Thank you so much for this. I'm new to dipping and was going to give up on it since I always got chips or cracks after only 2 days 😔. But now I feel like I'll be able to get them to last the 2 weeks at least I'd like. God bless you sis.

Hello I have never done this before but I also won't go have them done at a salon I don't like the way the way they file them because they are real not artificial and they they always want to make them square looking so I think I am going to give dipping a chance!!!thank you for sharing this!!! God Bless!!!❤️

Oh man. The first time I used CN Designer Dips after starting off with Modelones, I thought maybe I’d done something different because of how much smoother and thinner the powders went on! Worth investing a little more for sure!

Do you remember when I first started??? I'd be posting sets with bald spots from over filing and getting disappointed by the lack of likes 😔 so now I make it a point e give those new people the encouragement they deserve. Another thing I learned is there is a huge difference in the application for fast drying and slow drying liquids. I can dip with double Dippd no problem but if I use my og liquids there is no option but to pour over otherwise I'll get wrinkles.

I love your last bit of advice Melissa. It definitely takes a lot of trial and error and practice. I always love your videos. I have been dipping for a while, but I wanted to know if there was anything I was missing. I knew everything you mentioned, but I still enjoyed.

Something I was struggling with was my top coat not drying on random nails it was weird because one or two nails wouldn’t dry but the rest did. After doing some research I found it was probably the activator. So I started quickly rinsing my hands with water (only water no soap) to remove the activator residue let them dry for 5 min and I haven’t had an issue since. Also, if you are having lifting issues it could be because you are exposing your bare nails to water before hand. Whatever you do if you wash your hands before your mani, wait at least an hour before you start your mani.

The azure liquids give me terrible dip flu even with wearing a mask. I’m new to dip liquids. Going to try & buy some odorless. Hope that’ll help me.

Another helpful video- thank you Melissa! As I’ve commented before, your voice is so soothing that I feel relaxed after watching a video!!
Your comments about new user mistakes were applicable to my experience for sure! I kept thinking “my nails will never look realistic!” Well I was way over applying liquids AND marinating my nail in the dip! It’s been since May 2020 for me since dipping only and my first application compared to two years later is night and day! Truth was told about powder quality too! I only would use expensive well-advertised on Facebook brands and scoff as the “homemade” small companies offerings. After trying CCE and G&G I found them to be as good and in some cases even better!
Recently I bought two kits from Amazon, both reviews by several TH-cam DIY popular “dip divas” and found surprising for the price of ONE dip I’ve bought from a fancy company- the inexpensive kits liquids and powders were the same or better!!
So definitely a learning experience but not for those that are impatient, or let’s face it, just unskilled. But hey, as long as they are happy- no shade thrown!
Please keep making content for us! Will you take suggestions for new videos @Melissa?

Great video. I am still scared to use dip base on my natural nails. The first dip I did was with gel actually and it was one coat. I stayed away for a long time because I hated the dusty feel of the acrylic. I still hate it but I am used to it and I still do not use it on my natural nails. My first was green too.

Love the colors you picked! Did you clear encapsulate your solid color or no I know you did the glitter but didn’t hear or see you clear encapsulate the solids..

    • @MelissasManis

Nope! I don't put clear on a solid unless I know it's prone to pigment buffing out of it

Does double dipp'd also deliver to Germany? Currently I'm using Kiara Sky because my Cousin, who has a salon and uses Kiara Sky told me that they are the best. I don't know what to say about them.. I think they contaminate very quickly and I'm having a hard time with them. As a beginner I don't know which brands I should use to make dipping easier for me. When I do my nails it takes me forever to finish (like 4+ hours) and it's exhausting... it's a struggle... any tips?

In my experience, KS contaminates very easily. Almost as bad as Revel. Definitely try some of the indie brands she’s mentioned.

    • @bibievelonas

@@shkrjam84 yes I'll try but that's not that easy. I live in Germany and most brands have to be delivered from America cand the shipping is killing you😅

I don't think I'll ever like the dipping process I just can't bear the powder on my skin and falling everywhere but I got six jars of modelsone dipping powders in a big lot of nail stuffs I bought and there are some lovely nude grey and pink shades and I'd still like to use them somehow. I'm tempted to try mixing some with a soft gels to create a kind of acrygel and maybe try some with liquid monomer to apply a colour coat on acrylic nails or with monomer to sculpt with...
I Just don't want to waste it
