Thanks for posting this i have the same thing. And thanks for this video I now know that what I was told was my windshield washer fluid hose is actually my vacuum line it was melted into in several places. T. He shop I took it too to get spark plugs and wires changed said it's just your wiper hose. Nothing important. So I am going to fix it myself.

The hoses are the same but the wiper washer hoses carry the fluid to the windshield.

Could that also cause the truck to rev up past 5 on gage but only go about 30 miles an hour in drive. But in 2 it drives Normal

No when I had the issue in this video with the 4x4 engaging I could not drive more than 30mph without bad stuff happening, the revving of the engine could possibly be triggered by an idle dependent vacuum hose

And where is that. I'm 51years young I guess if I can teach myself to drywall from TH-cam I can teach myself to repair my S10

Dude, I literally am going through the exact same issue. I already replaced the transfer case switch which I assumed was the issue, but after about a 5 mile drive it blew the fuse once again. Your video was very helpful. I just ordered from Amazon the 4wd switch you changed. Hopefully that will fix the issue. Luckily, the switches are inexpensive. Thank you for your video. You have earned a subscriber.

The front diff will engage, the vacuum line on the t-case may be backwards on yours, considering you replaced it, the only thing I can think of, besides the 4wd switch blowing the 4wd fuse and instruments.

@@JLGARAGE252 in my situation, the lights of the buttons on the dashboard just stopped working.
I did search for fuse 15 but it seems nice.
I don't know what to do

@@Yanudibraim7111 I’m currently having the issue again as well. I check the fuse, lifted the truck in the air to see it’s still locked in 4x4 and finally pulled the 4x4 switch from the axle, replaced it, nothing happened, checked my harness on the transfer case, getting power, check my 4x4 switch in the dash, back lights come on when you turn on headlights but orange indicators do not, check the switch it self with a multimeter and found that’s the problem. The switch in the dash has failed.

Mine doesn't blow fuses (00' Sonoma zr2 Highrider) but makes a similar high-pitched grinding/whining noise at highway speeds. I let off the gas, put it in 4 high then back to 2 high and it's fine for another 5 or 30 miles. For eight buck$ I certainly will give this a try.

Fixed my problem if not check the vacuum line on the transfer case and the on UNDER the battery tray!

Do you have the part number for the four wheel drive fuse. i found it very interesting and would like to try it. the lights on my switch on the dash come on when they feel like it. i m with you, the zr2 are badass. i have thought about getting another one at some point in the future.

    • @JLGARAGE252

cody broten it’s just a regular 10 amp fuse the part number for the 4wd switch on the front diff however, is as follows: 15598481

      @JLGARAGE252  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

cody broten check the wiring going to the 4wd actuator in the dash, the whole assembly like to go bad so start there as I said in the video, start with the basics

In my situation, the button case has no light indicator, so my 4x4 is not working..
    But no blown fuses..
    What should I do?
