    Crazy to come back and watch this again after everything that has come since this! Been watching for a long time now and have had a great time being along for the journey. Can't wait to see Roamin the Gladiator all built out

    Did the same thing.... sight unseen portland to sacramento. HAHA! I love my sunrader. Getting a new engine for it in the next few weeks. Upgrading to a performance 22RE from Oregon Engine rebuilders. Should get 135 hp! May be able to get to 70! Have fun.

    Reminds me of the 8 hour trip I made in my Sundader returning home with a full shitter. a little smelly. LOL The noise from the rear was alarming with all the rattling.

    I just did a similar thing with a 1990 Toyota that was 200 miles (5 hours of back roads away). Not only did I make sure to have insurance, I purchased a AAA Premium RV membership which includes a 200 mile tow. It cost about $165 and is well worth the money if you use it!

    • @Down2Mob
      @Down2Mob  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thats awesome anthony! Good to know, thanks for sharing that info. It certainly is a rush picking up a vehicle that is far from home!

    • @paulmayfield9709
      @paulmayfield9709 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Only problem with that is AAA won’t come pick you up they have left my stranded twice once about 1000miles and another about 500 miles from home wait they did pick me up the first time I forgot but it took me about 6 hours of arguing with them while I was on the freeway. They would say they were coming then say they weren’t I told them that it was just a Toyota bring a truck and rope I don’t care. Finally someone got there you pay extra for rv they sent out a flat bed so you could imagine how high it was and they oils not bring me where I wanted to go they brought to an rv park cause he knew someone there at least I got off freeway. So after telling them what I thought they wouldn’t give me my money back just a free year membership so I tried again the next time left me hanging again for about 7 or 8 hours to say they can’t make it so I no longer have AAA but they did refund me for the tow I was pretty surprised about that

    Young man, I'm curious: what did you pay for that RV? Did you tell us on the first episode? Maybe I missed it. So far, the problems you described with the overheating and the rust and stains on the inside (and the ant) are all minor and easily fixed. I'm an older guy and have been toying with the idea of buying an RV. I'll be retiring within the next 5 years. I can't afford a $60K RV but I might be able to swing an older one like yours. Good luck!

    Add me to the crazy folk. I think these are more expensive in Canada. We are about to, I hope, get a 1982 21ft sunraider in next few days. Originally from the U.S.
    Any suggestions of what we should check when we see it? I am excited and nervous. Id rather have a 18ft with 6 cylinder for the pep and parking; my hubby wants the 4 cylinder. Does anyone know what features the 21ft has over the 18ft? I can't tell from the videos Ive seen so far. Are we crazy to get a 1982? Its apparently in good condition.

    I towed a 21 ft Toyota clipper from Ohio to Illinois 10 hours with a 95 Cherokee jeep, worst trip ever, like having 5,500 pounds pushing you down every hill and squirrelly over 60 mph. But at $2500 with 50 thousand miles and a potential resale of $5000 ta $8000 I had ta do it, I would have bused in and drove it but the fuel pump was out plopped the tank put in a rock auto cheap pump and vroom vroom.

    • @Down2Mob
      @Down2Mob  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wow, what a crazy story that is! I'll bet that was a wild ride. I cannot believe you pulled it down the street with a Jeep, let alone to Illinois! Thanks for sharing

      Oh no way? That sucks. Ya it was not a bad drive, but pretty nerve racking in a 31 year old motorhome that I haven't even gone over yet. She just got some lovin, stay tuned for the next vid!

    So you bought a 31 yr old Toyota truck. Didn't have it checked out or tuned up by a mechanic and decide to go on a 7hr drive back to your home? Alittle common sense goes a long way.

    • @Down2Mob
      @Down2Mob  7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yes sir! Alls well that ends well, I guess. I'll be honest I made it look a little dramatic in the video, it ran great on 3 cylinders all the way home, but the end scene of this I was a bit bummed haha thanks for commenting

    Should bought a bigger motor home so you could put the jeep on a trailer

    • @Down2Mob
      @Down2Mob  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I've certainly considered all the options. For me this is the best. A trailer and a huge motorhome wont go where I'm going, and wouldn't be able to fit into a regular parking spot. Besides, who needs all that space. The point of this is to be out in nature, but with comfort. by the way, I am converting this to 4x4

      Also your video skills are awesome.

    • @Down2Mob
      @Down2Mob  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ya it is going to be quite the project! I should mention I plan to live in it and travel at some point, and sell the Jeep. That is the main reason I don't want a big rig. Thanks Dave, I appreciate that coming from you. I am having a lot of fun with it right now
