragons, giant anemones, Sawfish, and the Alligator Gar. I'm not a fan of whales in zoo's so they can be cut for all I care.

Nvidia's HairFX/Hair Shader using Tesselation could work wonders to the furry mammals like the Tigers & Bears. Animationr r so gud they feel like motion captured. BUT, I feel they could include a few more: Cougar,/Leopard/Jaguar, American Alligator/Black Caiman, Cassowary, Dwarf Kangaroo, Coyote, any medium sized cat(Bobcat/Lynx/Serval/Caracal, Clouded Leopard)
Maybe one day we'll get binturongs and penguins, maybe a full marine extension :')

This may sound like a dumb question, but my animals graphics don’t look as amazing as i’ve seen in other people’s videos. Don’t get me wrong they’re still great, however, I know they are not at their max potential. Is there a setting i’m missing? Or is it something to do with my overall computer graphics?
I don't know I kinda would have prefered that there be more animals and and slightly less graphic details and animation. But the animal roster is still nothing to scoff at and the animation and graphics are amazing. Hopefully we will get expansion packs or creature pack that don't cost too much pretty soon.

I hope this game gets dlcs or updates with more reptiles and birds, because so far it's very mammal-centric, like look at how many bears there are, like you're gonna tell me we can have two nearly identical-looking brown bears meanwhile the american alligator doesn't even have a spot ? and snakes are restricted to immobile exhibit props, and where are raptors, parrots, storks, and all the other birds you often encounter in zoos ???

They purposely missed out a lot of iconic zoo animals because they have them saved for DLC. I don't want to splash loads of cash on DLC and reskinned animals.

I noticed that there are no arctic (or antarctic) animals at all. No polar bears, caribou, musk oxen, arctic wolves, seals, walruses or penguins. I wonder if they're planning an arctic-themed expansion in the future.
