    Today I will show you how to make a Celtic knot wire wrap ring. This wire wrap ring features a solid band with a beautiful Celtic style braid in the center. It is a Beginner wire wrap tutorial, easy for even a first day wire wrap artist! Feel free to pause and work along with me. All of my techniques are easily adaptable, so feel free to change what you'd like. Remember to have fun!
    --------------------------
    A small history on Celtic culture and the Knotwork they created :
    Celtic knot-work was not only practiced as artwork by the Celts, but also had deeper meanings behind it. Since the Celts did not keep records of themselves before the Roman's conquest of Gaul, what we know of their culture comes mostly from Greek and Roman historians, as well as oral tradition passed down from generation to generation. In general it is believed that to the pre-christian pagan Celts, the knotwork may have represented both the circular infinity of the universe, as well as how the spiritual and the physical world are intertwined into one.
    This ring was inspired by the beautiful wire woven jewelry of the past, and the mysterious traditions of the people of the Celtic nations. I have also designed it as simple project that most beginners can take on with no problem.
    --------------------------
    Materials Needed:
    Chain Nose Pliers
    Semi-flush Cutters
    1 Rubber Tipped Clamp
    20, 24 and 28 gauge wire
    Ring Mandrel

    I was wondering, if you might have a video that shows how to set a stone into this ring pattern. If I could learn that, it might be all I ever do with my free time. Lol
    Btw, I've watched quite a few wire wrap video channels on TH-cam lately.
    Yours is BY FAR the best I've seen. You speak clearly, have good lighting, good camera work, and you just get straight to the point, without ums, uhs, or generally flubbing your way through unnecessary chatter. You're awesome!

    You do incredible work!! I'm so impressed. Is there any reason not to solder the little bow-tie where you press the cut ends together?? Then when you are using the 29 ga. wire to tine the braid to the outer frame wires, can you drop in a bit of solder in the underside where it would not show?? Please let me know. You work is delightful. Thank you for sharing. AX

    Great tutorial, just one comment from me.. Get closer to your microphone.. I had my notebook on full vilume, the TH-cam app on full volume, and at times, I had to really listen closely.. Now that I think about it, I guess I could have turned on the closed caption or whatever it is they call it.
    Just wondering.. If you were to sell this ring at a craft show, how much would you ask?
    I was into the paracord craze about 10 years ago, had rolls and rolls of 550 cord, then I found a supplier down in Arizone that had LaCrosse cord in a huge amount of colors and patterns. Tied up a bunch of bracelets, key fobs, you name it.. Went to a craft show with all my cordage, my artists easel that I used for measuring the bracelt and holding the inner cords tight so I could do the wrapping/tying on the outside of the cords.
    I sold ONE bracelet for $5.00... I can't recall the number of people that walked by and I'd hear them say "On my son/daughter knows how to do that.." Her son/daughter might have tied one or two pitiful bracelets to keep one and give one to her bestie.. And now all that paracord stuff she had to have ends up on a yard sale table selling for pennies on the dollar..
    I tied my bracelets, critters, necklaces and if I sold any of them, I donated the money to No-Kill animal shelters. It was all a hobby. No way to get rich on it that's for sure..

    Is it possible to make the woven (middle) into a whole ring then attach two separate whole wire rings for the top and bottom? Or is there a reason why it is done in the video?

  • @lynnkeller8187
    @lynnkeller8187 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hi Bobi Allen, I am just watching this video and my question is...How do you get your wire so damn straight? I love the way you weave. Also using the crafting clips/rubber on ends Happy Holidays All The Best in 2021 Cheers!! Lynn xo

    • @bobiallen7064
      @bobiallen7064  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Honestly, I run down them with nylon jaw pliers, or I finger straighten them. The best advice I can give you there is to try and relax your hands and not death grip your wire. I use the 2"spring clamp for that reason also. I hope this helps!!
