  • Make sure your battery is adequately charged!!
Disclaimer: this video is strictly to show how to check your ECM/PCM positive battery voltage and ground. The pinout diagrams provided in the description can help you better diagnose different components of the car. DO NOT assume that just because you have a U0100 code, you have a bad computer. There are many components connected to the car computer that can fail and cause no crank no start, shorts, bad grounds, corroded wires, frayed wires, and faulty system modulas including (BCM, TCM and many more ) can also cause a loss of communication. Diagnosing such issues is best done by an experienced mechanic who has access to wiring diagrams and advanced bidirectional scan tools.

I changed my fuse box out on my g6 3.9 after it would get too hot and prevent the car from starting till it cooled down, and after I replaced it my car read error on dash and won’t start.

Do you mean the fuse box was getting hot or the car?

I have 07 Pontiac g6. I replaced my pcm. I had 2 diff locksmiths pull up on 2 diff occasions. I also had about 3 diff mechanics take a look at it and I called shops. Plz tell me why nobody knows anything. My dash stil sayin "error" and still wont start. I ordered used pcm jus like the guy in the video. A locksmith pulled up yesterday after he did the same procedure I did about 10x before I even called a locksmith. He failed of course. Then gonna tell me "uhm buddy the pcm u ordered is no good" he tried to tell me I did the procedure wrong at 1st until he did it and failed. Now he telling me the new used ocmti ordered no good. And I jus feel like he bullshi++ing me and he jus don't kno wat he doin fr. So I'm supposed to send this pcm back. Wait for another one jus to get the same results? I jus bought this car. I'm beginning to think the seller finessed me At this point. My car still has the paper tags. I brought it cash and it went down on me before the tags expired it's been down for 2months and it's only a pcm issue. I feel defeated. I don't even know where to look who to call or wat to do. I can't make any money or go anywhere. I already wasted money w the 1st locksmiths who told me I jus needed a new key. Paid for that. Now I have 2keys for a non working car. I don't kno what to do. I been on Google and TH-cam for months trying to do this

I have a 2009 Pontiac G6 2.4 L what happens if the negative cable is grounded to the copper ground cable together would that cause the car not to start should all the ground wires not be touching and should be separate

The negative battery cable is a ground cable that grounds at on the frame of the car next to the headlight. The battery must be grounded in order for the car to start. Ground cables can be grounded to the same bolt, but make sure that all the wires are making contact with the metal. I recommend keeping them grounded in the place they were originally.

The 30amp fuse was blown so I changed it out and I installed a new ignition switch new alternator new starter new neutral switch new battery new relays still no crank so now I took a wire attached it to the starter relay coil plugged it back in and touching the wire to my positive+ battery cable and my car starts up idles perfect that's good and all just would you have any ideas how I can find the wire where I can use my ignition switch cylinder like I normally starts

Does the fuse keep blowing? Sounds like you have a short somewhere, I would take a probe light and see if your getting power to the starter when you turn your key, you can take a probe light to the starter relay and check if you getting positive power to the starter relay ( your key needs to be in the accessory position). You can then trace the wire. A wiring diagram would be helpful, I believe in the Pontiac G6 the starter relay has a ground and positive power that leads to the ecm and then to several modulas like BCM, Transmission control module, Park neutral switch connected to the ignition switch, etc. you might need to back probe some of these to check if they receive power. I would check the wiring between ecm and fuse box, also next to your oil dipstick and around your valve cover, my car had huge amounts of rust that were cutting into the wires in that area. This condition may be caused by the purple starter wire (circuit #6) chafing against the A/C line. I don’t believe you have a problem with your ecm. You seem to lack power to your starting system. Since your 30A fuse blew it seems like your. Problem could also be between your battery starter and your grounds.
