    For anyone who has no access to square wire, for whatever reason, if you gently hammer each ring band so that you create a flat side, that will improve your outcome dramatically. I tried and was happy with the results. You still should be using half round for binding but I bet it would probably be ok if you used a Very thin round wire to bind as well.

    Thank you for this! I made 5 perfect rings in a row tonight in different sizes using 20 guage half hard for the base wires and 20 guage half round (DS).
    Making sure the length of the base wires are the same as well as even tension on the half round weaving wires is consistent is the key to making these!
    Thanks again for another great tutorial Nolan!

    Love your Tutorials! Thank you so much for explaining this in such a way where it was very easy to understand. My only request is to show how stones are added, I’ve seen several designs similar but with stones on top and it still comes out as an infinity ring or a seamless ring. I would love to know how to incorporate gemstones or small cabochons into the ring but also keep it seamless. Thank you so much for everything you’ve put out so far it’s really helped and not just my journey and wire wrapping, but a lot of others that I have seen within the past year or so since I’ve been doing this❤

    Thank you for this, I am fairly new to wire wrapping and still find soldering a bit intimidating, so I always appreciate this kind of alternative.
    One question, if you don't mind.. how do you straighten square wire, so that it doesn't have the subtle twists, made apparent once wrapped. You're work has led me to fall in love with square wire, and I'm definitely incorporating it into as much of my work as I can, but I have to admit these small twist drive me crazy (obviously never an issue with round wire!).

    • @sinneryetsaintly
      @sinneryetsaintly 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You have to make sure it doesn't twist to begin with! Once a twist starts its hard to correct it. If your having trouble with making the ring shank circles just wrap them very slowly around a ring mandrel making sure you keep a flat side down firmly against the mandrel.

    Wow... I'm so impressed with you! Question, is the square base wires dead soft or half hard? Getting ring sizing right, beginning to end has been a major struggle for me. I've been working wire for 10+ years, but totally self taught by trial and error. This has been wonderful, as I am not used to any instruction, but I love your way of doing things. You are an amazing teacher and artist! Thank you!!!!

    One thing that would be nice to add in the description area is all your supplies (i.e. wire type and gauge, tools, etc.). This would be helpful so rewatching that part of the video is unnecessary.

    Amazing tutorial! Do you think this would be able to be done with a channel setting somehow?

    • @Divine_Mode
      @Divine_Mode 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes actually, you could run the setting wires beneath the wire being coiled around the band (:

    • @marisabaldwin4569
      @marisabaldwin4569 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Divine_Mode I was thinking of that but would be somewhat worried how well it would be able to hold without messing with the square wires. Since there's a lot of tension needed with a channel setting I wouldn't want to pull too hard and mess up the square wires. I think this is something Im going to have to experiment with in the future !

  • @pgacarr
    @pgacarr 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I have watched this video several times as I really love this ring. Well, today I tried it and I really messed up. Everything went fine until I was wrapping the 1/2 round wire. I didn't have 22 ga, so I used 21 ga., due to the length of the wire I found that the wire would kink up and have a hard time keeping it straight. Is there a secret to keeping it from kinking? You have awesome videos, I love them! Keep it up!!

    • @Emperian.jewelry
      @Emperian.jewelry 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I personally have 2 ways I like to keep my wire from kinking.
      1. Wubbers. They are silicone pliers that can smooth a wire should or get kinked, but don't overuse! Wire gets tougher/harder the more it's annieled, so use this technique sparingly.
      2. Pinch the wire as you go along, with your fingers. This will keep the wire warm and pliable, but also keep the band straight.
      Been wrapping 4 years now, myself. The struggle is real!
